- Perfume Collection & Cleanout. Over the past 10 years, I've slowly acquired a collection of perfumes. Today I'm cleaning out my collection and letting go of several fragrances that I no longer wear. As always, no product will be thrown away. All products are being passed onto family, friends and/or donated to my local Women Helping Women shelter.
Funny how we may not intend to "build a collection" but yet it happens because we're searching for something. My perfume collection built up because I was searching for a signature scent.
A few years ago I found my signature scent, Bootzie Oil. I purchase it at a local boutique in Wailea. It's a natural perfume oil, made on Maui and is exclusive to the Maui Enchantress boutique. It smells like a tropical beachy tanning oil... with warm vanilla and exotic spices. Between their original and Tropique (a vanilla-coconut beachy goodness), it pretty much blows away anything else in my collection. Which is why I'm sitting here today with you fine people, cleaning out my perfume stash. ;)
For those who have asked about where to find Bootzie Oil... As far as I know, it's only available on Maui and on the Maui Enchantress website (www.mauienchant...)

Fragrances are one of my vices, along with cosmetics, scarves and costume jewelry, last count, I had 43 bottles, including colognes, oils and body sprays. Usually I get five bottles, put them in my vanity and wear just those for a month.The following month, I put them in back in my closet and get five and repeat. That way I use them all.
Anytime I'm in need of inspiration to de-clutter I watch one of your fantastic videos!!! I did this just the other day and passed on 4 fragrances that I know I will never wear again or haven't worn in the first place. Now I have 6 fragrances which I know I love and will wear! Now on to my nail polish collection!!!!!
I have 2. I dont ever have more than that because they will go bad and waste. When I empty one I will repurchase or try something new :)
Good girl!! After I get through these, I don't want to own any more than 3 at a time, ever again lol. ;)
I think it mainly comes from the fact that I only like a few scents lol Usually anything vanilla or coconut and I do love Britney Spears Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy. Thats about it lol

depends on how the perfumes are stored, I have a lot of bottles and a lot of them are more then 3 years old and they still smell the same, as long as they are stored away from the light and heat they should last longer than 3-4 years

The "mystery bottle" is Oscar De La Renta's "Oscar". Judging from what your other scents are, I don't think you would like it, lol. Way to go on reducing!

i cleaned out my perfumes like 6 months ago and went from almost 20 perfumes to 6-7, it feels so good to clean out my perfumes and not have so many choices that its so overwhelming, now i remember to wear perfume everyday now that i can reach for my favs and not feel obligated to finish perfumes that r not my favs :]] btw, so nice to have ur hubby help make decisions for u XD whenever i ask my bf for his opinion he always just goes with anything lol
I Love ALL of your videos- older ones and new- interesting seeing the transitions. Also after the first viewing I tend to let them run several times again while I do my own de-cluttering and cleaning....feels great to hear your voice and inspiration that there is pleasure in what I used to dislike: cleaning, clearing house and by extension one's life....
Excellent job of cleaning out. I only wish I can do as great a job as you have done. I have soooooooo many -- its really shameful. And -- I want to buy more!! Can you believe it? The thing is I have to sit down like you and give them all the old sniiferoo as you say and then just let go!! Yeah! I think that's what I'll do. Thanks Chrisine -- for another inspiring video!!
Hi Christine, I always look forward to your videos. I spray my perfume in my hair when it's a little damp after washing it and I can really enjoy it through out the day. One of my favorites is Green Tea Scent Spray by Elizabeth Arden, I get a lot of compliments on it.

Christine- this video could not have come at a more perfect time! I have been obsessed with fragrance lately, and I was literally taking notes as I listened to you talk about the perfumes you liked and didn't like. I actually bought the Pacifica Indian Coconut one (delicious) and also got their Ruby Hawaiian Guava scent (yum!)

Signature scent has got to be Dolce and Gabana Light Blue
Plus a purse roller ball of Banana Republic's Wildbloom
I even have a bottle of Avon perfume in a giraffe bottle that was my Grandma's. It must be 30 years old (I never wear it, just open it once in a while to remind me of her-still smells ok) Funny how scents can trigger such strong memories

OMG!!! I bought some of the original bootzie oil and it's DELICIOUS... A little goes a long way. I can hardly wait to see how others respond to me. I also bought the Tropique version but the original (pink) is yummy!!! Thank you for sharing this find with us...
The one with the white flower top is Chloe Narcisse Real Perfume Miniatura Mint
So I have 25 full size bottles of perfume, 30 miniatures and 15 body sprays.... Apart from the lovely fragrance I love the bottles. I think they are just so pretty :)

I currently own 3 fragrances - Chanel Chance, a rollerball of Marc Jacobs Daisy and a VS body mist in Vanilla Lace. My signature scent was Paris by YSL but i used up my last bottle and now I'm just working on trying different things while keeping my collection small. :)
I own maybe 4 or 5...one is full size and the others are small, plus some samples which I am currently working through. You did a fantastic job clearing out your perfumes! Quick too! Thanks for the inspiration! :)

My signature fragrance is the Essentially Escada Delicate Notes. I found it and wore it for my wedding day and now it's so special to me I can't stop wearing it. I didn't know they had a solid version!!! I must find it. My second perfume is Mac's Turquatic. Surprisingly it's the one I get the most compliments on from men!!
I was so surprised how lovely Jessica Simpson's fragrances were. I have Fancy, Midnight Fancy and I Fancy You...they are all different but nice in their own way. Midnight Fancy is suited well for evening and winter time. Fancy is an anytime favorite of mine. I love the warm notes.
Lauren by Ralph Lauren is my all-time favorite. Been wearing it for a very long time. My second favorite is Clinique's Happy.
Hi Christine, I love your videos and find them motivating and inspiring. I ordered some Bootzie oil form the Enchantress website and took a chance as it did not give the amount that would be charged for postage. I live in Australia and by the time it arrived I was charged $52 for the smallest rollerball bottle :-( it is gorgeous but I only use it on special occasions.

I left a comment already, but forgot to say I have and love the scent "Loves Baby Soft". I repurchased it a year ago when I saw it in a store. That was my first perfume as a teenager, and wearing it brings back memories. :)
I love these sorts of videos. I have 10 perfumes and I honestly use them all. However, many of your cleaning videos have inspired me to purge stuff and pare down my collections, so thanks :)
Perfume is one thing I have no problem using up! No matter what perfume I use it doesn't last very long on me so I always have to top it up throughout the day so I can go through one bottle of perfume like every 3-6 months depending on if it's a light or a heavy scent. Loved this video, I love seeing you declutter it always gets me in the mood to do the same thing :) x x x
I'm pretty certain that little "unnamed" bottle is Oscar by Oscar de la Renta. My mom always had tons of those small bottles when I was younger. It's not a fragrance I would personally wear at this time in my life, but it always makes me think of her :)

I think that tiny bottle is by Oscar de la Renta. My very first designer perfume was Oscar Bamboo by Oscar de la Renta so I recognize the shape of the bottle

I have 0 perfumes or anything scented. They all give me headaches, watery eyes and sneezes (even the scents I like).

Please make ASMR videos. You'd be amazing at it. (If you haven't heard of asmr, they're videos that make people relax and get pleasant tingles. Hauls and perfume/makeup collections are very common).
Awesome job Christine! I know you've been collecting perfumes for a while now. I always loved seeing your perfume cabinet, and how well you took care of them. Less is always more :)
I have six perfumes and only allow myself to get a new one when one is empty.
I think your mystery scent is Oscar de la Renta. I used to wear it years ago. Too bad you didn't like the Beach and Miss Dior. They are 2 of my favorites! Hope they go to a good home!

Great job cleaning out. I don't like to keep too many because I know I won't finish them before the scent expires/changes. I am working on finishing up J'Adore which I've had for 2 and a half years. There are so many great scents out there but in reality I have to go to the firm everyday and need something that's not too sexy, sweet or immature so Philosophy Amazing Grace fits the bill and I just use samples for date nights and such. Perfumes are something personal I think, you are wearing them because you like them, it's a part of you....you are not wearing a scent just because someone wants to smell that....
Versace Bright Crystal is such a really good fragrance, and u not keep it, why? Is the smell changed and turn bad? I'm impressed with Hot Couture, Givency,i feel i want to try it after watched this video. I like the idea of clean out a huge perfume collection and give it away to family and friends and i also did the same. :)
Interesting collection you have. The main reason why fragrances go off or lose their scent is due to temperature fluctuation and storage. When I did my fragrance training when I was working at a major department store in Melbourne Australia back in the 80s we were told to always keep your perfumes in their boxes and store in a dry cool place. Also as you get older your nose and your hormones change. Also if you have any health issues that also can change the way certain perfumes will smell on your skin etc. I stick to my classics and I a few "new" ones.
Chanel No5, Chanel Cristalle, Shalimar, Mont Blanc Presence, Angel, Versace Crystal Noir, Christian Dior Hynotic, Narciso Rodriguez for her and Bvglari BLV II
I hate to see perfume go but Its better to only have what you love and re-home the rest. I think that tiny bottle you couldn't identify could be Oscar De La Renta. The Miss Dior Cherie is discontinued and quite sought after. Its better to give it to someone who will treasure it than to just pass it on. As always I love your videos.

I can't tolerate most perfumes, but I really love Philosophy Falling In Love. Way back in the 90's I loved a perfume called Sunflowers, can't remember who made it.

Perfume is the one area I have not let get out if hand (and nail stuff cause I don't use any). I only have two fragrances and one rollerball. I have coach poppy in a rollerball and bottle. It's my all time favorite. And Gucci gorgeous mandarin. I love seeing all your collection clean outs. I go back and rewatch them all the time!
I have the same problem with perfume but what I do, I try to give my friends a perfume that I don't want. so this way it's not a waste and they don't go bad . and the ones that I give away well puts a smile on my friend's face because they know I always hook them up LOL

I will have to try the Jessica Simpson !!, I Love Victoria Secret's Body spray's and Lotion, my fave's are Vanilla Lace, Pure Daydream and Pure Seduction. and I do Love Pink Sugar also, and my old all time favorite is Hypnotic Poison Lotion, I get many compliment's from men and women when I wear any of these!.

I ordered a Bootzie Oil! SQUEE I got the Tropique one cause I love citrus & I can't afford the Harajuku Lovers G -sniffle- I checked out the Pacificas but I think I'm going to wait and see how I like the Bootzie Oil before I go buying any more perfume type stuff. Also, I can't afford those either, strictly speaking but Amazon Prime can usually make me believe otherwise. P.S. I left a note with my order so she'd know it was you who referred me...hopefully it scored you some points even though my order was miniscule.
I like all of pink so foxy's videos, except the declutter series . I don't understand the continuous need for them. Are you buying to many products ( perfume, makeup, etc) at one time or just easily bored with what you have, then feel the need to get rid it? One of those bottles of perfumes you were discarding looked barely used.
I really like J'adore by Dior and Aqua di Gio (I know it's for men - I just like the way it smells. I should probably check out the one they make for women) but there's no way I can afford any of them! I got a J'adore knock-off from Amazon but they're never exactly right. *le sigh* (I'm sure I could go over to Ross or Marshall's and find something I like.) I want to check out that Jessica Simpson one and the Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar after your descriptions for sure though!
Lovely Video. I own four perfumes: dior addict, victor&rolf flowerbomb, escada Moon sparkle and escada Born in paradise. I think we have a Similar perfume taste and i am dying to sniff that bootzie Oil... But unfortunately there is none here in Germany!!!!!

I've got 3. Kiehl's Vanilla and Cedarwood is my signature, Stella by Stella McCartney is my favorite for special occasions, and I have CK One Summer 2012 for when it's really hot.
My Favorite perfume is Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf, I also love Womanity by Thierry Mugler,and "So hooked on Carmella" eau de toilette by Benefit, I've learned to just get sample sizes, mini sizes or rollerball scents because I don't want them to go bad if I don't use them up.
Those are very nice perfumes:) a great fall winter one is Angel( I forget by who) it's a chocolatey warm musky scent. I also love Vic secrets Love spell all year. Another fAv is philosophy pure grace smells like clean soap. White linen and beautiful by Estée Lauder are classics as well. But older smelling. They remind me of when I was a kid and women around me wore them. If you like Escada my long time fav with him is Sexy graffiti and Ibiza hippie sooo sweet and floral very sexy!! Eternity summer is nice. Gosh I could go and on!!!
I love your videos! always looking foward for them! I'm happy that I don't have so many as you but for foundation, concealer, blusch and espacially lipsticks/lipgloss, it's a whole other story! Urgh! I have quite a few as well.. probably around 15 or so. I got rid of about 4 last year for different reasons, and there are about three more I want to give away. One of my favorites is called "Diva" and I got it in Puerto Vallarta for my honeymoon back in 1993. My husband loves it. I use it sparingly because I am afraid of running out. My other signature scent is "Poison" by Dior. Love love love that one.
I'm living in Bangkok Thailand and have been watching your vids for awhile now. Love all DIY and the cleanout session. You two have done good job and the vids are so inspirational. Keep up good work. I'm your fan.
I have perfumes that I have not worn for so long, so I should safe the pretty bottles, and also discard the rest. Being a nurse, I couldn't wear it to work, so I got in the habit of not wearing any scents. In Nova Scotia, whee I am visiting my parents currently, most places arenow all considered to be scent free,and you are not allowed to go out in public (to office buildings, doctors' offices,churches,hospitals, restaurants,etc) wearing perfume or any beauty products that are not scent free. There are a lot of people who fare poorly, and who have significant allergies to the various scents. I just found your video, and first of all, I just want to say that you have a nice video, and also you definitely have some that I would like to try like G by Gwen, Jessica Simpson, The Pacifica ones etc. But anyway, I don't know if anyone commented on the miniature one that you couldn't identify, but I am going to try. To me that little bottle looks like one made by Oscar De La Renta, and I could be wrong, but it looks does look very familiar. But anyway, that is all that I wanted to share. Thanks for sharing your collection, and taking the time to read my comment! P.S. If someone already answered identified that bottle. Sorry! I don't mean to sound like a broken record or anything answering about this "Mystery Bottle" when someone already has. It is just that I haven't read any comments at this point. I just stopped at that part of the video, and then typed this comment. But if someone did say that they think this is one by Oscar, then I feel a lot better knowing that I am not the only one who feels the same way. Lol! Most perfumes give me a headache so I'm always looking for "the one." So far I am in love with Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell (probably the only perfume I have ever been able to finish!) For men I love Clinique's Happy on my husband. Both of these have a pleasant smell that isn't too overpowering.
Ooh...body sprays and perfumes used to be a really bad weakness. I probably had over 50 at one point, probably 75% I had never used. I got rid of all but 10. I think my worst habit is if I like one that's pricey I'll use it non stop, until it's almost gone, then I save the rest, because I like it so much and don't want to repurchase, then when I finally use it again I don't like the smell anymore. That's not just perfumes I do that with either...horrible habit. I'm a love spell addict right now.
Does living in Hawaii make a difference if whether or not you wear perfume? Whenever I travel somewhere tropical I don't wear perfume because I get eaten alive by bugs. I don't have that problem in Chicago. :)
Im commenting before watching this, but I saw the title and was little oh no, because it seems like your perfume collection has stayed intact throughout all your videos. Anyway, great job on all your downsizing! After watching so many of your videos, It seems you are very level headed and smart!
Thank you! I now know the name of my perfume I got from whole foods. Pacifica! I have "blood orange" It was my signature sent for a while. I figured since it's from whole foods it has less toxic stuff in it. I wore it so much around 2013. I used it so much, some of the paint has faded off the bottle. Now, I probably only wear it once a week .
