Season 6 is when the character plot armour became noticeable. Jon looked like he was gonna die at the battle of the bastards. Like in season 1, Ned Stark was the main character and he died, so you knew main characters were vulnerable too. But by season 6, a lot of the main characters seemed invincible
The show started falling apart in seasons 5 and 6 but it was still interesting. Seasons 7 and 8 were just awful. D&D really messed up when it came to the masterminds and manipulators. Varys, Littlefinger, Doran, Sansa, and Tyrion were supposed to be really smart but they ended up being pretty stupid.
I don't comment that much but you guys have been a pleasure to watch. Out all the stuff I watch this channel has a really good community. You have tegrity. South Park joke in case you don't watch it.
I can separate bad seasons of shows from the whole of the show. Usually. I did it for Buffy, Angel, Community, Arrested Development, Dexter, that 70's Show, and Scrubs. Probably far more than those too. But on those ones the dip in quality isn't so...pronounced? Retroactive? Damaging? Maybe cause I held GoT to a higher standard than I held any of those shows. GoT had such epic quality and subtext, to see it not manage to stick the landing is a big let down. And the fact that it limped to a crap ending while destroying the complexity of many of it's best characters meant that it destroyed the story and the characterization that I really enjoyed. That ending pretty much tainted everything that came before it. So It's harder for me to separate things. In most shows it's like each season is a separate dinner, with each course complimenting the one that came before it. If you get served something you find disgusting you can just opt out, while still savoring what you've already eaten. I treat GoT like a delicious multilayered cake that I saw a chef slave over for seasons, then he took a shit on it and served it to me. I know I could just scrap off the shit, and the layers below would still be good, but.....i just can't manage it.
I think episode 3 will always claim the top for us in terms of sheer, cathartic thrills, but when it comes to approaching classic GoT, I’d say ‘Knight’ is definitely season 8’s best. And probably one of the best of the lter seasons, yeah.
Jen Smith Was a good episode but after that they just couldn't end it fast enough, most rushed end season to any show ever. All that should have played out over 3 full length 10 episode seasons...
Had a lot of issues with season 8, but I also liked a lot of things in it too. I was disappointed, and amazed. It's still my favorite show, even though it didn't stick the landing.
First 6 seasons are great, 7 is tolerable, but 8 is just downright bad. I'd never just the first 6 seasons on the latter two. For me, game of thrones ends after season 6. Those seasons I am going to go back to, 7 maybe, not 8 not though
@@melodymckane4820 7 wasnt as bad but it set up 8 to fail in my opinion. 7 and 8 were originally meant to be one season and when viewed that way i find 7 starts to look almost as bad.
I loved S6 while it was airing. Now I just like it. Hindsight’s a bitch. The timelines were a bit sloppy in the first half. The north & south were out of sync thanks to southern teleportation. A lot of fans turned into unsatisfied critics during S6.
The problem extends to the books as well. Books 1-3 are fantastic. 4 and 5 are a convoluted, downright boring at times, mess. So sadly, i always had a feeling they wouldnt really stick the landing. Its why i think Martin is struggling so much. Master at character and world building but cant keep thr narrative thread moving forward.

2:27 Greg, You loved that moment?... Well that's... fine... Well, I HATED it!
Greg also likes to watch the toilet flush.
have you watched GoT Season 8 Pitch Meeting yet?
it's probably the best GOT S8 parody/bashing/critique I've seen yet, and I've seen some good ones.
Agreed. The 1st 3 episodes were good. The problem is that they tried to make the ending really unpredictable.
That editing was sick!
wait what? What is this game of thrones you speak of?...... ( "latest season erased my memory" ) Me- Don´t make me remember!

react to the Game of Thrones season 8 pitch meeting from Screen Rant.
Still one of the greatest series ever created

Shout out to Walters theme playing in the background around 6:00 lol
The real person who should have sat the throne was no one. Let each kingdom rule themselves.
Season 8 was such a f you to every fan GOT had. I'm trying to pretend it never happend, I loved all of the 7 previous seasons

Let's get these guys to 1 million subs!!!!!!!
You need to watch the GOT S8 devoid of logic 1-3 series
Hey Rejects!!! Joe Taslim is going to be Sub-Zero in the Mortal Kombat movie.
NOT 14 ... SHE WAS LIKE 12 when she was first on the show
I will die on the hill that 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' was the best episode they had in awhile (late seasons)

You want nothing Jon Snow....
Honest Trailer was the only thing good in S8.
For rewatchability, you can end after The Long Night, with the idea of the real threat taken care of.
