- At the heart of Cambodia, a huge and bounteous lake forms the greatest reserve of fresh water in South-East Asia. Its name is Tonlé Sap.
This is where Ku Yann, a fisherman and crocodile farmer has always lived. He and his family live in a floating house. They go to school by boat, move merchandise around by boat… there are even boats with ingenious hanging gardens for growing vegetables.
But in addition to these floating gardens, Ku Yann also takes great care of his crocodile farm.

Direction: Bernard Guerrini & Mathias Schmitt
Production: ZED & ARTE France

They even float their farm and garden...
It's like the Waterworld movie but this has trees and soil...
I love it when they catch snakes and feed them to crocodiles...
I would love to see a full documentary on this
Go make one
Yes!
The full documentary is listed in the video description. It's a good documentary.

Me too bro.
I’m Cambodian. Thank you making this documentary. For those who want to explore more, feel free to make a visit to my country. A land of smile ... There many things to explore here in Cambodia, from the jungle, country side life to the city of Phnom Penh ...

I have lived in Cambodia for 20 years.I have flown my microlight all over the Tonle Sap.This is the best documentary I have ever seen.Just one problem. It's too short.
COUNTRIES LIKE FRANCE USA SREE LANKA PAKISTAN AND INDIA HAVE CAPITAL CRISES NOW AND THIER NATURAL RESOURCES NOW UNDER RICH PEOPLE SHOULD LEARNED FROM THESE COMBODIANS
I'm sure I've seen this documentary on discovery channel many years back
Wow! Waterworld of real life. Amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I was fortunate to visit and see this community in person just a few days ago. Beautiful people and culture.
Meanwhile.. my lazy ass is watching this while laying down on my couch with the a.c on full blast ..lol
yea great aint it lol
I appreciate people like this, they will help support the survival of the human race
Its amazing how some people with no access to the vast information in the internet could have a better understanding of conservation and ecology then most ignorant city people. Pengasius nasutus are greatly under treat from irresponsible fishing practices and invasive species, it’s nice to see this guy put moral values before money
When i thought that i have seen it all, thanks for uploading this documentary more love from Kenya 🇰🇪
Thanks for an amazing video
This was so beautiful 🤩 wish it was longer
Live action water world lets go! But for real what a interesting life these people live.
I'm not the smartest man, but I do know to NEVER piss off a man who keeps crocodiles.
This is how everyone should live. We should respect nature above our lives
Lmao no.
hell no
Awesome...these people are very industrious, multitasking and hard working. So proud of them. They are teaching us little things we can do, that costs virtually nothing.
I would 💕 to visit this place many blessings to these people

Yeah, I'll pass on the terrifying pit of crocodiles beneath my rickety floor.
They are constantly in flood, but never complain
I'm moving to the lake😊
The major challenge is to keep this lake clean...seems they are sucessfull in that
Kick ass!
It's crazy to be completely on top of water. Don't They get Dengue or Malaria?

My country
What if those crocodiles scape??? Scary! 😱😱😱
i hope the population of watersnakes stays stable
families need to all put in on a few cheaper fish finders hell i'd donate 1 to a family. i've been fishing all my life on Columbia River that divides Oregon & Washington Sturgeon can get bigger than some boats! Salmon, Steelhead, bass, catfish, carp, lamprey, shad & drive hour & half to coast for tuna, crabbing when Grandpa & my Father finished serving the Navy they fished & took me when i could walk and same for my son now 21, fishing is in the blood
Were do they go for restroom 🚾
this is literally the real life Waterworld
I'm watching this eating a mcdonald and boy am I thankful
🥰🥰♥️♥️✌️
Am worried if there's mosquitos and how they cop with health challenges
There is, and they are. I live in Cambodia, Dengue is the biggest problem, but Malaria as well
Just get vaccinated and all your worries are over. Dr. Fauci 😀
@@donnysath9084 There is no vaccination for malaria or dengue
Thank you for making a document about my country🤍🤍
what is gonna happen if the crocodile accidentally releases ? is it not dangers for the people who like ti swim in there?
A floating freaking backyard garden
❤🎉❤
it wonders me what happen if u push someone down there... would they instant be ripped apart?
they feed the fishes with thier feces ang the fish feed them by thier bodies
👍
Millions of snakes?!? Gators?!? I’ve swam in Tonle Sap.
I just have one question where do they poop and throw ? Where do they drink the water from ? Weird lifestyle
How about their comfort room?
Straight to the lake where the fishes eats them XD
Quiero escuchar en español
The only problem with this documentary is the fact that it ends.
How did they dump human waste?
Imagine the crocs get let loose..
I wonder where they do the call of nature
I could only imagine the amount of mosquitos you'd need put up with living here
5:28 plants using up oxygen?
Yes Yes fish everything empty, sounds like a great idea
How do people living on the top of the water uses the washroom everyday ?,where did it goes ?
Take a wild guess
@@alexdaland lol😅
My greatest concern with this lifestyle has always been sanitation..toilets in particular.
Tonle sap water is go and reverse. Amazing 🤩. Water go and back. As people known water flow never go back, but Cambodia tonle sap is back. HHa 😂
