- While my friends @AusraMotuzaite and Vidas are on an organ tour in Gdansk, Poland, they get inspired and keep writing music. This piece is written by Ausra on Thursday May 16 and when I saw the first page of it I said to Vidas “I gonna record it right away.” Well, turned out that after the first page written in ♭♭♭, a part in ♭♭ followed, than a part in ###, after that a part in ♭♭♭♭♭♭ to be ended in ♭♭♭. With an incredible accompanying left hand that uses a sort of contra-harmonies against the right hand but it still sounds harmonious. It’s really amazing! I can’t even mention the keys it’s written in because there are also modal elements. Incredible, just incredible. Although it’s a slow piece, it took me over an hour to learn it. But here it is. Beautiful. Just Beautiful!
While I had planned another piece this morning, a bold festive one, it of course had to make way for this one. So the bold piece follows Saturday!
Ps. Some Rien inside information:m I recorded this piece late in the evening after a very busy day. My contact lenses were dried out, so I had to put up my glasses. I was maximum concentrated to pick the right notes and at the same time to play it the way I wanted it to sound. You see me adjust my sitting position quite a lot. Because I needed all energy to play the right notes in a right playing style, I wanted to sit perfect straight for the pedals I need to reduce the chance of hitting a wrong pedal note…)

Oh, that’s awful to hear. It’s frustrating if you can’t sleep well because of noise. The good news is that you will appreciate your own bed in a few days even more! You have written another beautiful ánd educational piece. Especially the key changes from flat to sharp and back are good for learning to flex your brain. As always I was amazed by the fantastic harmonies You chose. The double pedalling in de last bars gave a nice ending. Thanks for writing another beautiful piece!

Let's hope Ausra's 'Prayer for Peace' is answered as she is living in a very volatile part of Europe at the moment where peace sadly seems to be off the agenda. Her emotionally charged composition sounds wonderful on the Mascioni Organ sample set and you play it with deep reverence, Rien: bravo!
