Dear Steven, it has been a few years since your precious momma posted this video. My family so enjoys this cake and I always find pleasure in making it. 😋 yummy! When she said "alright im gonna take a bite now", my mouth started to open a little bit. Hahaha im so glad i still get to enjoy watching her. Thank you so much for sharing your mom with us.
I enjoy watching Ms Phyllis bake & cook. So much of her baking is similar to what my mom taught me & my sisters to do. The metal pans & spoons, metal pots, so much of what I use is not for sale anymore. I use antique pots & pans without realizing how old they are but they are still good.

That summer she taught her neighbor how to bake a real cake. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Steven; I watch these videos for recipes knowing she has passed and it still affects me. I miss her voice, her stories and I guess what I am really trying to say, is I really miss her, yet her spirit lives on, which is a comfort to all of her fans. Resting In Peace Miss Phyllis and her Mr Bucky.

Hi Ange, If you use a 9" pan I think you would need to cook it a little longer.
Thanks for watching, Phyllis

I came across your channel by accident .. well now I love to think by faith . I had been in a rut for a while and let me tell you , the demeanor you have and just the passion in your voice sold me on trying these recipes.

I just found this site a few days ago, I was sad to hear about her passing, but I am grateful that the site has not been taken down, I have learned so much just watching the few I have watched I hope it isn't taken down. God Bless.
Aww I was so happy Mrs, Phyllis popped up on my feed. I've missed watching her. Such a wonderful couple. May they RIP
Always a Delightful surprise when our sweet Phyllis "pops up"...can't wait to make her recipes! Thanks Steve Ritter!
Love love all the "hints" she teaches us...wet cloth to stop cooking...TBSP of Karo,....all the "extras" we can glean from this sweet soul :-)
I just gotta have something sweet! You’re a doll, Ms. Phyllis!
Ms. Phyllis. It turned out fabulous. Everyone enjoyed it at home.
You are such a good teacher. Thank you for helping us!
Love, love, love your simple old fashion recipes. Those cakes are the best tasting. I much rather make me a cake with your recipe than buy a box cake mix. Thank you Phyllis. Love you.
Thank you for sharing! My Grandmother made cakes like this and she lived during the depression!
Missing you…and so glad we have these videos. On days I’m feeling down, I come back here and it makes me somehow a bit better
I baked the cake at 1:30 am in the morning had been wanting something sweet all day and I finally couldn't take it anymore so I made your cake. It was easy to make and turned out delicious. Thanks

I love you Phyllis. Your content is so entertaining and your recipes are so fun to try out. Keep making videos, you're an original.
My grandma made that. She called it poke cake because she poked holes in the top to let the icing soak in.

My grandmother did also, and I have been searching for this recipe for ages. Thanks to dear Mrs. Phyllis I have it now.

Good ol' homemade delights! 😋 You GO, Miss Phyllis!
What a wonderful and simple recipe and I love the relaxed and gentle way you do things.
Thank you for sharing that with us!
I made this tonight, and it was delicious. I think it's the buttermilk that gives it that certain "something".
I've made this cake so many times. It's so so good. I wish I never made it because I eat almost the whole cake by myself it's so delicious! My whole family loves it! Thanks for sharing miss phillis
Oh I hope you don’t mind I mentioned you in a post along with my picture of this cake I made you will be all over Kentucky and Ohio and Texas
Phyllis Stokes on you tube had this recipe for “ When you just gotta have something Sweet!” Boy she nailed it, This is so good
Making this for my husband’s birthday gonna be a few
Day’s late because he is diabetic and he had all his favorite foods for his birthday, so we will celebrate New Year’s tomorrow and his birthday .
Sure miss seeing you online but so grateful your son is still sharing you with the World!
You and Bucky do a sweet dance together all over heaven for me tonight at midnight 🕛
😋 yummy! When she said "alright im gonna take a bite now", my mouth started to open a little bit. Hahaha im so glad i still get to enjoy watching her. Thank you so much for sharing your mom with us.
All the time! You're so gentle with your flour and buttermilk. Your voice is soothing. Thank you for this very doable recipe. ⭐️⭐️
I enjoy watching Ms Phyllis bake & cook. So much of her baking is similar to what my mom taught me & my sisters to do. The metal pans & spoons, metal pots, so much of what I use is not for sale anymore. I use antique pots & pans without realizing how old they are but they are still good.
Everything I copy of hers comes out very good! She really knew how to cook. RIP Phyllis & Mr. Bucky.❤🌹
