- Who’s ready for a big budget burrito battle? Pro chef Saul Montiel from Cantina Rooftop and home cook Bianca are swapping their recipe ingredients and hoping for the best! We set Bianca up with all of the supplies she’d need to create Chef Saul’s decadent Mar y Tierra Burrito, while sending her modest chicken burrito ingredients back the other direction. While Saul was using his skills and experience to elevate Bianca’s recipe, food scientist Rose dialed in to assist Bianca along her way. How did everything wrap up? Tune in and find out.

I mean sure expensive ingredients aren't needed, but a lot of what made his so expensive is the variety of ingredients, and then the meats. Realistically that is not a $113 burrito, it's just that much to stock your kitchen to make it. The burrito itself probably costs around $15, maybe a little more for the ribeye.
Yea that was probably enough ingredients to make 5 or 6 burritos but if it were a restaurant they might charge you more.

Bianca did amazing. Given so many ingredients that she has never used before, yet rolled up her sleeves and went for it. She seems like infectious happy, and just have fun with it. It’s great to see home chefs cooking as it’s relatable and I like to see what they use, how it’s used and think maybe I can cook too. Both chefs were great but Bianca well done!
As a Mexican with a Mexican mom who uses an avocado every day for lunch I can say that avocado looked P E R F E C T

Have watched a few of these with my wife now and this is the first I've seen with Chef Saul. He needs to be in every video, absolutely loved him and I would happily eat anything he ever cooked.

This show needs to change two things, one have them make the meal they planned on making as well as the other person's meal and two meet up together and eat all four meals together.
Start with Bianca and Saul both making Bianca's meal then both making Saul's then meeting up and discussing all four. This way we get to see the contrast and get to see them really experience each other's recipes.

My uncle makes nopales and pork sometimes and omfg it’s so good. I never had Cactus before visiting my aunt and uncle and he got his recipe from his family in Mexico. Definitely became one of my favorite simple dishes.

i’ve binged a ton of these and i always see comments about “chef X actually sticks to the rules and is nice to the amateur!” but i haven’t seen a single video where the chef would add something extra or be mean to the amateur lol

back during early covid when professional chefs were in their own homes a few of them would go “i’m adding some of this sauce i always keep on hand it’s a staple” but then if you look it up it’s actually something complex and homemade that’s only found in a specific region of the world. since moving back to the studio i haven’t seen any chefs add extra things, but i think people are still referring to the older videos.
