Garifuna apprenticeship recital

On June 28th 2023 LUZ SOLIZ and KAYLEE MELENDEZ presented a program featuring the choreography, dance and history Kaylee learned through her NYSCA FOLK ARTS APPRENTICESHIP with master artist Luz. The program ended with audience participation including members of our bomba class which takes place next door at the BMHC Annex--OXIL FEBLES, GABRIEL ORTIZ and NELSON SEDA danced to the Garifuna drums to the rhythm of chumba.
