@@MrBronx61 Definitely do NOT want that. I do think Jayden's football IQ and ability to properly read a defense is better than RGIII's. He's starting to slide now, instead of dive. Praying Jayden can keep balling and avoid big hits.

So Greg says that the Bengals defense is terrible... Does that mean that Pat Mahomes is overrated because he struggled against that same defense.

Mark isn't wrong. By running the ball more often, you increase your time of possession and more importantly, you limit the number of possessions for your opponent. Obviously, the defense needs to make a stop at some point. But it's not a bad idea to take some pressure off your defense by limiting the time they're on the field.
He’s wrong about that for this game. But over the course of the season he’s correct
Washington fan here - our defense couldn't stop their offense either. Normally I'd agree - run the ball and increase TOP - but last night Burrow was completing every pass anyway. Neither defense was stopping anyone, the only difference was our defense was less leaky in the red zone.

JD was seeing and trusting his reads a bit more, led to less of him scrambling. Left some plays on the field but was still very impressive. And he will get better.
Ya based on his rate of growth from game to game, even quarter to quarter, he will absolutely crush those plays that are left on the field.

notice how certain QBs can lose a bunch of games but never get called out but if Certain QBs “Dak, Lamar, and Hurts lose a few games it's time to drag them through the mud. Those guys don't miss the playoffs but Joey B, Trevor, and Herbert messed up the playoffs and still are considered great QBs I wonder why?

LAMAR 2x MVP, Dak is just a better player, and Hurts played in the Super Bowl. Why does he keep saying that the Bengals scored on every possession they didn't, they missed a field goal attempt. Washington didn't score on every possession either. They took a knee at the end of the 2nd half. This game came down to Washington forced Cinnci into 3 field goal attempts and they missed one but Cinnci only held Washington to one field goal attempt that they made. Cinnci also attempted a 2 point conversion that Washington stopped hence the 5 point win fore Washington. It was a game of some grate offence mixed with a lot of bad defense and Washington was just better getting it into the end zone this week then the Bengals were.

As a 13yr old playing Madden on customized settings that made the game ultra difficult, I would help my garbage defense by trying to possess the ball for as long as possible on offense. It's crazy that 20yrs later this isn't common knowledge
Mark is right, I’m a Washington fan and our defense is horrible. We have only focused 1 punt in 3 GAMES, but to Marks point we run the ball and we eat a lot of clock keeping the other team off the field. If your defense is bad u need to control time of possession and u do that by running the ball and keeping the other offense off the field. Great win Washington 🤌🏾.
Schlereth is absolutely correct about Zac Taylor and the unbalanced offense. Taylor thinks he is some kind of genius. I watched him for multiple seasons under utilize Joe Mixon and constantly chuck the ball around the field. Now Mixon is gone and their run game scares no one.

Even though Cincinnati never punted, the time of possession tells the story about the two offenses. The best teams control the clock. Mark was right, but his argument would have been stronger if he brought up the time of possession.
Jennings back up was Jordy and James Jones which is why they didn’t resign him. Jordy was better. Jones led the league in TDs. Greg Jennings had a huge Ego.

To not understand that the offense puts the defense in position to succeed by giving them a break is why I hate these shows. But granted, the Bengals are terrible and this isn't the offense's fault. But over time it is an issue if your defense is always on the field.
Mark is talking about the totality of the team these fools keep talking about ONE GAME! Week 1 bengals were bludgeoned, last week they battled W/ KC. Cincy is a SOFT football team, burrow has to score every possession or they have no chance…. You bring balance to your team to combat it, they ran well last night could’ve slowed the game down when knowing the defense was being slaughtered.
The Bengals are back to the basement where they have historically been. This is 1990s level failure.

The three phases of loserball is blaming the refs, weather and injuries. I just tune any of those three things out immediately. In rains on everybody. Figure it out! Plan for and around it. Be better next time so it won't lose you the game. Something. Just stop using it as an alibi for losing. If you're going to blame anyone on the Bengals for losing this unscheduled shootout, blame the coaches for not getting their backup defenders ready. They game was announced back in June and you knew you had injuries. What were you doing all week rather than getting your active team ready to play?
Jayden carved the Bengals defense up. What makes so little sense is how they play so well against Mahomes but can't do jack against a Rookie QB. Ig not alot of film? Lol.

@@markb3786 Mahomes is leaning on his arm rather than the fundamentals something he's talked about. And half the firepower on the Chiefs offense is either injured or rookies.
Either way the Chiefs have won 3 off the back of the defense. Burrows playing pretty great in 2 out of 3 games and lost 3 I'd be more worried about the Bengals defense than the Chiefs offense. Mahomes always has a stretch where Andy has to rein him in. What's the problem with the Bengals defense? And why are they only good against Mahomes?

They don't care about the Commanders. They whole goal this season is to beat KC. Every team gets up for KC, it's their Super Bowl.

As a Washington fan our biggest obstacle is gonna be winning games with this horrible defense
I don't think our defense is great, however, I do think that as the season goes on, they will get better. Hopefully our corners get it together fast, but as far as run stoppage goes, I think Chinn and Martin are going to pick it up a lot faster moving forward. I've been surprised with Luvu and Wagner getting off to a slower start, but it's their first three games playing together...
This is hopefully just the beginning of multiple years of being a legitimate team. As long as Daniels continues to grow I'm good. They aren't a contender this year but they could be in the near future.
They should have not let Ridgeway go....he is a load in the middle where the Bengals spent most of the game.

Mark preached. I’ve been saying this. We don’t run never have. We put way too much on Joe therefore he can’t stay healthy. He takes unnecessary hits because we pass too much. Backers stay in passing lanes because they have no respect well run it respectfully. We got away with it for so long because of talent. Now that teams know what we’re capable of we aren’t adjusting
Cincy defense terrible?? As a Redskins fan, I think any NFL fan will take their teams defense holding Mahomes to 150 yards and 2 ints in KC any day of the week like they did a week before. I think they'll be fine..

Burrow is not the issue in Cincinnati. They scored 33 points last night. The defense is a major problem though and will prevent them from getting a wildcard spot.
Burrow stats this year: 746 passing yards 5 TDs-0 INTs. He's had one bad game this year otherwise he's balled out. He can't be blamed for his defense giving up 38 to a Rookie.

Burrow is a system QB. When he got hurt, which is pretty often, the backup didn’t miss a beat last year….and the didn’t make the playoffs. Plus they are quick to talk about Lamar losing to Mahomes but Burrow got swept by the Ravens last year and is 1-4 against a healthy Lamar Jackson. Cincy only advances IF Lamar isn’t healthy.
