The flower of life The seed of life The tree of life All stained glass symbols in the circle represent the rose.. or the flower/seed of life.
The massive scale of cathedrals and basilicas that are centuries old is a testament to the commitment that was made to religious buildings in Europe. Most buildings in American cities (commercial ones particularly) show little regard to longevity. Such is the nature of capitalism, with the credo of big profits from minimal initial investments of money.
