♻️Happy gardening to all my viewers and subscribers.
My late Father used to breakdown the old wooden ships down the docks as some of it was the North American Red pine and Columbian hardwood that you can't buy today but he build sheds and fencing that still stands today with some of the old brass screwa and brackets that is far better quality than the Chinese crap were forced to buy in all the main outlets so doing the skip diving is well worth it Terry.
@ibrstellar1080 any free wood is good wood, but you don't get good wood very often. Nice comment.
@@terrykingsallotmentgardening He's an useful tool forvyou Terry www.toolstation.com/leaf-grabber/p82506
@ibrstellar1080 good price mate, have a new pair somewhere in a safe place. .........😂.
Quality content as usual, jealous off the wood find. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@jmawdsley2 some good bits of timber there so it will make it easy for me to extend the roof space.
👍❣ You are certainly resourceful and will never starve.
@@Brenda-xc7sq keeping the costs down makes it an interesting hobby with great returns.
Amazing wood find!! Well spotted!!
@@helenkeough4187 I have more ply sheets for the front and side of the shed Helen, got those before he put them in the skip.
Well done Terry.
I think that you are the king of recyclers!
I just love doing that on my allotment too.
@@michaelmcclafferty3346 what a lovely hobby we have Michael with minimal cost and a great return.
Hi Terry you would make Stig of the dump proud😂👌👍😁❤️
@@nickthegardener.1120 why thank you Nick, got some more ply sheets for the shed.....😁.
Lovely haul of very useful pieces of wood ... and some fixings 👍 🙂
@DavidC.uTube_in_UK hopefully there will be enough room to put the surplus behind the small tank.
I've only found utter rubbish in skips, lol. Nothing that I could repurpose, sadly.I have bought some great items at car boot sales though- mainly old 'brown' furniture that I have renovated and shabby chic painted. I get them for a song- no body wants itd until I have done them up, and then \i manage to sell them at a good profit. I love the creativity of it, so I have fun too. Planted out my onions yesterday and rest of my ornamental alliums today. Just the broad beans to go now, when i have space free. So many overwintering brassicas. trouble is if I grow them I find it so hard to discard them, ha ha, so my beds are full to the brim. I give away excess harvests to friends, family, neighbours and the local food bank. Happy growing Terry and love o Sandra 🙂
@bewoodford2807 lovely comment my friend, isn't it great when we get something and reuse it.
Wow! That's a great haul of wood. I think you'd pay more here.
Leaves, Leaves, Leaves 🍂🍁🍂
Everything looks great, as usual.
Your energy amazes me.
Take care of yourselves ❤
🙏❤🙏Sandra
@@peggyhelblingsgardenwhatyo7920 I think that I underestimated the cost of the wood Peggy.
Waste not want not! I’m with you on that one Terry 😊🙏👍
@thevegplotman7957 gosh what a good find mate, will be very useful on my plots.
Absolutely fantastic haul of wood 🪵. Yes I too save every screw and bracket one just never knows 👍. Need to paint the hammer 🔨 red so it stands out. Have a super day, hope Sandra is well ❤ and things go fab tomorrow 🙏🤞, Ali 🥶🌞🇨🇦
@@myrustygarden good surggestion on the hammer Ali.
Great update I love a bit of skip Dippin me happy gardening Richardx
@@RichardTaylorgardening you can always tell if it's a good skip, most of my regular stops leave it outside the skip just in case it's something that I want.
You are so resourceful that it amazes me! ❤ to Mrs K😊
@izzywizzy2361 our time doesn't cost anything. The more money I save, Mrs K spends.......🤨🤣
@@terrykingsallotmentgardening that is the natural way of things🤣🤣🤣
I find quite a bit at the curbs on garbage days. For the garden I mostly score pots. I guess some folk just get tired of them or don't want to store over the winter.
@@RobinGardens I personally don't understand why people throw pots away, but still buy some in spring.
My whole area I live in now is basically a rubbish dump, everyone dumps all their broken stuff in the street every day mixed with rice and rubbish 😕. I might do a walk around and post it to show how bad it is.😮👍❤️👌
@@nickthegardener.1120 Oh my, that is too bad. It's not good when folks don't take a little pride in their surroundings. You'd be fined $$$ here if you did that.
@RobinGardens I much preferred the village to the town centre, I will get out again at some point in the future.👍👌😁🙏
Oooh that timber is in really good condition! Too good for a skip. I guess someone is having building work done. We kept all our old timber - the ones that were riddled with woodworm have been designated for the fire, the rest has gone towards other things like ducky runs or the new compost bin sections. Well saved Great Uncle Bulgaria King.
@@kerryl4031 they have taken a lean-to down to build an extension Kerry so it was full of different types of wood, ideal for me and not too far away.
Got to grab it while its there. Never know when it will come in handy. Lumber prices are ridiculous. Terry 👍. Mrs K ❤
@allotmentjoy the skip has gone now so it's a good job that I saw it when I did, one job leads to another.
Nice one Terry job well done 👍👍👍
@@michaelsplot cheers Michael and for your time in commenting.
Strong wood. That's really worth a lot of money 👍
@@gardentours yes you don't get it like that anymore.
♻♻♻♻♻♻ nice one Terry ♻♻♻♻♻♻
@leewozzashomeveggiegarden thank you Sir.
Good job with the wood Terry
@BeFree-BeFrugal thank you, got that just in time for my next project.
Nice one Terry.
@FreeYourMindArt thank you my friend.
Looks like another successful skip Hunting Terry 😁.
@@ibrstellar1080 and I managed to get some more of the sheets to put on the front of the shed.
👍👍👍👍👍.................brian
@@briansgardenandpolytunnel8172 👍❤️❤️😁❤️❤️👍
Hiya mate ,you're so right any freewood is good wood ,ive got a good selection of wood down the allotment sheds ,you just never know when you will need it ,and any bits that are no good will burn on the fire ,hope all is ok mate ❤
@@nidge2822 all good mate, Sandra's last chemo yesterday, cancer marker now 19 compared with the critical 3800 in the summer, we are so pleased that no one gave up on her at the hospitals even though she wasn't expected to come out of hospital. Extending the roof space by the Holly hedge will be an excellent area to store the wood that I have.
That's brilliant news mate so down to 19 and roses is 12 so both are women are doing OK 👍, regular blood test though i expect just to keep an eye on the markers ,in roeses case its 35 or below, for the extension mate brilliant idea for storing your timber. 😊
@nidge2822 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You have a great skill there fella!
@RawLondonGardener good tools help us look good, having a good set of eyes and being brave to ask can save us lots of money.
A man after me own heart everything on my allotment is used 3 or 4 times.
@BobJohnson-x7i that's why I use decking screw, they last for ages and easy to use again.
Did you happen to find a partridge in that pear tree, Terry? Our dumpster diving success includes pallets, bags of spent coffee grounds and many dozens of plant containers. All put to good use!
~ Sandra
@NanasWorms no just lots of spring bulbs which I replanted in my new bulb bed. Got myself two more small cupboards to help store my other items......🤣.
Mmm🤔 I didn't get an alert for this one. It just popped up on my home page 😊
It's mad at what some people throw away, they must be made of money 😮
I'm so glad you have the" no overnight parking" sign's up to keep the rats at bay...😂🤣😂🤣
Take care my friend...🐮🐮🐮
@@mandamoosgardeningadventur8305 you know me I just pop up anywhere Manda Moo. If a builder put a price on the job, it's the customer that pays so hopefully it's me that benefits.
You might be able to grob onto that broken screw with a locking pliers and turn it out. I guess it depends on how much of it is standing proud of the timber.
@ronyerke9250 as long as I don't damage my tools on it, the screw can stay or be cut out, my grips wouldn't quite reach it without damaging the wood.
@terrykingsallotmentgardening If you can gouge the wood enough to grip that screw, after it is out, a drill and a dowel can repair it if needed. I just hate leaving metal in salvage wood in case I forget what was left in it. But it's your decision. I'm just offering options to consider.
@ronyerke9250 it's a good piece of timber so any suggestions to help are really appreciated mate.
Love watching you recycle ♻️ all that wood Terry!!!
Just started pruning our raspberries and pulling some strays out 😂 I would transplant them but I have more than enough😂
So would wood ash be good for gooseberries?? It would be from the site bonfire and I’m a little worried about what they actually burn, like stained fence panels etc
Have a great day. Big hugs to you and need K ❤
@TheRightPearPlot I only use the ashes from my log burner because I know what when in. Yes treated timber is dangerous when burned, not sure if it would be safe to use on the plot, but it's everyone's own personal opinion that counts.
@ i will leave that alone then just to be safe. Thanks Terry x
@@TheRightPearPlot 👍❤️😁❤️👍
Terry have I missed the flutter draw for the colour pens?
@reddishrascals6109 it has been filmed, and will be up Friday.
That's a great timber find. Can I ask how you've managed to control your raspberries to stop them spreading?
@@daina7665 just keep pulling them up when they are 300mm high, may seem daunting, but they will continue to try and spread what ever we do.
