Def hard to compete
These guys are all amazing. Their skill is up there with the very best in the world, which is why we have come to this site to see this. Thank God for this technology, imagine all of the great artists over the course of time who have not had their work so accessible to the masses. Bravo to them all. I have hd the privilege of seeing them all in person over the past 4+ decades, as well as many other greats. Just magic.

You can't compare Al to Paco, or Paco to John etc. Al is the brilliant composer and band leader. He's an amazing guitarist and virtuoso in his own right. But Paco and John are highly specialized as players and soloists. No one can play like them. But they could never produce an a work like Elegant Gypsy or Casino. So it's a bit of a trade off. But Al did a wonderful thing putting this together.
+James C Paco is the most talented of them three
+Nature love well he's certainly the most specialized in Classical or Flamenco guitar. All 3 are wonderful at what they do so it's pointless to compare them. Together they are a tour de force
Yeah, I agree with you. especially "Young Paco" and "Old John". when they are all young. "Young" John are leader. “Young" Paco play improvisation. But when the all white hair, "Old" Paco not like "Young" Paco. "Old" John play more improvisation. but Al always stable.

Trough the years, Mc Laughlin showed to be the faster! Anyway i thank 'em (i don't think they will play again together) for all the marvellous music that gave to us.

Al Di Meola seems younger than 25 yrs ago. Seriously, i'm not agree Paco is the best! He have a technique different. Paco comes from flamenco. John and Al comes from jazz.
