This was a great interview. I enjoy hearing about the history of Latin music in the United States and the Puerto Rican contributions to it.
Prof Miller,if you had wanted a music that trully portrays the relationship between Abacua and the cross River Ekpe, you should have asked for the music of Ekpe Ita.All the same, kudos for a job well done.

Big things
This is fantastic, thank you!
In Cuba I learned to play the guiro pattern with alternating down- and upstrokes, starting with a downstroke. Only at the beginning of the three side of the clave my teacher told me to play two consecutive downstrokes. But, as with most afro cuban instruments, there are many different ways of interpreting a rhythm. Nevertheless a very helpful video for beginners.
Bello
Yesss🔥🔥🔥
Jose you are the man!🎉❤🎶✊🏾🙏🇵🇷💯
WEPA, amo nuestra cultura. Sending abrazos from la matria (I'm from Long Island City, but in Nov 2021, I left usa & came back home). ❥❥❥
its a wonderful session , but its sad that I can't use my left hand as well due to an accident that cause nerve damage. but Im a national when it comes to learning instruments. I would like to attend your classes.

I fell in love with salsa. Listening to this is fascinating. Thank you.
Naren, nice to come across some of your videos. This is Mark....we used to perform lots together in NYC. Hope you're well!
Marvelous!
Maestro!
I have been looking for a good Danzón explanation pattern baqueteo. This one is so well and detailed. Thanks maestro 👏👍🏼
Elena is one of the hardest working women in the Arts. Bobby, a very accomplished musician. With all due respect, Ronnie Puente, doesn't possess the graciousness of his father Tito Puente. We politely & unintrusively approached him for a selfy at a celebration of TP's 95th birthday. He refused, said then everyone would want a selfy. 😳
Great musical culture. Africa is rich. Master nkumu katalay
Just watched Rob Scallon's video on the Kora and started looking for other music featuring it, this stuff is truly gorgeous. Great musicians :)))
This video is incredible. Tell David thanks and that he rocked it, next time you see him. What a hoss! Still kickin' it at 93! (I can only hope to be that vigorous, when/if I reach that age.)
Thank you !😃
Bobby, Hermano, I have several of your videos, as well as your music. You're videos are most instructive, full of technical details, and history; and, most important of all, you impart all of that in a most humble manner! Unfortunately, in our community, Latinos like yourself, with this musical and historical background, are becoming rarer and rarer (just like the Latin bookstores and record stores all over NYC!). Keep up the good work, and thank you!
Soy biznieto de Jose Ignacio Quinton, musico de cuerdas y mis nietos mayores son musicos tambien. Esta en la sangre. Gracias bisabuelo, Gracias a la Parranda.
