    Best demo of Channel EQ ever! Sure, there are lots of ways but your method resulted in clarity in instrument and voice quality and in stereo imaging. Thank you. This series is excellent!

    I’ve worked with linear EQ’s but this video really delved into the digital side very clearly.
    As always, thanks and I look forward to the next one.

    I noticed you had the yellow one crossed over to the right and the green to the left - are the 4 inner settings all the same and you can move them wherever you want? Does it make a difference if the yellow is under the green icon and vie versa vs having the yellow setting directly under the yellow icon? Hope that makes sense.

  • @JeffyG
    @JeffyG ปีที่แล้ว

    Nicely done - loads of good advice! I’ve used different EQs and wonder if different EQs have or add any sound? You’d expect an EQ to add nothing, simply cut or boost frequencies from the source, but do some EQ plugins add noise or colour?

    • @MusicTechHelpGuy
      @MusicTechHelpGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most EQs (except linear phase EQs) will add some slight color just due to the minute phase issues between the bands, but digital parametric EQs like this are certainly the cleanest. Hardware EQs, Tube EQs, and many other modeling EQs will impose some tone and coloration in a nice way. Logic has 3 of them that we'll go over in a future video, in the "Vintage EQ Collection" category.

    Hello sir! I appreciate what you are doing! It’s really wonderful and educational. I have a question. You already have logic X videos on your channel. Are you going to cover all the videos in the new logic series? Thank you!!

    • @MusicTechHelpGuy
      @MusicTechHelpGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Originally I had a main 77 part series on Logic Pro I made starting in 2013. This series will cover all of the topics in that series, as well as some new topics. However, they will not necessary be the same order. I'm splitting this series up into smaller 20-30 part "Sections" so it's a bit more manageable. By part 30 or so, we will be out of the "essentials" section and moving on to MIDI and software instruments.

    Can you explain the pre and post on the analyzer?

    • @MusicTechHelpGuy
      @MusicTechHelpGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It shows you the analysis pre-EQ or post-EQ. So pre-EQ you'll see the frequency spectrum for the input signal, and any changes you make with the EQ will not affect the analysis visualization. If you select post, any changes you make will affect the analysis. Neither have any control over the signal coming out of the EQ though.

  • @TheirIAre
    @TheirIAre ปีที่แล้ว

    What are the vertical numbers on left and right??

    • @MusicTechHelpGuy
      @MusicTechHelpGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! The numbers on the left show the input level of each frequency range in dB-FS, when the analyzer is turned on. You can click and drag on the numbers up or down to adjust the placement of the analyzer in the window. The numbers on the right are a meter for the added or reduced gain for each band in the EQ. This can also be dragged up or down.

  • @TheHypnoticJerks
    @TheHypnoticJerks ปีที่แล้ว

    What do the numbers mean on the far left? The numbers that go from +0 to -60 vertically.

    • @MusicTechHelpGuy
      @MusicTechHelpGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! The numbers on the RIGHT show you the amount of boost/cut you're making on the EQ, while the numbers on the LEFT show the actual dBFS levels of the spectrum in the analyzer.
