Ahhhhh, the good ole days. I remember watching this live (at 16 years of age). If I'd of known they were the good ole days I'd of cherished them much more. But, alas: they're gone. So often we flippantly disregard the moment (to hurry on through to the future). Then, when we get to the future, we fondly look back at the past, thus longing for what we couldn't wait to get past. We're such a dichotoized contradiction of ourselves. Nostalgia is such a powerful element of the human experience. More than likely, within 10 years time, we'll look back at the here and now, and long for it as "the good ole days". It's a reason for pause and reflection------not in regard to days gone by-------but in regard to the here and now.
They were fast disappearing by the mid-80s. Even this sounds way too influenced by hip-hop-- as it was sposta be. If you lived thru the 50s, you heard music from the 30s, doo wop, rock 'n' roll-- then came the British Invasion & Motown.
@@slukky Pop culture was a 1900s phenomenon; a trail that was always going to get blazed too fast. What happened approaching the millenium was a crescendo of everything learned still being built on with what turned out an unfortunately misguided optimism for an impending future. It was eclectic but then it seems, some kind of profound creative crash genuinely did occur around the great reset of the what would become very much thee digits.
