Super cool. I really hope we get a winter next year, I’d love to see these on the trail. Sucked in northern Ontario. Last year we had a storm April 1st, we rode till the 2nd!
@@gumballer133 I'd imagine Ibexx and solid turbos will have a kit out for this next season. Their kits flat rip and I would not go any cheaper than what they offer. Silber's are cheap for a reason.
AJ great review Definitely exciting year for cat. Love that the snow pro package is back very cool. Wish i had the coin to purchase a new cat for next season. But i dont if i did id want the riot in sno pro or the XC. Thanks for the useful information good job.
Cat. Is. Back. Cat has delivered what everybody has been asking for with the Catalyst and 858.. Except for a turbo, of course. Now a dose of reality. The chassis and 858 have GOT TO BE RELIABLE. At these prices and given the length of winter many of us have to ride now, there is going to be no tolerance for unreliability. Zip. Cat engineering and management had better be glued to the dealer reports looking for issues trends and getting out in front of them.
Polaris can’t hardly hold a sled together. I don’t think it matters sadly…. I am a cat guy and I’ve never. Never had an issue as long as I do my regular maintenance. So if history continues it will be reliable
Curious if northern crankshaft from thief river falls has anything in the works for it. Hmm 🤔 I know they still have a 1750cc cases still for a ZRT. Not joking. If you can dream it they will build it. Ie... building a custom crankshaft to put two motors together even.
Good review. And I am not an Arctic Cat rider. It's a lot better than Snow West's flip flop review's. They are just focused on what they want instead of just showing what a snowmobile maker has to offer.
QS3R's on the 9000 RR still list as having the Kashima Coating. Not listed on the website as having them, but will investigate further if the ones on the R-XC have them as well.
So I watched this video on the day that Arctic Cat announced they are closing down production indefinitely, claiming weak demand. Anyone else think that it is just limited demand for snowmobiles over $20,000! Please bring back sleds that everyone can afford, even if they don’t have the latest and greatest technology.
So in 2010 AC introduces the 800 HO that produces 163 HP >>>>>>> fast forward 15 years + 8 cc's and alot of new technology, and we now sit 165 HP ??? I call BS. From all that I've seen in person and on youtube, the last 800 (Ctec2) is damn near matching Doo and Poo 850's on power. Those are rated @ 165HP. I think this 858 is int the 175HP range if we are all being honest here. There's NO way AC detuned the Ctec@ 800 back to 150HP vs the Zuke 800's 163HP. I test rode the newer 800 Ctec2 137" and it felt more powerful than my 2016 ZR8000 137".
Minor quibble: too many acronyms without explanations. Major point: as nifty as this technology is, who would buy an Arctic Cat now that it appears to be circling the drain?
Nice to see new stuff from Cat, we need more competition in the industry.
I like to ride my sled to escape from connectivity, not be connected to everyone.
The new Cats are super sharp looking. Glad to see Cat back in the game.
Should be a great sled, hope to see a lot of them on the trails next season

Exciting times in the Cat camp. 👍🙂👍
GIVE ME an 858 Arctic cat riot.
No i dont care that they dont have a turbo yet.
Nice lineup. 👍
I can't go backwards in performance though. I would be happy to buy one and add an aftermarket Turbo, but don't think much is available yet.

@jacobboswell9325 Ohh I'd be all over that! I don't want a Ski doo!
The gauge seems pretty cool, lots of features

I will take a snowtrax review over a snow west review and day
Nice muscles!
Are the Arctic Cat and Polaris group rides cross compatible?
Now, if we could only have Winter
Can the riot cat walk?
No more kashima coat for the QS3R?

Just curious, what’s the advantage of the Kashima coding aside from the cool looks?
@@jimmywoller7320 It is a hardening treatment that increases lubrication and abrasion resistance and helps your shocks last longer.
I hope cat puts a utility sled out next wide track wr 3 transmission with a cat engine
likely due to cost cutting

Whoever chose the audio we will no longer be needing your services
TURBO! STILL MISSING A TURBO!
Wow a 4WD snowmobile 😂

That thing is absolutely hideous ... 😆
