"Give it a goo" sounds like a Scottish (?) accent. I like it! It's amazing that in today's era where we're all exposed to mass media from childbirth that we still have regional accents like that. I was told I have a New Jersey accent in English, a South Moravian / Hanaquian accent in Czech, and an Oberpfalz accent in German. Which is odd, when I think about it.
This is why I like the idea of prisons in VERY remote and inhospitable places like deserts, dense jungle or year round frozen places. Don’t even need walls in those locations. Want to run? Go ahead. Life expectancy is 24 hours beyond the prison, good luck.
James Earl Ray was sent to Brushy mountain here in Tennessee after he was convicted of murdering MLK Jr. It's deep in southern Appalachia and the property surrounding it is a wildlife preserve, with cougars and black bears. He escaped and they eventually found him a day or two out in the forest. When they found him he allegedly said "boys I sure am glad you found me" haha. There was some other inmates that got loose but not too much fanfare on finding them, escaped a work detail and city boys. The area they fled, if the mountain doesn't get you, the hillbillies will.
dont let the name fool you, but Camp Green Lake is also one of those places. Except its venomous lizzards you have to watch out for not just the hot desert sun.

Wishing the best for all 3 of you. My doggie and I went through the same thing. I don't know your situation, I don't know if you're working or not, but I was fortunate enough to have a car to live in as well and I started doordashing. I would sleep in the car at night, go into a restroom at a service station and clean up in the morning, get my cup of coffee and start doordashing all day. It made the day go by quicker and I made money. It took a while but I was finally able to save enough to get a place. I know it's kind of hard to keep a regular 9 to 5 job when you're living in your car so maybe that tip helps you. Sending positive thoughts your way.
This is where I grew up! I’ve been watching Mike for years I’m excited he’s doing this story. We were all terrified while they were at large! Reportedly they were found on property my family owns
Here's a fun fact for people who aren't tech savvy: Hiding or altering your IP address doesn't hide your location. Your wifi service tracks your wifi specifically. Unless you are jumping off someone else's wifi, it is always tracked to you.
While you’re right that they don’t do a lot of what the ads say they do (remember when they used to talk about how secure you were and now it’s mostly about dodging Netflix location blocks?), I will stand by the fact that VPNs do a big service. -from China, where this app wouldn’t work without a VPN
I used to live near a max security prison. Around the whole perimeter there was a moat of sand. It was always kept smooth. If someone ran, they'd have to cross the sand, and this would give the authorities an idea of which direction they went.
Imagine 22 days on the run, in the cold and rain and sleeping in the woods or cabins, eating rotten food, getting sick and then getting shot. What a bunch of idiots.

They actually did make a very good tv mini series about this whole event . It’s called “Escape at Dannemora” starring Benicio del Toro & Patricia Arquette. Pretty good and accurate too. There also a movie made called “New York Prison Break the Seduction of Joyce Mitchell”. Not as good IMO
@ThatChapter I’m from a small town where most folks work at the state prison. if they don’t, they’re related to someone that does (or did). So many crazy stories ! A couple made into Movies. But there’s one where a lady married an inmate serving life. She moved across the street from where he worked in the fields. One day she drives up to the fence, he tossed down the hoe, or rake whatever, and he took off for the fence where she opened fire on him, of course, the guards opened fire on her. They had planned the whole thing from the jump. My bff’s Dad was the local Justice of the Peace for years. He’s the one who they got married in front of. I’m sure Google has all kinds of stories like this. But as long as i’ve been a True Crime fan i’ve never ran across any coverage.
Carl Panzram has a really interesting/ horrifying story. There was a documentary on Netflix a few years ago. Wow. It sure shows how upbringing plays the biggest role in a child's life.
My total “go to” since purple shirt days (aka pretty much the beginning) & only gets better and better every time. You definitely have “the touch”; esp w the “inside jokes” that those of us catch,,,simply from being a loyal That Chapter fan I guess…”but yeah, cuz we luv ya back 😉 Mike”!!! Keep em coming!!
I was in Clinton Corr. Fac. for 4 years and I eventually got out of prison. Most of the inmates do eventually get out, unless they're serving a "life without parole" sentence, which is actually very few people. It sucked, cuz I guess it's supposed to...LOL
As a teen I was in a foster home with David sweat , it’s sad because he always had serious problems but was very intelligent. He had to be because of his upbringing, he is a product of Broome county’s environment. It’s a sad situation for everyone and there is many more of these same stories only different names and dates

I live in this town and lived here at the time this happened. Can see the prison wall from my front yard. Wish we could post pics in comments. But, your the first person I've seen cover it. It was a crazy time. Was also crazy when Ben Stiller came to town to film.... FYI he's a douche too.
Really? I always thought Ben Stiller was a nice guy🤷🏻♀️
@@Kattycorner59lotsa plastic surgery
Wait wait you gotta spill more tea on Ben Stiller.
Hey you and welcome! here is Mike to give it a GOO! I am so impressed, he is about to break the 2 million subs milestone, Mike has earned everyone of those. Best True Crime Content creator IMHO!
That's what this prison is!! There have been people who "escaped" but they came back before night because you're in the middle of The Adirondacks
My father was a 17 yo German POW in the USSR during WW2. The nightly howls of packs of wolves in the distance deterred him from trying to escape.
dont let the name fool you, but Camp Green Lake is also one of those places. Except its venomous lizzards you have to watch out for not just the hot desert sun.

My fiance and I are homeless and living in our car with our pup.
The best part of our week is when we "three" get together and watch Mike and That Chapter.
It lets us escape our day to day "building life back together" non stop task.
😊
Thank you Mike and all the hard work you put into your channel!!♥️☺️
I do hope things improve for you both.
Me too
Wishing you all the best💖
I hope better days are to come for you and your finance. It takes time but you will get there. Take care x
Woot woot! Have a cat curled up on me, perfect temp in the room and a new video from YOU! Ahhhhh, nice.
Here's a fun fact for people who aren't tech savvy: Hiding or altering your IP address doesn't hide your location. Your wifi service tracks your wifi specifically. Unless you are jumping off someone else's wifi, it is always tracked to you.

Nobody listens.
While you’re right that they don’t do a lot of what the ads say they do (remember when they used to talk about how secure you were and now it’s mostly about dodging Netflix location blocks?), I will stand by the fact that VPNs do a big service.

I cant believe how little time Joyce and Gene served for helping rapist's and murders escape from prison.
I used to live near a max security prison. Around the whole perimeter there was a moat of sand. It was always kept smooth. If someone ran, they'd have to cross the sand, and this would give the authorities an idea of which direction they went.
What a rubbish system. Here there are pressure pads that activate alarms as soon as weight is on them.

Thanks Mike for bringing this video on a grey and snowy first day of spring.
“Escape at Dannemora” was an excellent U.S. TV mini series in 2018. Excellent. Great cast.
Incredible show!!!!! Paul dano is amazing
The book was good too
Why are the cops posing with the fugitive and holding onto him like they just caught a fish?
I mean…it is a big catch and you would probably do the same damn thing!
Epic!!!
It's pretty typical for escaped convicts
Because NYS Trooper Jay Cook hit him from 100 yards out on a dead run
Imagine 22 days on the run, in the cold and rain and sleeping in the woods or cabins, eating rotten food, getting sick and then getting shot. What a bunch of idiots.

You're a great story teller I remember when this took place. You really made it come alive. Thanks Mike.
Hey you Mike we love you as well, take care.
Life is a bit rough lately.
Mike is a genuine storyteller with personality to boot, and the videos are a bright spot in my day.
Mike, just discovered (happily) your channel recently and haven’t quite gone through all the stories. But have you done one on Anita Cobby? If not, maybe…”give it a go”? Please let me know. Thanks!
I swear David and Joyce together. It's like "And this Kids, is how Raptors were made."
You’re highly consistent my man, respect.
Even though your videos are always about bad stories, they always cheer me up.
Got to say, pretty impressive escape by these two. Also, very impressive staying free for 22 days. Great job guys, better luck next time.
I had never heard about this case. Thanks for covering it, Mike!! You’re the absolute best!! ❤❤
I love the little peek at the podcast. I’m a visual person so I don’t care for podcasts but I’m sure yours is amazing
Love the LOTR reference. RIP Boromir 🗡️

Dear Mike...i sincerely adore you. Your research and stories keep me going. Im 63 yr old grandmother raising my 4 yr old grandson. You LITERALLY save me from Peppa Pig induced psychosis daily!! Im very isolated from adult conversation and you are like a good friend coming by to drop some juicy gossip. God Bless You. Please never stop,"givin' it a goo"❤ You are so appreciated!!
That “wink” at the end always gets me!😊
Another one for the books…& as always, it was great! Thanks so much, Mike. You have the most, imo, amazing way of telling a story & make it interesting.
I remember this escape & even though I live in the Pacific Northwest, it was scary! It was such a relief when they were caught.
And you are right…it was Shawshank Redemption all over again!

Whoa! The real story would make a great movie. Glad they caught them before they injured anyone else. Thanks Mike! Good topic! 🌟🌟🌟

Never been able to see a 30 seconds ago posted until today 😂😂😂

I was in Clinton Corr. Fac. for 4 years and I eventually got out of prison. Most of the inmates do eventually get out, unless they're serving a "life without parole" sentence, which is actually very few people. It sucked, cuz I guess it's supposed to...LOL

As a teen I was in a foster home with David sweat , it’s sad because he always had serious problems but was very intelligent. He had to be because of his upbringing, he is a product of Broome county’s environment. It’s a sad situation for everyone and there is many more of these same stories only different names and dates

I highly recommend Dannemora, the mini series about this case.
Patricia Arquette, Benecio Del Toro and Paul Dano play the 3 mains.
This true crime story was made into an EXCELLENT television miniseries. ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA is so ggod and it tells the story so well. Great actors!
