These are my two Scottish Highlands, Hamish and Kyloe, and some of their adventures living in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, along with their other farm buddies.

Oh, this is so cool. They are definitely having a conversation with you. They don't know what you're saying and you don't know what they're saying, but they're responding to the sound of your voice and your tone and I swear to God I can hear the affection in their voices.
I have a Black Angus cow named Annabelle and she is a total sweetheart . I named her after Annabelle-s Wish, an old Hallmark kids Christmas movie. She also came with the name Anna so it was perfect. I love her. I saved her from being a meat cow. She's sterile because she was a twin (according to the vet). She's amazing and a survivor. I bottle fed her for 4+ months, every day, so now she thinks I'm her mama. We cuddled yesterday. Cows are literally just big dogs that eat hay. Annabelle likes to sniff and lick the chickens and ducks when I hold them and bring them over to visit her.
I want to experience this kind of life. The beauty of living in the country, the peace and quiet, and surrounded by big horned bulls and animals. Away from all the noisy, and yucky environment. The busy hustle and bustle.
Some little babies need their nibbles, before the main course. I would imagine that a 1 ton bull would eat almost all the time. The piggy hiding behind the goat was classic, “see if you could get me some snacks also.” Everyone turn on your cuteness mode!!! 🐂🐂🐐🐖 Give is snacks, please. 💖🐽💖
Something odd about the way these big animals act. They're acting just like my house cat. Spoilt and demanding. Takes anxiety away just by watching . Thanks to you and your fur babies.

I do not eat pork for this very reason. I would never eat dog so pork is off limits also. Did not ask about a girlfriend.

We evolved from a primitive organisms and we still function on the same basis. Survival first, intelligence second. I highly doubt that we'll ever get to a point in our civilization where we'll fix all the bs like that. I mean... people kill people in wars, and that's normal and ordinary for us to accept on a global level. Change can come pretty much only if they make it like illegal or sth like that, people don't care.
its the same, we have 19 hens and 1 rooster. the way they cluck outside our windows all day you would think we are starving them when in reality we feed them a little every couple of hours as they are free ranged in our fenced in yard of a couple of acres. Every time we go outside they think it means food for them lol. When we come home from beach, errands or whatever they run all the way out to the gate to see if we have food or to cluck at us that we haven't fed them in awhile.

I enjoy your menagerie. Would love to be there scratchin' and currying too. A few years ago the Awake magazine did a most enlightening article on your Highlands. Those horns are used to break land. It's obvious they are dextrous with them, gentle with you too.
oh my goodness...if I was babysitting, someone would have to deliver the food separate because I would want give them so many treats because they are so cute... it would ruin their schedule... 2 h before dinner on the first day, this overwhelming cuteness would have me handing out the rest of the week's food! lol they are like children... and I am definitely alike a grandma!
Aren't they struggling with your climate? It's pretty harsh here in Scotland, that's why they have that hair and chunky body. How are they doing in summer compared to other breeds? The best-looking cows imo, and you take good care of them.
This is the kind of life I would love to have someday. First I need to get a lot of money and after that, move to a better country because in mine (Colombia), country side is not safe and you would get killed .
