Absolutely Real Time ! He explained in much more detail off-camera. I’m so glad Wilson finally agreed , for all our sakes. Otherwise we wouldn’t know what a Davis looks like. It was a small miracle!
Great documentation of these little known very rare Davis marbles by Stephen and WV marble guru Ron. The story of Davis marbles and the ultimate dig at the factory site as told by Ron on the collectors site All About Marbles.com actually brought tears to my eyes. I am the most fortunate recipient of 5 different Davis marbles gifted to me by Ron from the dig. While not the flashiest marbles in my collection they are top A-List examples for obvious reasons. Hens teeth! Thank you Stephen for enlightening marble collectors with another stupendous marble video.
Wow those Davis marbles are just outstanding really really beautiful I've been looking for some to purchase not much luck LOL but I'll keep searching I will be happy with just one Davis marble LOL thank you Mr Steven Barr you are the greatest in explaining history of these beautiful marbles we all appreciate you on behalf of all of us thank you Mr Steven Barr keep up the great work and let's keep on marbling good day
Once again, Stellar stuff 👍....I'm thinking this presentation on Davis will have more than a few collectors reexamining what they have. Nice work too all involved 😊
Wow ...this was so cool. Never heard of Davis but I scoured through all my display marbles, going to watch this video several more times before im more confident but I think I have a few . Thanks for sharing was very interesting
Thank you Stephen and a big thanks to Ron for sharing his story about these rare marbles. I can just imagine the excitement of being the first dig at the site.
Wow! Hit it out of the park with another great video! The knowledge shared by these guys is invaluable and preserving it, such a noble cause! Thank you all!
Nice Alex ! I’ve seen quite a few people your age that have caught the collecting bug for marbles. It makes for a great bonding hobby with the Grandkids 🔵
@@stephenbahrmarbles my grandsons took all my good ones a few years ago ones I had when I was a boy there aged 8yr and 10yr I was looking after them today next time I try and show them how to play it's a shame too see today's children missing out the 10yr on his mobile all day the younger one likes making dens in the woods
Thank you really like Ron. And yes I watch all your videos over and over hoping some knowledge will stay woth me thank you both for sharing your time and knowledge. May Ron Shepard RIP 🙏
@@stephenbahrmarbles I have not been to PR personally, it's on my bucket list, but Kirsti just got back, I will reach out and see what she has, I know she found marbles!
I just viewed that box of Davis in person last weekend while digging some Davis up at Cairo. Found around 15 identifiable Davis so far out of the Cairo dig. Lots of the yellow lightnings that I dug are fractured. Only dug two yellow lightnings and that aren’t fractured. All but one fluoresced orange, so perhaps Cairo also made some clear based yellow marbles but there appears to be no Cairo cullet with that color…
Thanks for the update insert! I grabbed about two buckets of cullet from Cairo grounds, I’ll start looking though them. As far as how much Davis and Cairo bought and sold with each other, I’m not 100% sure, no one knows exactly. I would think the more you dig a certain type from the grounds = the more likely it was produced there. The mystery continues…
I don't know if you knew an Ed Heinbaugh or not but he was my uncle. I grew up mowing grass and doing chores for marbles. I remember my very first florescent marble he gave me. I have great memories of a first class marble collection and remember his office with cases and cases of high end marbles. I've just started watching your videos but have to say they bring back alot of memories. I'm surprised I still remember names and patterns. Thanks for the videos.
@Stephen Bahr Bob block said Ed heinbaugh had the largest personal collection of vintage marbles on the east coast. He used Ed's marble collection as photos in some of his marble books.
Awesome story, Ron has done some legendary digging! I couldn't imagine the feeling of getting permission to dig after asking for such a long time.
