I thought there were lots of things wrong. They over-relied on bullets and bullets missing their targets. It really killed the tension. Also between many of the cuts it looks like people and cars move incorrectly. ddawg mentions one another is jumping on the truck with the motor cycles. They don't jump nearly soon enough and when they do land they are too seperated from one another and too far into the middle of the truck. Also things are unnecessarily telegraphed. Like "crush him" really? Like its obvious that is what they would be doing. Another one is the cuts with the actors don't feel like they are showing the right motion. Like when they are standing on the truck there is no sensation of enough wind. The key makers clothes are not moving enough and they are not not yelling like they would going 40 miles and hour on a freeway to hear one another. This is especially noticeable because when they start riding suddenly the wind is done correctly. It is a super ambitious scene that they mostly pull off. But the details really ruin it. Maybe worst of all though is there is no character building. Its a chase to have a chase. There is no emotional story telling.

I remember when I saw this Trinity Ducati chase scene on big screen when I was a kid. Jesus! I had to hold my breath because of how intense it was. My heart was beating so loud! The big noises from the trucks amplified by the sound system of the cinema, the cinematography, the stunts. I never saw something like this til' this day! Even after 10 Fast&Furious movies. I was mesmerised and still is.
Kids, watch the legendary chase from the movie "The French Messenger". Pure adrenaline, directing, camerawork, no 3D effects and other modern animation. 1971, guys, but how cool. th-cam.com/video/4mgIDVwdD-M/w-d-xo.html
Adding to the fact that the scene was actually shot like that, although in much slower speed. There was only one stunt rider who agreed to ride the bike against the traffic. Granted there are tons of effects added to the scene, but the bike actually rode against the traffic with much reduced speed. So the bike leaning from side to side is actually the real rider steering the bike. When you look at the short skidmarks that the cars leave and how aggressively the cars change their direction, I would say the actual speed of the real footage was something like 30km/h. STILL.... even though I know how to ride bikes, I would never in a million years agree to ride against the traffic... insane respect to the stunt rider!
This is plain and simple the best chase scene ever filmed, not just for the cinematography and how well it is directed but for the love and the respect they showed for the 996. Being Italian I can't even begin to describe the frustration of seeing my favorite bikes in movies like the first Transformers (Aprilia RSV 1000), The Italian Job (Ducati 748) and so on sounding like a Japanese inline four instead of hearing the roaring sound of their V-Twin or L-Twin engines. Just listen to that dry clutch at 3:15, pure perfection.
Morpheus man.. most stylish in everything he does.. the way he removes his specs at the end and looking at key maker.. also the the way he walk with the sword and killing the twins .. awesome
The incredible flourish of him leaping back up to the top of the container is magnificent. Coulda used his hands to climb up safely. Didn't. Neo might be The One but Morpheus has that charisma, he's like the only one of the trio who seems to enjoy the sim and roleplay a bit.

No movie ever went this hard for a chase scene aside from maybe Fury Road. It just keeps going, never slows downs. A lot is at stake so it's not just mindless action. There's a healthy balance between special and practical effects and the scene is very well directed: you know exactly where all parts are, what directions they're taking, what they're trying to achieve. Even in a literal sense, it's easy to tell where each car is located and what's around them. Also, there's a lot of character development through action: Morpheus' selflessness in staying behind to stop the twins, Trinity's cunningness driving against incoming traffic trying to stay in the middle in order to avoid police/agents shooting from both sides of the highway, the Keymaker program being crafty while also showing a lot of wisdom in his interaction with the Agent sent to kill him, etc. And of course, the legendary Juno Reactor soundtrack perfectly synced with what's happening onscreen. By far my favorite chase scene of all time.

Back then it was interesting concept “ what if “ or so on NEW to the mind. The idea of being trapped in a simulation…. Makes the mind wonder. Now todays age- there’s A.I , everyone has devices, jacked in all the time, endless supply of entertainment , VR , so on and so on , maybe the mind has gotten over stimulated so much so …that the idea of being trapped in a simulation isn’t intriguing or shocking by today’s standards. The mind of today has been dulled down maybe. Resurrections was ok , still they freed the minds of people inside the matrix vs freeing them in the real world… is what gets me.
@The_Grand_Secgend Good point, truth is Neo and Trinity know they cant free the people into the real world , not all of them anyway. There isn’t enough food/resources for everyone. So they leave the masses in the matrix but free their mind, even tho many don’t want to wake up. It’s reminds me of back to the future- the unspoken truth of it. Marty and Doc never fixed time. They left things in their favor vs what time really wanted for them. This is how the events of part two came to be - “ something has to be done about your kids “ Time was trying to fix itself , balance, in my opinion.
I wasn't talking about the concept, nor the story. I'm not saying Reloaded and Revolutions had better story. But I was talking about scenes like this. This scene is iconic, it's classic. Just listen to the music/score. Scenes like subway fight, Neo vs Smith's clones, Neo's millie-weapons / Chateau fight are also very iconic, still probably one of the best fight scenes in history. Now look at Resurrection. The third act was great, but not memorable enough. I saw people mentioned Mad Max. But you know what, the latest Mad Max movie was actually a masterpiece, at least visually.

That motorbike is so much faster than the cars though, that it's a little silly that Trinity didn't just open the throttle and leave the agents for dust.

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy Resurrections, but this 5 minute sequence was by far more mind blowing even still to this day than the entire 2 and a half hour Resurrections movie.
@@demonicoymonstruoso Resurrections wasn't THAT bad... wasn't it? Wait, am I in denial? No, surely I enjoyed Resurrections for what it was worth... I think I did. Don’t mean to be pervy but trinity’s buns when she mounts the bike🔥🔥🔥😂 I remember thinking “oh keymaker you lucky dog being a passenger on that bike” hehe
Weird to think that, in many ways, this sequence was the end of this brand of filmmaking. Where CGI was just a pure supplement to the insane amount of practical stunts, choreography and brilliant editing, before it just became cheaper to fabricate everything in post. It’s still a staggering achievement in production and filmmaking, decades later.
Matrix series isn't just some movies for me. It's an emotion. Collecting pocket money with 2 friends to buy a superb quality DVD and searching every corner shop in small mountain town of ours in India for it. After school, watching Matrix together and then discussing it on school's playground. Movie that made us scratch our teenage heads as we didn't understand most of the things yet this movie was extraordinarily flamboyant and atleast 15 years ahead of it's time. Matrix Resurrection gave that huge dose of nostalgia and emotions watching Neo & Trinity together again after 20 years.
/*@@psmax59800 this is what happiness feels like... a wonderful emotion based on simplicity that your stupid and miserable consumerism life with all your money cant buy it 😅
Yes!! He looks majestic and so confident in that scene. And showing the old and the new..the katana and the gun. Plus, that part of the soundtrack doesn't hurt either.
They went through 28 CTS's to make this scene. And Morpheus is such a badass, hes thr closest thing to Neo, but still operates without being the One, that means he's accomplishing every task with greater odds against him
0:25 realistically speaking, those 50 AE bullets from the agents' iconic Desert Eagle would have cut thru that Cadillac door like butter and kill Trinity with no issues, especially when this as been somewhat vallidated in the first movie when Smith wallbanged Morpheus' ankle as he was running towards Neo on the hellicopter
Idk anything about guns so i can’t comment on that but u could theorize that the machines when making the matrix didn’t know how a bullet would accurately pierce through different surfaces, so when coded in they allowed those bullets to pierce through walls but not the metal of a car
@@mia-mf5xt the machines fought a war against humans with guns in the real world, I'm sure they know how weapons work in the real world if they were using and building them.

This is probably the best action scene piece of all time. Not a lot comes close to how incredible this whole highway segment is.

0:32 Orbán Viktor vs Mèszàros Lőrinc😂
How could these 1999/2003 movies have so many memorable/iconic and epic moments like this but not Matrix Resurrection 2021 movie?
because revolutions was in real world, and look wasted like mad max movies
Because no one knows how to make a good remake nowadays. Especially in liberal Hollywood now. Everything is politics first, good movie content later.
This is how the events of part two came to be - “ something has to be done about your kids “
Time was trying to fix itself , balance, in my opinion.

If anyone asks you “name a movie that was ahead of its time”…. This movie was it. 100%
when i first saw this scene in the cinema it was glorious and intense as hell, was on the edge of my seat, especially when trinity got on the bike and started zipping through the traffic, just sooo good !!
That motorbike is so much faster than the cars though, that it's a little silly that Trinity didn't just open the throttle and leave the agents for dust.
Yes i Saw it in cinema too. It was one of the most impressive scene in a movie for me
2:24 the real reason we all came here

Beast mode music, action... All of it.

First watched Matrix when I was 8 rewatched at 20 and t was cool when I heard there was a resurrection I was excited but disappointed while watching it it wasn't intense as Matrix .... And that fake Morpheus was annoying ...
Awesome cover image 😄
4:26 LOL! He slams the sword in about half an arm's length from the top of the trailer, then we see him jump down onto it about five feet down at the bottom of the trailer.
First time I noticed that!
Maybe he did the first one in order to slams at the bottom idk 😂

I forgot how fucking good this movie is. The Agent transitions are so well done. Especially at 3:56, just smart, practical, intelligent filmmaking.
This is how you write a strong female character.

Who wouldn't have balls turn to steel when you're literally riding with Trinity
This is possibly the most terrifying car/motorcycle chase scene in movie history. I wonder how much is special effects and how much is actual stunts?
Most of the motorcycle riding was all stunts, the cars were mostly cgi. The whole highway was constructed just for the set though.
Don’t mean to be pervy but trinity’s buns when she mounts the bike🔥🔥🔥😂

@@drphot6050 One letter off, OK.
@@Ayixliayou’re beautiful
Weird to think that, in many ways, this sequence was the end of this brand of filmmaking. Where CGI was just a pure supplement to the insane amount of practical stunts, choreography and brilliant editing, before it just became cheaper to fabricate everything in post.
It’s still a staggering achievement in production and filmmaking, decades later.
One of the many things the old Matrix movies have that Resurrections don’t, they had style.
Merovingian wasn’t lying.

I get goose bumps from Morpheus's form with sword and gun as he takes out the twins...the man exudes cool as he decimates, lol.
My favorite scene it’s up there when Neo dodged the bullets in slow motion
Yes!! He looks majestic and so confident in that scene. And showing the old and the new..the katana and the gun. Plus, that part of the soundtrack doesn't hurt either.
Such a Gunz moment...
And the sound effects of the katana cutting through everything somehow "synergizes" with the music.
Pretty wild how Morpheus and Trinity were able to deal with both the Agents AND the Twins while on the highway.
All while slinging a little man from roof to roof like a boomerang 😂
4:39 Morpheus acting BADASS!!!
"We are getting aggravated..." love that line
This whole sequence alone is better than the entire Matrix Resurrections film.
Yeah exactly
They went through 28 CTS's to make this scene.
And Morpheus is such a badass, hes thr closest thing to Neo, but still operates without being the One, that means he's accomplishing every task with greater odds against him
Notice just about all the cars on the highway are General Motors vehicles
We seriously need more action scenes in movies like when Morpheus takes out the twins. Everything about that scene just gets you hyped.
Good ole practical effects.
after all these years the beat still slaps
My gosh does it! Like the ending of Maneater and What Goes Around/Comes Around.
Juno was and is still a beast
