The 34th episode of the Super Mario Bros Super Show Cartoon - The Ten Koopmandments - Originally aired 31-Oct-1989
King Koopa has turned the people of Pyramid Land into bricks for his new Koopinx. Mario and friends come to their rescue, only to be caught and get trapped in a pyramid. They need to find a way to save the Mushroom people, but first they need to free themselves.

Second, if there was plumbing, the kingdom would fall into disrepair due to dirty plumbing.
I mean, this show kinda jumps from one thing to the next. And, while yeah, that doesn't really make sense, Bowser knows the Mario Bros.' occupations, and he tends to insult them about it.

It could well be, nearly all of the Super Mario Bros Super Show episodes were a parody of something (be it a movie, book, other series) but having never read the book of exodus, I am unable to confirm!

The sea in the episode compares with it too, being made of hot sauce. In the bible, the red sea was a normal sea, but was turned red by fire and brimstone.

They seriously couldn't just have this set in Sarasa Land? I mean this show came out the exact same time as "Super Mario Land" for the original Gameboy.
I really hate to break this to you, but the people who wrote this show weren't fans of Mario Bros or video games for that matter. It was the 1980s, when video games were mostly for kids and teens. If you were over 18 and still playing games, you were a weirdo. If you were a girl playing video games, you were still a weirdo. I don't know about being non-white and playing video games, so I'm going to assume you were also considered weird back then or, if this was the arcade, then only doing it to hustle stupid white kids out of their quarters.

More likely they wrote it before Mario Land. Or you know, were adults, writing a kids show about video games, that they had little knowledge or care about.

Those people don’t like Christians. Heck, Hollywood had a event in satanic theme recently.
The 1980s had a lot of complaints about blasphemous content. They just didn't go after cartoons that much because weekday afternoon kids shows were the equivalent of landfill garbage. The Saturday morning cartoons were slightly better and got more press and publicity when conservative Christians went after them for, say, showing Mighty Mouse inhaling crushed flower dust or liberals whining over GI Joe being too violent (though to be fair, anyone who took that show seriously obviously has severe mental and emotional problems). The only reason people think that the 1980s didn't have that is because of short-term memory loss, prescription nostalgia goggles, or the fact that the Internet as we know it didn't exist to document it.
