I wanted to say on all of season two congrates on your 26th video release. That would be one high quality instructional video every two weeks over 12 months but wait, the first one was started about 9 months ago. Great job and all fresh and emphasis on a different topic each time. well done Keep em coming
Dave!!! I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THE CONGRATS AND COMPLEMENTS!!! It means more than you know to hear that and I truly appreciate it. Making these educational videos is my passion and it makes it all the more special when folks like yourself actually enjoy them as much as I do! I have some very exciting plans for 2019.... stay tuned dude! Much more coming!
Dave, you could certainly add weight to the jointed DR (and that could help it run deeper for casting) but for getting the lure to run deeper while trolling it would be easier to accomplish that by letting more line out. andrea-medo.squarespace.com/s/TrollingDepth-Inside.pdf
Thanks for the watch and the comment dude! It doesn't necessarily have to be super cold to catch muskies.... we catch them during the summer and warmer months as well. But during the late-fall period, you get a shot at muskies that are likely at the heaviest body weight they will be at all year long. So for that reason... we really push ourselves to fish in the super cold elements. The payoff can be HUGE :)
Awesome video... comments aren't showing up so I'm not sure if someone else has asked this...can you give a quick run down of line length for trolling at 10, 15, 20, 25 feet of water? And Is it the same for the straight DR?
Ben, thanks dude! I am really glad you enjoyed the video!! As a starter check out this trolling depth chart for the 8” DR’s. I have found that my running depths are about the same for both the jointed and straight model. The chart link below shows the running depths you will get on 80 lb Beast Braid at around 3.5 mph. Hope this helps and keep the questions coming! andrea-medo.squarespace.com/s/TrollingDepth-Inside.pdf
Amity, thanks dude!!! Much appreciated! Yes, I love throwing the jointed DR on the Legend Tournament Musky 86MHF St. Croix. I have also used that rod to troll too and it works great! Thanks for watching and please keep the questions coming!
Thanks for the video. I will definitely be buying one of these for the upcoming season. What is your favorite color for this lure and have you found that color matters since it runs so deep?
Sam, absolutely and really glad you enjoyed the video!! My favorite color in both the jointed and straight 8” DR is “sucker” and I’ve had success trolling and casting this color. I have caught muskies trolling all different color DR’s and yes, I think that when the lure is running that deep I am not sure color is much of a factor but - who knows! Sometimes I get in a good groove with a certain color on a given season and I just keep the momentum going!
Absolutely! Please check out this link to Musky360. It has the complete trolling chart that I use for 80 lb test Beast Braid and the amount of line I have out for trolling at 3 mph. You will have to tweak it a little yourself as you dial things in. Let me know if this helps! www.musky360.com/page-101/c/1 Chas
Never expect perfection from your musky partners. It's a long game. Mike and I have had far more success stories than not, and we learn from our mistakes. Always learn from your mistakes.

Dave thank you as always for the kind words and I’m really glad you enjoyed the segment! More coming soon!
Can you effectively add weight to the 8" jointed Depth Raider Lead tape to get it deeper when trolling or will that mess up the action?@@MuskyMastery

and maybe going to lighter line, does monster braid make a 6# 😃😃@@MuskyMastery
These are monster fish but looks like it needs to be very cold to catch. No musky where I’m at! Time to go fishing!

Dude! Awesome video! You use a long ranger to fish those?

I have tons of questions, but not all pertain to this video haha

Can you maybe clarify some trolling data? ie How much line you have to let out to achieve a certain depth? Thanks
