Great choice! The ES is essentially an LS, having most of its features for a fraction of the price. I love the Moonbeam Beige color on the ES, one of few cars that beige looks good on. Congratulations on your new car!
Had the ES 300h MY2024 for over one year now. Same exterior but the Interieur is a special color combination you can't get in the US (made a little video on my channel). Its the last old school "luxury first" car in this middle segment. No silly touch buttons, endless screens or creaking piano plastic everywhere , or unnecessary sportiness. On top comes the the reliability and drive comfort of the hybrid. For normal slightly faster Autobahn driving with 90 to 100mph (some will overtake you at this speed but most of the time you will be on the left lane overtaking) it is also suited with no real compromise. Even fuel economy is surprisingly good if you look ahead a bit and not brake to much at those speeds.
Congratulations! Looking forward to following your experience with this car as I have with your others. Happy to hear the first hand experience you had comparing it to your LS, it seems like the general consensus is that Lexus has really upped the value of the ES line and it's no longer such a big gap between it and the LS. Congrats again!
Oh yeah, I love the spec too. Exterior and interior colors are exactly what I would have picked. Definitely agree on the interior, it is really gorgeous!
Thanks! Yes I’m fact I tell people that buying an ES compared to an LS is getting 80% of the car for 50% of the price. The gap isn’t as big as you’d think. My top spec car has many of the same features as the LS (noise cancellation, double pane glass, etc)
@@InternetDude That really is a great value. Do you know if the double pane glass comes on the luxury trim or do you need to step all the way up. I can easily do without extra tech features and such, but I'm really after supreme comfort and isolation at highway speeds. Of course getting that at the best value is nice too so I'm looking at used models back to the 2019 refresh. Not many ultra luxury's but quite a few luxury trims to choose from. I've enjoyed following your journey because I've tried Tesla too (only as a rental) for the electric experience but the road noise actually gave me a headache after a few hours, was really bummed about that. Ride comfort was also supremely compromised for sportiness. I've also been very intrigued by the rav4 prime but they are so hard to come by and I do a lot of highway driving so I think noise and suspension wouldn't be as good as I could get for similar money on a different kind of vehicle. I'm with you though, the es300h would be ideal in a plug in form. Hopefully that's coming.
@@InternetDude As far as future videos, I always like seeing the upgrades you've chosen and enjoy the mileage updates the most for reliability sake, to see how things are holding up. Squeaks and rattles etc. Thanks again!
My stepson is a finance manager for the Lexus dealership here in Winnipeg. Every hybrid they get is sold. The RX is their best seller. Looking forward to you ES updates.
I just recently got a 2025 Lexus ES 350 Ultra Luxury. I mainly got it for the overall quite, comfortable, and luxurious ride. I would say that it is better than most cars. However, I can't help but have this nagging feeling, that the LS500 would have been even more quiet and isolated from the road noise. But I didn't want to spend almost double the cost for a little extra noise isolation. Honestly, when driving this, I tend to avoid large, noisy, loudly revving cars and trucks on the highway, because I find that it disturbs the peace and quite that I am used to with this car. However, I can't help but sometimes feel, that with the LS500, I wouldn't have to worry as much about loudly revving engines because that car is supposed to by much quieter than the ES. Anyway, what are your thoughts on this?? Do you think the extra quietness of the LS500 is worth the price premium?? Since you traded it in for the ES, then I will assume not as much. But I do honestly, want to know, am I missing out on a whole lot of quietness and road isolation with the ES compared to the LS?? I personally did not think it was enough to justify the huge price difference. But I keep telling myself that this ES is probably the quietest, more comfortable car for the price. Cars that are more quieter and more comfortable are going to be a lot more expensive, and they will also come from brands that are not known for their reliability. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the overall quietness and comfort of the ES vs LS?? Am i missing something much more significant in that regard with the ES compared to the LS??
If you have the Ultra Lux ES then you are not missing much, you already have some active noise cancellation in the ES. The difference in noise isolation is almost nothing compared to the LS500. If money means absolutely nothing to you then the LS would suit you better. If, like me, you don't have millions of dollars in the bank then the ES is the better overall buy. I consider the ES to be 80% of the car of the LS but at 50% of the price. The LS takes premium gas where the ES doesn't. The LS is much longer and harder to park. The LS is heavier and the interior room isn't much different. After 47000 km and 2.5 years the ES300h is still the best overall car I've owned in 30+ years of driving. There is very little actual difference between the ES Ultra Lux and the LS but if you still have doubts, go test drive an LS500 (even a used one) and see for yourself. For me, I'm happier with the ESh.
Love my 2022 ES300h UL as well. Bought Nov 15, 2021. I have had the car 1 week shy of 1 year now and its phenomenal. Having it through all 4 seasons here in Pennsylvania mileage is at 44-45mpg. Exactly as stated!! I agree with the Prime powertrain in this car. Maybe the redesign will have it. I hope the redesign doesn't take away what makes this generation of the ES so great. Truly amazing! Had a 2022 RX450h today as a loan while mine was in for the 12-month service. It wasn't bad, but used to the ES300h mileage.
Right on 👍 Yes hopefully the next ES has a Prime option and doesn’t look like the Toyota Crown 😉 - I had the LS500 and honestly Lexus ruined the LS from what it used to be. Let’s hope they learned from that mistake for the 2025 ES
I have exactly the same color combo and also UL. Mine is 2024 so no more scratch pad. Do you have the video of your ambient lightning install? Yhe car has a few strips of ambient lightning but no color changes and its a bit to dim 4 my taste. My fe dropped from low 5s to low 6s in the cold ontario winter
Stumbling across your videos just now has given me a little more confidence to do pretty much the same thing. I have a 2020 Model S that, this year alone, has spent 12 weeks in the shop here in the UK. I'm drawn to Toyota and to Lexus for their reliability but am still wondering if it's the right thing to do, given one of the things I enjoy about Tesla ownership - perhaps the only thing I enjoy at this point in time - is the throttle response of an EV. Am concerned that in going from a missile to a barge I'm going to grow bored, and am putting a lot of hope in the laid back style of the Lexus enthusing me in other ways. Welcome your experience there.
We used to have two Model S's in the garage, but due to needing too many repairs we got rid of both of them. We now have a Lexus ES hybrid and a RAV4 Prime (plugin hybrid). The Toyota Lexus reliability is legendary. My Lexus has 34,000 km and has needed absolutely zero repairs, I love it. It's efficient, quiet, smooth, full of features. I would say I do miss the off-the-line acceleration of the Tesla and the good app/software but otherwise I don't miss the endless repairs and hassle of dealing with Tesla. I would definitely recommend you go out and test drive the Lexus you like and just realize that slow acceleration (comparatively) just means you won't need your car in the shop on a regular basis LOL. It's also nice now to be able to phone the dealer about an oil change and they answer the phone and get you in right away. Lexus/Toyota service is better than Tesla.
Outside color and interior are perfect. Mine is black with the same interior as yours, the dealership here had 10 black ones on sale with 10% off , otherwise i would have taken your exterior color.
It's all good. I have > 40,000 km on it now, no regrets. I think 2025 will be the last year for this car, it has basically been perfected. I would not hesitate to recommend this car to someone interested in it. I added custom ambient lighting inside see www.clublexus.com/forums/es-7th-gen-2019-present/988355-custom-ambient-light-swap-project-4.html
I think you did amazing with that ambient lighting! Brings the interior appeal up that much more. It looks as nice as the German brands now without the worry of reliability, generally speaking.
Thanks, you nailed it! I love the ambient lighting from the German cars but not the reliability. Now I have the best of both worlds! My Es is super dependable, good looking, efficient, smooth ride, etc. but with extra LED lighting inside that I can customize.
@@InternetDude excellent. I have lower level 2022 Avalon XSE which doesn’t have the cornering lights that Avalon Limited has so I have visibility problems on turns at night. The fact that they added it to Avalon Limited and all Lexus ES proves that Toyota knows it’s a flaw in the body shape visibility design IMO but kept on the pricier trims. It’s one of those things that truly annoy me about my car now. I’m considering moving to ES because of it and wanted to confirm if it had corning lights so thanks again for the info!

What does happen, when you use the panoramic view function with the mirrors folded? Do the cameras on the mirrors deliver any picture? What do the shift paddles actually do (especially in normal mode)? Is there a real world application for this? Perhaps "shifting down" when anticipating an overtake maneuver?
I would have to double check but I think the cameras keep displaying the image even though it's not pointing down anymore. I haven't used the shift paddles at all now that you mention it LOL. I think they simulate gear shifts for the e-CVT or even increase regenerative braking? Hmm I'll have to try them out, I just never think of them, they seem pointless so far. My transmission is single speed so yeah...
The Tesla cabin noise was by far the worst due to the roof glass, no noise cancelation, etc. The ES that I have is about as quiet as the LS500, they both have active noise cancellation. If the sunroof shade is closed it is the quietest.
Hi, congratulations on that. What about it being FWD while LS is RWD, isn't that a big downside for you? And also LS is still reliable right, if you are going to insure cars anyways why would you need extra warranty years? Just interesting.
I have studded winter tires on my ES, I've never had traction issues. My LS500 was AWD but it had all season tires, it actually had worse traction in winter because of that. In summer conditions FWD vs RWD is meaningless to me. I just prefer to have a newer car for road tripping as they are more reliable.
It wasn't too bad but I have done wiring before. Taking the door panels off is easy, but then there are a lot of screws to take off to disassemble just enough to fit these LEDs in. I have a thread on the Lexus forum showing what I did here www.clublexus.com/forums/es-7th-gen-2019-present/988355-custom-ambient-light-swap-project.html
Loved your series on your LS experience. Other than the massage feature, do you miss the ride, or is it comparable? I just drove a 2018 LS 500 today and wasn’t wowed like I thought I’d be. I’m coming from a 2012 Avalon. There is a regular non-hybrid es 350 ultra luxury I can look at and since you made the jump from an LS to an ES, I was wondering what you missed most except for the massage. Do you find the ES is more nimble? Thanks.
The ride quality going down the road is very close, I don't miss the ride quality. Air versus steel suspension the difference shows up on the different road surfaces (e.g. pot holes). If I had to do it again I would maybe consider the LS500 hybrid (used) as the depreciation on the LS500 is atrocious. If buying new, the ES is the better all-around car. I have found the ES more reliable, I have ~37,000 km and it's been 100% flawless, not a single issue. The ES is on the same platform as the Avalon underneath.
@@InternetDude hey, it looks like new LS 500 for 2024 has all issues fixed, like touch screen, new safety tech and etc. Im thinking on what to get, ES350 UL or LS500, and it's so hard to decided. Also I think new LS 500 even drives different then 2021 - 22 model year. what do you think?
I have not driven the 2021-newer LS500 but I have heard that the LS is slightly better now in terms of drivability (ECU programming)@@victorr.4607 I have an ES300h Ultra Lux now, however test drive both if you can and decide. They are quite a price difference, also.
Hello, I am an owner of a 2021 ES250 AWD, from Edmonton AB, also in the same moonbeam colour. But I have the older interior colour(flaxen) I think overall the ES is such excellent value for the money. Mine was under 50kcad before taxes and everything, It’s a premium package (top package for 250) which has 99% of what I need, if there something I would want more would probably be the mark levinson. It rides smooth, quite and comfortable, good AWD system, and get excellent highway fuel economy (5-6L) and decent around town (9L) however I wish for a little bit more power from the engine on the top end but that’s it. I really like the ambient light that you installed, if you don’t mind me asking where did you get those from? Thanks.
Hi I got the lights from Aliexpress. I have details, link to buy, and photos all on the Lexus forum at www.clublexus.com/forums/es-7th-gen-2019-present/988355-custom-ambient-light-swap-project.html
Not as much as you'd expect! General driving basically no difference, bumpy roads you notice a little difference. Not worth the extra to go for the LS ride for a daily driver IMHO.
@@cyberspiral yes plus features. AWD, massage seat, rear seat, more engine covers, etc. Quality itself is no different. The LS is noticeably bigger so more steel also.
Is the car made in Japan (vin number should start with ''J'')? How's the difference in the ride quality vs the LS (was the LS ''carpet'' like)? How's the difference in the ''real life'' fuel consumption vs the LS? 2019 ES300h UL owner here with almost 100 000km from Montreal. I daily drive my ES to work and it's been pretty much perfect (only a mini rattle around the passenger side glove compartment at low speed ; got used to it). It sometimes crosses my mind to upgrade to the full size sedan like the LS or the S-Class just to have that ''ultimate'' feeling. But the thing that stops me is the terrible MPG and that it won't much of a difference in term of the ride quality and overall experience since the ES is smooth as butter and have a great presence on the road (I love big luxury sedans). As you mentioned, I like to own the car from the get-go since I am a car guy who loves to take good care of my car
I tracked every fillup in my LS500 and ES. My LS averaged 21.5 MPG (US) over 9,000+ miles. My ES so far has averaged 44.2 MPG. There is no comparison at all, I’m really enjoying the much higher fuel economy and don’t want to go back.
My car was made in the USA, Kentucky I think. The LS / ES UltraLux ride difference is negligible, I kid you not. The LS is a little smoother on the highway but it’s also a little floaty and harsh in some situations.
I didn’t test drive a Mercedes but I’m my opinion if your choice is ESh Ultra vs LS500 stick with what you have, you’re not missing much. I tell people the ES is 80% of what the LS is for 50% of the price.
I wish they would work on evolving the overall cohesiveness of their interiors. Nice overall but I can't stand the look of the HVAC system and buttons below the main middle screen. To me that whole area just doesn't fit the look of the rest of the interior. Genesis & many other OEM's are producing a more modern interior design in my opinion.
The location of the volume / tuning knob is just about perfect, I wouldn't change that. The HVAC buttons themselves I don't mind, as I do sometimes change the fan speed to low or turn it on/off. I would say the interior has a sort of "dated/older" look to it, even though the car was fully refreshed in 2019. Lexus and Toyota both tend to be behind the curve when it comes to tech, features and what-not. With that said, I think when the ES gets redesigned it may take more of an NX or RX interior look with the bigger screen, less buttons, etc.
Hello on the ambient light did you have issue if you bring your car to the dealership since you still have factory warranty. Please let me know I’m dying to do this..!!!
Thanks I’m gonna order this with the wood replacement I have the factory ambient light would it be easier to install .. is this control only on the app or on the steering wheel.. I wish you could make a video of the night shot .! I have the same color ext ultra luxury bit I have the light cream interior . Was going to get the ls500 but got this just for the amazing MPG.
Tnx, this is what I would like to do as well. What´s your opinion on sound insulation? Is the LS much more silent, or is still not that much of a leap? Cheers from Sweden!
Hi @almoines1. Surprisingly the cabin noise is about the same between the ES Ultra Luxury and the LS500. Both have a form of active noise cancellation inside. The LS may be a bit better but it would be negligible. The only wind noise I hear normally on the highway is from the sunroof but I keep the cover closed on the highway so it's quiet anyway. Same for the LS.
@@dylanc9275 we didn’t use to really need them but I’ve found the last 5 years or so our roads seem to be icy often in the winter so I’m sold on studs now

Love this car. How does the road/cabin noise compare to the LS500 and the Tesla?
Can you do a LED light video at night like you did with the LS?
Great suggestion!
Hows the head and legroom compared to the LS?
It feels almost the same, I'm not sure what the numbers are on paper.
Was that ambient lighting a pain to install? Looks so much better than the dull white that it comes with.
@@InternetDude thanks for the info
Is there a big difference in terms of ride quality and road noise between this and the LS.
Not as much as you'd expect! General driving basically no difference, bumpy roads you notice a little difference. Not worth the extra to go for the LS ride for a daily driver IMHO.
@@InternetDude good to know, is the pricing difference mainly because of the materials then
@@cyberspiral yes plus features.
Check here regarding your rattle www.clublexus.com/forums/es-7th-gen-2019-present-301/
Also can you turn off the ambient lights ...!?????
This modification should not affect the warranty unless it damages something else, which is nearly impossible.
I can change the color and turn it off
Thanks I’m gonna order this with the wood replacement I have the factory ambient light would it be easier to install .. is this control only on the app or on the steering wheel..
Any rattles?
Nope
How's the mpg
44 MPG average over 6,000 miles
Nice video, but I advise you to choose more researchable video titles for future
I may change the title after a few days, I’m not sure what is best.
I think I would trade my LS for an ES if it were a daily driver. Solid choice.
Thanks
Nice car 👌
Thanks
Haha I bet your using those winter tires this week
Went out for a drive today it’s pure ice roads everywhere in town, I’m glad I have studded tires! They’re a little noisy but not bad.
@@InternetDude same put studs on the truck as well
We are going to Calgary tomorrow in the RAV, it also has studded tires 🤞
@@dylanc9275 we didn’t use to really need them but I’ve found the last 5 years or so our roads seem to be icy often in the winter so I’m sold on studs now
She's fancay
Thanks friend! I saw your post about the diesel heater. You gotta put that up on TH-cam or somewhere to get people’s attention LOL
@@InternetDude love it got full range today in -10 weather
Genius idea
