Yes sir. Thank you Martin. I have been following your videos lately and have learned a ton of things from them. I appreciate sharing your insights with us. That is really special.
They did the same kind of thing in Seattle...at one time they lowered the higher hills by spraying water from the sound on them to break them down and they also have an "underground" in parts of the downtown. It's kind of fun to find signs of history in towns. Love the walks you take us on.
LOL! very good David. I love Southern Talk- "...just to this side of that sign? On the other side of that sign?.." tone of voice- sentences that sound like a question are not a question. ❤
@@davidsaylors Good because it wasn't in a mean way at all. Sometimes if I'm really sad, I call my sons nurse aide at his gut Dr, (or Miss Lillian) and that lady- she could make the devil smile.. just that sweet, lovely Southern way about her. When we lived in Sprngvle for 6 years, the Southern bama & Georgia gals liked to hear me talk bc my accent is the North Tx/Okie drawl but in my opinion it didn't hold a candle to Southern Talk. People used to say Ok had the nicest people- after we moved to 'Bama I challenged that! I love the way Sothern momas make their boys into gentlemen- beginning at a very young age. Hold the door open for the ladies? You BETTER if Moma is there! 😆
Thanks, David! I always enjoy thinking about underground Chattanooga. I would like to figure out how to go down there someday if it is still open in any area. I think the trees in the median of Broad Street willow Oak. We have some of them at work and I’m thinking about planting one in my backyard.
Thank you for the tree ID. I couldn’t tell at the time and they resemble the pin oaks like my grandmother had in her yard when I was a kid so I defaulted to that.
Hey David, great video! And I love your photographing evidence of the buildup of downtown due to the constant flooding from the river. You mentioned the basement of the Sports Barn. I worked for Chattanooga Cable a.k.a. Comcast when it occupied that building. It had a old elevator to access the basement where we stored materials, and I recall seeing the evidence of a tunnel and other artifacts of the original grade before the buildup. It was intersting then, but fascinating now. Love your photos of downtown, especially the video of the ornate structural members on the building being supported by the beams and cables. Please respond what that building is (or was) and its location. Thanks!
I dont know the name of the building but it is addressed as 619 Market St Chattanooga TN. I have not done any digging into the origins of the building so I dont know much about it at this point. It is cool to learn about things from people who saw it first hand. Thank you for sharing that with us. That is so cool. 👍📸
Nice work David. It seems very strange as to why they raised the level of the streets so much. How do you feel about a trip to the Cat Cafe, apparently they have 30 cats.
Hi David. Are you tempting this old Belgian guy with all the Nikon/Nikkor wording in the header? Still following and enjoying your channel, just a bit in a slump myself. Following your wise words, I should "get my camera out and go and take some pictures". Take care, thanks for the video! 😊
Nice video! Interesting, for sure regarding what became of Chestnut St. While watching this, I had a thought that might not be of interest to you, but if I had a TH-cam channel, I might consider it. At a certain point after a number of Chattanooga photo walks, the number of people who recognize you should go up. "Oh, there goes David Saylors" could be something you might hear from time to time. But I wonder if it would have a positive effect on your channel to have a tee shirt designed for you to wear on your photo walks. Something simple like "David Saylors Photography" and maybe "See Me On TH-cam." Anyway, food for thought - Cheers!
well done David, more of these please!

Good for you David in getting your steps in! I enjoyed your tour! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate you old man. 👍📸

It was an interesting look at Chattanooga, thank you David.
Thank you Pam!

Whoa, pretty nice history there. I would love to see what Chattanooga looked like all those years ago.
Me too Hassan, I have wondered what it looked like back then so many times.
love my Nikon Zf 😍 great camera
It is rapidly becoming one of mine too
😊 Hey David, that Zf is producing some crazy good photos with that beautiful lens 😊
Thank you Carmine. I am really starting to love this one.
Nice walk. Street name changes always baffle me too, and they're everywhere.
Yes. They are. I boggles my mind too. Thank you
Pretty cool about those cast iron pillars. I’ve never noticed them! And 100k steps??? Nope. Nope. Nope.
Me neither. I dont know if I could walk the next day after that!!!

Sometimes, it's hard to understand what city planners were thinking 😂😂😂
Yeah. Lol. Really!!!!
I wanna walk chattown
Come on down!

I need to do that at some point. My daughter has done it and says it is great. They are all adaptable cats if memory serves me.
So David, are you going to be using the Nikon ZF for your Street Photography now?
I will some (well…probably alot) going forward. It is a fun camera to shoot with.

Yes, Peter, you read that right. I am rocking a Nikon on photons again. Randall Brander traded me his Zf so now I am rubbing that

That is a great idea actually. Thank you for that. I will look into it and see what I can come up with.
Don't like zfc & zf ergonomics personally, prefer Z50 or a D850
Yeah, it is a personal preference thing for certain.
@davidsaylors
I sold my zfc very quickly..tech inside was very usable @ price-point but the fingers & thumbs weren't happy.
I have really enjoyed the Zf so far. It works so well that it is almost like cheating. It is what my XT3 was supposed to be.
