- I'm not sugarcoating it. I hate these watches. I love what they stand for, but Panerai really screwed these watches up. THANK YOU TO WATCHES OF ESPIONAGE FOR WRITING A DISPATCH ON THIS COLLECTION.

The collaboration between Panerai and the Navy Seals is to do with the Seal vets and the charitys that are involved.
@@31hallite thanks for pointing that out.
Panerai did a collaboration with the Navy Seals and the first Panerai Navy Seal colab included a day training with a Seal Team. An experience. I’m not sure you can complain if they chose to collaborate together.
My dad is a Marine BTW. He has some great stories.
I’m aware, the navy seals experience edition cost a little over 60 grand. Totally not worth it in my opinion. It may be worth it to someone else who really likes the SEALS but it’s not my cup of tea.
Also, as I stated in the video, my primary reason for not liking the watches is their aesthetic. They just don’t look good to me, or even like watches I’ve seen military guys wear. Of the Panerais I have seen, most have been from the Luminor collection, like the 01086.
BTW tell your Dad I said thank you for his service and Semper Fidelis.
Just found your channel. Really enjoying your thoughts. Regarding Panerai, I bought my first ~20 years ago. Still love my PAM 111 and it still runs great and looks amazing. I now have three Panerai, and they’re fun! 45mm Radiomir and a grey submersible.
But I also enjoy Rolex, Cartier and a Breitling SOH given to me many years ago. To me…all are timeless.
Thanks for checking my channel out man. Hope you enjoy binging my videos. Wear your watches in good health my man 👌
Panerai weren’t ever meant to be pretty. The association with groups of military, famous people, other brands etc, isn’t anything new. Omega, Rolex, RM, Breitling, Sinn etc etc
Panerai have lost their way slightly…. and simpler is always better.
Aesthetics are always subjective. Purely down to design less complicated designs always work better impo.
@@Alex_J44 I agree 100 percent, I just think this watch is a step too far.
Hate it when people do a review of a watch and they don't actually have one in there hands, just looking at a screen or picture.
@@31hallite I don’t need to see the watch in person to know that I dislike it.
This video isn’t a full-on review either.
There’s a few of the older ones I like. Sandwich dial, actual waterproofing and decent price. Newer ones, nah thanks
Don’t get me wrong, I like panerai in general. I’m a fan specifically of their stainless steel and rose gold submersibles. But this collection in particular is a total miss.
@@WornDownCrown agreed completely.
Well first of all thanks for opening this conversation; I have to say that general taste is a matter personal preference as we say; please let me advise you: Why don't you look a different perspective and see this NAVY SEAL collection not as an actual tool soldiers use in combat, further more this is a homage to our military forces; what can be better than a prestigious watch maker knowing for strong ties to the military? I hope that helped to shift you a little bit towards Panerai's vision. Cheers from Cali
Par for the course with Panerai. Their pathetic marketing continues…cringe factor of 1000
Suunto and G-Shock - the rest are ill-suited to the task. The world has evolved a great deal since the time that Panerai got that contract with the Italian navy - and not 'special operations' Italian navy - just the tin can navy. Frankly, analog displays of time are not user friendly. Mechanical watches fail. Any watch that is properly referred as a 'timepiece', due to price point, is also silly and ill-conceived for operators outside the wire, down range, or any other of the preferred nomenclature for special warfare.
It's one thing when a sub 1.000USD watch, like Luminox (an American brand that is Swiss manufactured), tries to trade on its supposed alignment with SEAL - at least in their defence there is some legacy. But, when a brand that is at a much higher price point north of 10.000USD tries to, it is desperately pathetic. Panerai has their Paneristas, but they dance too close to the Hublot bonfire too often to be taken seriously.
This is exactly why I said the Panerai Navy SEAL watches are tacticool. They’re designed to look like something they are absolutely not.
Casio G-Shock Mudmaster would be a much better investment...
100 percent agree
Are those cinder blocks? Are you in a bunker?
Yes but my bunker is above ground level so I can still enjoy sunlight 😅
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the FXD Black.
I already made a video on it actually, and I like it. More subtle
@@WornDownCrown oh shit, of course you did lol. You just re-raised a couple points that were particularly relevant. Namely, OK, maybe the watch is or isn't used by X, but don't put X on the damn watch.
Like Omega putting "FIRST WATCH ON THE MOON" on the moonwatch... or the "007" logo on the hands of the watch. But when it comes to military, particularly cringe. But particularly true for car co-brands. Kind of cringe to say, have a ferrari branded watch and no ferrari. But perhaps just as cringe to have the ferrari branded watch even when you do have the Ferrari.
@@aussieexpatwatches yeah. The Tudor black FXD is one of those watches that is cool because if you know, you know. Also, the fixed lugs are a genuinely functional aspect of the watch that make it well-suited for a tactical situation.
The Panerai is just loud, obnoxious, screams for attention, and just takes the complete opposite approach that Tudor does. Like you said… super cringe.
Revolting watches! These watches did not only miss the mark they missed the whole backstop.
🤣🤣
I think that you are “right on”! I will not be buying one and I agree that the watches look silly.
Thank you. Indeed, silly is the perfect word to describe how these look.
Luminox!!
TIME TO TARGET lol
So cringey
