Did you use a barrel or did you tie the two lines together to create your shock leader? 50 lb braid and 80 mono is pretty good for a medium or medium/heavy rod imo but I'm running 80 braid 100 mono on my heavy rods and my bait casters/medium is typically 50/80 I only use fluro on bass and I'll always use my bait casters
