It looks like a heavily modified bass - not sure what original model though. A banjo tuner from the 5th fret on the 4th string, 1st through 3rd strings are doubled up, hence the six tuners on the headstock. Looking at the frets crossing the inlays I assume quarter note frets were added later as well. What an insane instrument xD
Not really, they're aiming to marry the lineages of doom/drone metal with dub through the work with Lee Scratch Perry's vocals and general ethos, it's a really interesting and fruitful experiment
Dude, this is very cool and crazy ... the low banjo tuner tuned down to a low g with the viola bow (is your bridge even rockered?) and cut off heads of oranges suck the juice is good, but I like limes a little more ... and bass guy, where suit? where joxko oznoz.zxno? perfect, and love it so much and thanks KEXP for sharing, and even the title "don't pet burning dogs" is great! LOve, and hop and hope you make it up the hill ...
I'm so hype that I get to see them perform the work they did around Lee Scratch Perry's ideologies and output live. It's so good!
Love it. ✌🇦🇺
This is really awesome
Jaw Dropping ❤@kexp❤
what on earth is that hybrid bass thing?!? With the sympathetic strings and such?
its not for everybody for sure, but damn thats some fine experimental doom stuff
Sick 🤘
I approve of this message.
Wow, holy crap.......... I've listened to their other recordings, nothing comes close to this!
Drummer going OFF! Great jam
That guitar is sick.

Heavy metal
What model is that black guitar specifically?? Looks like some kind of baritone with a brass plate above the 12th for fretless playing?
definately something custom made for him. it has also a sitar-like section at the top of the pickups.

Body looks a bit like a Morch, but the whole thing is wild

Lee Scratch Perry😃
Suena malandro.
who is the guy in the picture on the table?
Lee "Scratch" Perry, dub pioneer whose voice and general ethos they used for the creation of the EP this is from
@@medulasa1 thanks!
This song is a hybrid of Zeppelin and Sabbath.
Nah, just makes me want to put on SLIFT
Aimless.
Agreed. Terrible stuff.

Man, if this sounded more roomy it would be great. The drums especially sound over processed…
Yeah when the song dropped i thought there was something wrong with my headphones lol. That snare is way too tight too.
Noise, not in a good way 🥴
Thanks for your self introduction.
