I’ve learned something from TH-cam but I can’t remember exactly who the artist is but here it is: usually somewhere on your tube of paint one will find a square-if the square is clear or empty then that particular color is transparent, if the square is half full then it’s semi-transparent, if it’s completely colored in then it’s opaque. I thought if others knew this little tid-bit that it may help with mixing colors. Titanium is an opaque color so it makes sense to add it to more transparent colors. It also tends to brighten but not always
Yes I have a lesson on color mixing that goes over all of that. There is some great info on the paint tubes and also on their websites. It will list all kinds of helpful stuff.
Speaking of getting something new, but sort of afraid to use it, I bought the glass pallet. It sat around for a week before I got the nerve to use it. Silly but now I use the glass pallet and I love it.
I am like that with new supplies too. I don't want to mess them up!

Does golden make any pastel paints or does any heavy body paint come in pastels?
Yes Golden has some pre-mixed colors in lighter tones. If you go to the Blick link in the description and then click on one of the golden paints it will show up what they have available. :)

I will be painting this onto a mirror - other than 'no background', do you have any tips?
Using a paint with a glass medium will help. Acrylics don't stick well on their own to glass. I bet this will be beautiful on a mirror!
