I own a soft shell version, very well made and obviously slightly longer to setup. I'm glad you changed the ladder angle, was getting worried for a second LOL. Great truck man, love it!!

Nice setup. Was thinking of getting this due to the same reason of awning obstruction. Will be good to watch how you install the tent and awning on video. Cheers!

Cant wait to use my Bronco like this. Haven’t yet, every time I schedule a day out it always gets intervened by a last minute emergency.

Have you time yourself setting up/taking down? I have the walkabout for a year and half now. Spent nearly 60 days in it. Love everything about it except the setup/take down.

I really enjoy this tent as well. I have not timed myself, because it is so easy to do. It is definitely faster than the ground tent I used previously!!!

Do you have any problems with the tailgate since you are hanging so much weight off the back? Ford never announced the weight limit on the reinforced raptor but the base version is 133lb including the tires. I'm on the fence if I should get the same tire platform. Since i'm putting on a rotopax and maxtrax it'll probably weight around 160ish. Looks like it is close to your setup. And do you just do mild overlanding stuff or baja style off roading?

      @FiveAngelsOutdoor  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for reaching out. The American Adventure Lab shelf with side components weighs just over 20 lbs. The shelf has a weight limit of 100lbs. I have not had any issues at this point. I typically use this shelf for a proposed tank, firewoood, or random weight items. I am in overlanding mode. No Baja.
I may, at some point, look at upgraded hinges like the ones from BroncBuster.

Very nice setup and rig, congrats on your build. What was the issue with the Braptor? Was it the fuse box? Happy that you seem to have got that sorted out.
We have a BadSas 4 door with the TrailRax roof and heretic lightbar including the sides, similar to what you have. We also have the 23Zero 270 peregrine awning using the smaller TrailRax awning brackets. I’m looking to now purchase a RTT where your setup is just perfect! A couple of questions? Would I need to replace the awning bracket for the larger type? Is the X3 better as it lifts higher than the awning? Not sure of the configuration there. How did you attach the RTT to the rails? What was the install like? Did you require a seal team to lift and connect? There’s only two of us and we’re 5’ and 5’6” lol! More than just a few questions but I hope you can give us more insights before we take the plunge and purchase. Thanks!!!
    Chris and Tricia.

Hey, thanks for watching and commenting!!!
We have had a few issue :( The initial electrical issue Ford replaced the the Fuse Junction Box. They also replaced the PCM and the starter, and then the last piece after that was all said and done was a loose wire.
We also needed the TCB around the alternator completed due to muddy water intrusion into the alternator, which required a replacement alternator and then the addition of the newly designed alternator shield to protect this thing from happening again.
      Regarding the setup.
      1. I have the TrailRax brackets that are not the low profile ones.
      trailrax.com/collections/trailrax-accessories/products/roof-rack-90-bracket
Getting a tent would not really dictate a move from the normal to the high for the tent install. *I did recently add the new 270 degree bracket, which is meant to give additional strength ad support for 270 awnings
      trailrax.com/collections/trailrax-accessories/products/270-degree-awning-bracket
      2. I fee that the X3 (or X2) is my preferred, because it deploys up, then opens, which raises the point where the top tilts. This allows the tent to be mounted closer to the awning, so it is more centered. Other style tents would require room to open, which off-sets the tent away from the awning, and in my mind, that looks weird.
      3. I attached the tent to the rails with some "feet" that I had from a previous rig. They are pretty much the same thing that TrailRax sells. I have 3 pairs of these (YOu would then need to order 4 more tent rail bolts for the extra foot, because tent only assumes two mounting points).
      trailrax.com/collections/trailrax-accessories/products/roof-rack-tent-mount
      4. The X3 is only around 150 lbs, so my wife and kids helped lift it up. Once one end is up there, you can slide it forward. Was a little tricky to then position and get the bolts threaded and aligned, but fine in the end. You will need more that the two of you :)

@@FiveAngelsOutdoor thank you sir! Happy that the Braptor is up and running for you again, nuts that it could have been a simple loose wire.
This is really good insight to what I’ll likely need. Certainly the corner bracket and the mounting feet will be purchased. A question about the mounting feet, and perhaps this should be directed to TrailRax; their diagrams are not the best, how do you connect the 16 bolts to the slotted rails? Seems wider than the cross member profile. Is it too much to ask for a photo (which may be a challenge) of your configuration there please?
Thank you again for your detailed comments. The X3 is ordered where I will reach out to TrailRax in the meantime. Cheers!

@@FiveAngelsOutdoor the blackout is clutch though. We have the smaller x2 cuz the x3 didn't exist yet when we bought it. Now with a jlu Rubicon we don't have room for the x3 cuz I have storage boxes mounted on my roof rack in front of it
