1 game analyzed well is worth more that 1000 games.
I realized this when i saw very little improvement despite playing thousands of games+ "analyzing" them with the engine. It was only when i really started doing the analysis correctly that i started to see improvements again
What got me over 2000 and beyond was changing the way I analyzed material. Firstly I don't use the engine on the first round of analysis at all and I try to find where i miss played and reflect on what led to errors. common errors you then work on (opening mistakes, look at and understand lines - endgame mistakes look at and practice similar endgames ect ect) I also reflect on the psychology, what i was thinking during the game that led to the error and make a mental note not to do that again ect ect. The second round of analysis I use the bar again trying to figure out why I went wrong and going through the same process. and only on the 3rd round to i look at the lines.
I would also really recommend spamming endgame material at least once a day. Endgames are simple enough to really train you ability to calculate accurately which is why almost every grandmaster started with mastering the endgame rather than openings.

Love it! On average how long does it take you for one of those analyses?

@@Zenmindchess On average for a rapid game maybe 5-60min but could be anywhere from 2 min to several hours. Depending on the length, time controls, complexity and result.
A won blitz game lasting 15 moves which ended with your opponent blundering a piece will have vastly different analysis time to a classical game lasting 70 moves with a queen king and pawn endgame. Also for a won game I skip the 1st analysis and start with the eval bar. Unless I know i made and error which my opponent didn't spot
Those are extreme examples on the opposite side of the spectrum
It is however still important to at least briefly look over the blitz game and to spend a loooot of time on the classical game. I would not suggest using anything lower than blitz to improve

@@VRietySociety That's some pretty impressive dedication. But you're right, I think it is a must if you really want to take your chess to the next level and improve faster. You have to analyze and learn from your mistakes. I'll keep that in mind - I had a Google doc where I would write down all of my mistakes after games, highlight the big ones or repetitive mistakes and go back and look at them and I do think that helped. Cheers!

@@Zenmindchess keeping track of mistakes and and addressing the most frequent ones with specific training is a great idea to improve.

Wesley, Fantastic games, sir! The fact the trolls love making fun of you shows you are making an impact somewhere. On a chess Facebook group recently, I came across a post saying you make fake content and you cheat using an engine. It's hilarious, however, it's also depressing.

Thank you! ;) A Facebook group really? Well yes I suppose I'll take the trolls as a compliment - however insane it shows the internet to be. I am not particularly talented, I lose and blunder like crazy and the truth is staging videos would take so much longer than simply hopping into a rapid game and recording it...The internet is a strange place - it gives hateful and immature people a voice and a sense of protection whereas in the real world they know it would never be tolerated. It is depressing but what they want most is for their behavior to affect the person and so however difficult it is at times I try to just see them as small barking dogs and continue walking down the street and let them bark.

Welcome! Yeah that first game was fun with the tactic. I'm American but I lived in France for 6 years, so after a quick year back home in the US I've just recently moved back to Paris. That might explain the perfect accent ;)
