Love this healthy and realistic food routine video! I’m into martial arts as well and follow a similar diet. Lost about 30 lbs through kickboxing & limiting red meat/fast food from my diet. I hate cooking as well and use the air fryer religiously hahahah. Would love a video on avoiding mental burnout in martial arts. I oftentimes feel depressed after training sessions even if only hitting mitts or bag because I’m concerned I’m becoming someone I don’t like in those moments - a fighter. Would love to hear you explain the difference between the identity of a martial artist vs a fighter.
Hey mate - that's a very interesting perspective I've never heard of that before. What about a fighter identity do you want to avoid? Are we talking about an aggressive street fighter or an athlete fighter like Jeff? If it's aggression that you'd like to avoid, in my experience martial arts are a flexible tool that can suit a range of personalities - if you feel like you're getting too violent here, maybe consider some of the more "gentle" arts like BJJ which give you much more control over how much pain/damage you inflict on your opponents, or perhaps the more traditional arts if you're finding kickboxing too rough contact. The philosophies of each martial art and the "why" to your training are both integral to individual enjoyment. With that said, martial arts generally don't make people more violent - it's other factors like upbringing, culture, stress, desperation, a history of bullying (or social discrimination), etc. that are more relevant. Martial arts are a tool, and it depends on the person who uses them. Some people use it for violence, some people use it for exercise, some people use it just for fun - and some people use it only to defend other people. I think if you're worried about the kind of person you're becoming, it might be worth asking about the other areas in your life too - are you surrounding yourself with healthy relationships? Are you consuming media/social media that might be giving you unpleasant messages? You mentioned depression before - what other ways are you taking care of your mental health and is there anything you could be doing better? Fundamentally, it seems like you're at a stage where you're considering the kind of person you want to become. Identity change is complex, but it generally arises when you adjust your thoughts and behaviours in a particular direction. I identify as a martial artist and an athlete because I go to the gym and train martial arts every week. I watch martial arts/fitness channels in my spare time over other kinds of content. I don't consider myself a fighter simply because I've never gotten into any fights and I'm also really bad at being aggressive/mean to other people. If you're interested in moulding your identity a certain way, maybe think about the kinds of thoughts/behaviours you'd expect to see from people who already identify that way, and gradually integrate them into your life as well. Coming from someone who's tried to deliberately change their identity though, it's a LOT easier said than done - so don't give up straight away, and if things get really bad consider seeking professional help. A good therapist can really work wonders. Good luck dude!
I also like the look of your oven thing and your use of the air fryer - it looks like you don’t need to put in too much effort and get clean and tasty food

I love food. I started out being very skinny but got really fat as a child and then eventually when I started martial arts, that fat started condensing into muscle. Luckily for me, most of that was due to food and the amount I ate as well as being Chinese so having amazing home cooked meals regularly. I never even did weights and yet got more buff than half my friends who did. Food (and genetics I guess) plays a huge huge part in physical activity, whether for building yourself up, getting energy, or just repairing your body but on top of that, it’s one of the world’s most enjoyable things to eat good meals. Anyways that’s my food rant. Your dishes do look very tasty while still being super simple and I would love to see more.

Really like this style of video. What's your offseason weight typically? Also would be curious to know how your weight training changes when you're prepping for a fight.
I walk around 153-155! When I am in camp, I usually go to a personal trainer and they have me do more explosive + cardio weight training!
That Knorr Chicken Boilliin is pure MSG. I think it’s linked to neurotoxicity. Its the first thing I saved when you were marinating your chicken. I saw it because my parents used to use it to make chicken soups 😂😂.
