- Does your paint look and feel rough?! When was the last time it was decontaminated with a clay bar? In today's video, Jason and Nick determine which clay bar is necessary and how to use it on this Hyundai Veloster. You would think that a brand new car would be pristine! However, even new cars and garage kept show cars contain contamination that needs to be removed before it clogs buffing pads, induces extra scratches, and blocks fresh coats of wax from sticking to the surface. 1 question: should you use clay bar before washing the car or after ?
Hi there! Use a clay bar before applying any coatings for best results.
Hey Nick can I use the clay bar for my oxidized headlights. And if so, what do you suggest the type of bar that I could use.
Hey Danny! A Medium or Heavy Clay Bar may remove some oxidation but wet sanding would be the most effective method for restoring heavily oxidized headlights.

Hi Ryan! After the wash the surface can be clay barred, then you can either polish the vehicle or move directly on to coatings.

What order do you clay bar? wash the car, then clay bar then wax? or what order should you do it?
Hey Russ! That's correct, wash the vehicle to remove heavier, loose filth before using a clay bar to thoroughly decontaminate the paintwork and then lock in shine while repelling harsh elements by applying your favorite coatings.

doing a paint correction, after pre wash im getting ready to clay bar. can i leave the car wet and start the clay bar process while the car is wet or does it have to be dry and use the luber?. 2nd question do i have to remove the clay with micro fiber or can i rinse it off and dry to get rerady to polish?
Hi Brent! Thanks so much for your message. The vehicle doesn't have to be totally dry to use a clay bar but it is best to use Clay Luber for proper lubrication. We recommend using a clean microfiber towel to wipe away spent product before moving to the next step of the detailing process.

Hey Cindy! Glad you enjoyed the video. It is perfectly fine to roll and knead your clay bar to a fresh side and decontaminate the glass, no need for a new clay bar unless you can no longer find a clean side.

Does claying take off old coats of butter wet wax?
Hey there! The clay bar will not remove coatings, use Clean Slate or machine polish to ensure the surface is totally bare.

Can you clay bar your wheels? Like the barrels and lip? I have 12 wides
Yes you can clay bar wheels, I would use decon spray to get rid of the iron and other contaminants and then use Diablo or maybe citrus wash and gloss and then clay bar. After i would recommend jet seal and max coat wheel guard

Alfonso Rubio well polishing would be the next step if you want to do a paint correction. It’s optional otherwise you skip over to ceramic, glaze, sealent, and wax
