They’re all so badass keeping their calm knowing this situation quickly got out of their league. Movie nowadays have every character screaming “Did you see that?!” Yes. Stop pointing it out
This is just one of my favorite scenes in movie history. The fact that the heroes are on the run from the twins, an enemy that they cannot beat no matter how many times they try. Link's comment...infers to us that 'The Freeway' is a dangerous place. But there's no time to explain just yet. The police are here now too, so you have to change course and route to the freeway. The music keeps growing in its intensity repeatedly, then muting itself again for another build up. This is just the tension. Even if you've watched the scene before, you know things have to keep escalating. Only then does the full shot of all the police cars coming after them come into view. And then trinity's lines...I know them by heart. She is a character we are supposed to be grounded with--Link is not a believer in the team, he's an outsider still. He is superstitious about the freeway. But Trinity, we trust her. We trust Morpheus. "You said it was suicide" There's no turning back now. They have no other options, they have to go headfirst into the belly of the beast. Their only hope, is that Morpheus was WRONG. EVEN THEN, we escalate the scene even more. Niobe calls in, saying that she's involved too, here to save everybody. We need all the help we can get. The music keeps resetting, over and over...still building... We get the incredible shot through the tunnel, seeing the true gravity of the situation, it's not just the twins but the entire matrix police force after them. AND WE HAVE TO ESCALATE EVEN MORE, the agents are involved. And the agents aren't even HERE for Trinity and Morpheus...they're just here for the keymaker! Then the drums kick in for Mona Lisa Overdrive. Welcome to the best action scene of its generation.
The practical shot of an airborne car pancaking that van at 4:41 in, along with the way it is cut with the music, is one of my favorite scenes in any of the Matrix movies. And, man, this whole sequence is still one of the most amazing action scenes ever to be put on film, all these years later. I don't think it ever had any real competition until "Mad Max: Fury Road" in 2015.
1:19 I adore this shot. Great filmmaking is when the actions takes a breather for a moment to explain the plot and let the audience adjust to the next sequence, and this is a great example of that.
Ya know what? I have seen several of these scenes pop up in my suggestion feed, so I’m just gonna do it. Gonna get my snacks, my favorite blanket, and just pretend it’s the early 2000’s and rewatch this saga. These are so awesome and I feel like I’ve forgotten. It’s been years since I’ve seen these! Trinity is BAMF omg
Hollywood never went this ambitious ever again. The closest was Avatar in 2009 but even that didn't felt as mind bending and provocative as the matrix trilogy. Probably the best car chase scene in a sci fi movie.
I don't remember any scenes from Resurrections that are memorable, or any memorable music. Nothing. But Reloaded has a LOT of epic and breathtaking scenes! Monalisa Overdrive (The music from this scene) is my favorite!
It would be interesting to see what would happen if Neo or Smith did Combat these Twin Creatures or Program. What set of Abilities woud be used to combat the Phasing Ability!
Not only that, but I love the sound design for both Reloaded and Resurrection. It has such a unique tone to it when it comes to stuff like gunfire; that desert eagle discharge noise might not sound powerful, but it's distinctive and I've always remembered it.

This car chase scene is amazing... I love how the tension builds and the music matches the cascading tone of the scene
They’re all so badass keeping their calm knowing this situation quickly got out of their league. Movie nowadays have every character screaming “Did you see that?!” Yes. Stop pointing it out
One of the most greatest, memorable, and iconic car chase scenes in cinema. 😍😎💯👍
The lead up and the highway chase are the best scenes in Reloaded. It's not even close.
"You said it was suicide"
There's no turning back now.
3:56 I laughed for a long time when I saw Morpheus spank him with a seat belt buckle
More like whiplashed him like a wet towel lmao
I like how after the hit he is questioning it too! Did I give him a better weapon?
those scenes are INCREDIBLE
( Morpheus) - "Link what did I tell you?" 😡😡😡😡😡 LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 1:25
The practical shot of an airborne car pancaking that van at 4:41 in, along with the way it is cut with the music, is one of my favorite scenes in any of the Matrix movies. And, man, this whole sequence is still one of the most amazing action scenes ever to be put on film, all these years later. I don't think it ever had any real competition until "Mad Max: Fury Road" in 2015.
0:20 Oh SH*T! look out behind you
1:19 I adore this shot. Great filmmaking is when the actions takes a breather for a moment to explain the plot and let the audience adjust to the next sequence, and this is a great example of that.
I agree. I think this sequel is fantastic and this film gets heavily criticised but when you think it was 2003, it’s really good, especially the CGI.
Seeing that Cadillac jumps out on the road with the amazing soundtrack gives epic vibes. You know you are in for a treat
Caddy paid big coin for their product placement in this highspeed chase. A classic brand for a classic epic scene!
The twins and the score in this scene 10/10.
2:09 that was creepy.
Monalisa Overdrive (The music from this scene) is my favorite!
that can be said for most of todays movies...just generic throw away content.
It was so cool watching this movie in cinema in 2003
It would be interesting to see what would happen if Neo or Smith did Combat these Twin Creatures or Program. What set of Abilities woud be used to combat the Phasing Ability!
Neo kinda did when he fought the exiles team. All of them can defy matrix like Neo but sure, can be interesting even if Neo is superior in hand combat
2:09 It was always freaky to see the Agent transformations in this movie.
pure kino
reloaded had amazing music. definitely was an excellent follow up movie
Not only that, but I love the sound design for both Reloaded and Resurrection. It has such a unique tone to it when it comes to stuff like gunfire; that desert eagle discharge noise might not sound powerful, but it's distinctive and I've always remembered it.
The Best chase car scene of cinema history
Best car chase scene ever! This is epic!
Agreed. It’s as long as it’s brilliant. I have reviewed this film favourably and I think it gets unfair criticism a lot.
Matrix is great trilogy.
SUCH A GOOD SEGMENT! ALSO A FUN LEVEL ON THE GAME!
Anyone else?
