I’ll always love hearing Core 2001. It just has a feeling of nothing but the urge to dive deeper into the rabbit hole, and few other tracks have matched it in that regard.
I'll be always blown away on how Capcom produced such high quality sounds on the GBA compared to most developers on the system, even Nintendo themselves. It's a perfect mixture on PSG and PCM.
I mean the GBA sound font was practically non-existent and I'm pretty sure some developers had to find at least some workarounds to actually produce bangers
After all these years, still the best Investigation Core theme. Even though the gameplay itself is probably the weakest out of all the AA games, the part from 0:30 to 0:45 is to me the most iconic melody in the series. If there's one melody that I'd use to represent the series, this would be it. On a general level, the first game has by far the best OST. Not the most fancy or anything but the melodies are simply amazing on nearly every song. And this isn't just "nostalgia", since I started with AA series late and played through them all one after another.
Idk why but when the thing kicks in at like 0:15 i just imagine like a giant heaven court and a strange instrument that resambles a sand clock that makes that sound

2001, followed by 2011, 2007, 2009, and 2013 the best core themes
For me it just makes me think "Aw fuck I gotta inspect every pixel again!?"
The only one so far that's been the same for me is 2013. 2002 is my favorite - gotta love the tone of that one.

Investigation Core 2001: Here's where I come in
So good, it mostly makes me think of "Don't forget DL-6" and finding Mia's body.
This reminds me of Phoenix reviewing the DL-6 in court.
It reminds me of Oldbag, i was stuck on day 2 investigation for a while, glad i got to finish the game, Rise From The Ashes was painful tho.
“the murderer came from the outside, yes.”
best core theme IMO
Pol74698 i like Apollo's and justice for all better
Pol74698 True although 2007 and 2016 come close this is still one of the best Core themes.
Do you have any links to those? Not sure exactly which tracks you're talking about
ERNotso are you talking about 2007 and 2016?
i agree
Fun fact: at a whopping 120 bpm this has a perfect tempo to give cpr to

Hearing this song play with that backdrop of Mia's body sent chills down my spine. Especially that opening. This ost gets atmosphere so right.
