Much underrated
I want to share this story. Around 1991 I read in the Scottish Daily Record about a young man who committed suicide near me, less than five miles away. He was found in an area of countryside just a short distance from his home near Cambuslang. He may have came from a village called Halfway. I think he hung himself. Beside him was a walkman and they actually named the tapes he had with him. One of them was The Adventures Trading Secrets With The Moon. Another was The Lilac Time, possibly Paradise Circus. There was a third album named but I can't remember it. It really affected me as I liked that music too, had all The Adventures albums and always felt a bit of an outsider. Perhaps he was the same. Anyway, whenever I listen to this music I still think of that poor lad and wish we'd known each other. It might have helped, might have made no difference.
That’s a sad story but it gives weight to this bands ability to emotionally connect with people. The sound of their music and the wide open vulnerability of the lead singers voice make it all very real and emotional, in a good way.
i really can not understand why this band had not bigger success . They were perfect . Super songs , so much better than most of the successful bands
Have recently become a huge fan! Shame they did not have more commercial success. Quickly an 80s favorite band....too bad 30 years too late. Simply awesome!
I agree...very mature, well written, well produced and perfectly performed songs. They should have been huge.
@@paulbyrne2445 exactly brother , i couldn't agree more with what you said

so in love with them ❤
I return to this band over and over again. So many elegant productions!
Greatest Shade of Blue was always my favourite. Would have loved to have bern the female backing singer of this group. Amazing great memories.
The Adventures should of been massive back in the eighties! Thanks for the memories and unbeatable tunes! May these songs live forever!
Should be unbeatable tunes!
They should have been perhaps a bit more well known, been played at a few more nice dinner parties.
The best song that nobody's ever heard

A glorious slice of early 90s Celtic flavoured jangly pop! Why wasn't this song bigger?
Why wasn't this band bigger? It's one of pop music's great unanswered questions.

He looked like Marlon Dingle from Emmerdale in his younger days.

He sounds like the singer from wet wet wet.

They could have made it as big as U2 back in the day, so what happened?
Good find of a new old band. What band is similar to?
They sound like a new version of The Wets on this, early 90s y'say?
What is this song actually about? Great band and song but the video has me wondering.
