Nope they don’t, because it isn’t necessary. WeatherRadio Canada was solely a network to listen to the forecast until 2004 when they implemented alerts. Because the older weather radios in Canada had no alerting feature, and the new ones with the alerting feature were done through SAME, there was no need to tone 1050, unless you have an old American weather radio.

weatherradio canada uses SAME and the same frequencies as NWR so weather radios can work between countries

The 1050hz tone is normal, i hear this all the time! That tone is used for older radios that cant understand SAME tones.

Probably because some radios can’t read the beep boop thing it does and also the US header is data and the radio needs the data to tell you what it is
