What a great band. I first saw them opening for Tears for Fears at Redrocks Colorado. Never heard of them at that point but left the concert wanting to hear more from them. Totally blew away Tears for Fears, the main attraction. Thank you for the video.
Thanks to "The Adventures"!! - Good romantic music from the 80's! Wish we would have more of this kind of music on our radio-stations. Reminds me to 10cc "I'm not in love"
non c è nulla da fare ogni volta che l ascolto l emozione è sempre la stessa come se 37 anni non fossero mai passati vorrei fosse la colonna sonora del mio funerale come una delle cose più belle che mi hanno toccato l anima in questa vita terrena there is nothing to do every time listening the emotion is always the same as if 37 years had never passed I would like it to be the soundtrack of my funeral as one of the most beautiful things that touched my soul in this earthly life
Previous comments said it all: Awesome song, thanks for bringing it back, missed it since it was deleted, it takes me back, and this song will always sound great. I'll never understand, either, why a great song like this didn't go anywhere. If you saw the original video, you hear his acting teacher voice his frustration with his poor reading of his lines for the play: he shows no feeling, no emotion. Once he gets the "Dear John" letter, he sure reads his lines with passion and emotion.
mi manca la musica anni 80, mi mancano i miei amici degli anni 80, mi mancano i 18 anni che avevo negli anni 80... i miss 80's music, i miss my 80's friends, i miss my 18 years i had in 80's..
Aaah...I can't believe I'm just finding this now!! I remember seein' this on MTV amazingly enough as a kid back in the day...really good times. thanks so much for the post. A band that didnt' make it big here in the states but is one of my alltime favorites.
Mir gefällt dieser song . Es verbindet mich ! Schön das immer noch hören zu dürfen ! Danach ging es da so richtig los ! Aber es war noch eine gute musik ! Mir bleibt sie immer verbunden ! Noch was echtes , musikalisches , einfach toll !
Superb band from Belfast in the early 80's. It's a crying shame they never quite hit the big time. This song is from an album called "Theodore And Friends", on which every song could have been a single. Actually, this version sounds quite a bit different from the album version. Brilliant.
SlowCarToChina Theodore and friends was a good album. However their next one, Sea of Love was far superior. IMO they had matured musically and it also contained their only top 20 UK hit - Broken Land. I am not sure why they were not more successful, bad management, wrong place wrong time?? Who knows. The music still exists though.
this is a very very beautiful song and the video is also nice. every time i watch this video i have this feeling that i can't explain. CAMALLO70 many thanks for uploading this!
I love it...big hair, no real plot and the lead singer wears Ray Bans that make him look like Tom Cruise in "Risky Business." You HAVE to love the '80s!
I saw this band open up for Tears for Fears (1985?) "Songs From The Big Chair" tour at Carnegie Hall? NYC.... Sorry for the fuzzy memory - Anyway, they were terrific and the crowd loved 'em. I still have their 1st (and only?) LP vinyl.
Well, 38 and a couple of months still cuts it, no!? But you are right, it's one of the eighties songs that stuck most in my mind - and there were a LOT of good ones.... :D
In the original video, his acting teacher is frustrated with his poor reading of his lines for the play "Shadow of a gunman" (you see him in this video). The lines are about a guy whose girlfriend has left him for another man. He recites them with no feeling, no emotion. At the end of the video, after got the "Dear John" letter, he reads those lines again: this time with a lot of feeling and emotion because he has just been dumped, and he is hurting. His teacher is very pleased now.
they did make it big...in Europe, They're succes in the US is, thankfully limited. Thats why when I pump it out of the speakers in my Impala, people say :great song". Cool!
No, it was another horror movie, took place in a movie theatre, girl put on this mask that cut her face and became the undead, then the rest of it was predicitable.
they supported tears for fears back in the eighties me and my mate had tickets for both nites @the bham odeon the second nite we only went back to se the adventures again they were awsome live
Nah it was just a pub team called he Bricklayers Arms. The pub was/is in Tottenham High Road not far from the Spurs ground (Tottenham Hotspurs FC). All the boys were midfielders although Spud also put some time in the defence with me. Terry was "seeing" Sarah Dallin from Bananarama at the time and it caused uproar whe she turned up one Sunday morning!!!!!

OMG I am so jealous where the heck did you get hold of one of those? Easier to find teeth on a bird! I had one back in the 80s but he got stolen with the rest of my collection in the early 90s :(
Hi. I'm russian, help me understand, what the singer means, when he sings the words "Send my heart". He means that he sending his heart to somebody, to a girl maybe? But how is that possible?
Wunderbar

Terribly underrated band. They were simply great... and the quantity of memories they left is a clear signal!
Great song! Brings back such great memories!
Cannot believe this is 30yo, sounds better today, than it did in '84. What a record.

Period.
Awesome song. The Adventures have some cult followings from where I came from, the Philippines.
My favourit 80`s cut at this moment.
My better part brought me 2 this wonderful piece of music!!!

I have their singles from the 80's. I played this one to death and so wanted it to be a huge hit. It's the most gorgeous melody.
I have the album. For this was one of the outstanding songs of the 80s. Better than Broken Land.
indietrissimo con la memoria

I think this is a soundtrack of a certain horror movie. Very nice song/video!
+stoneroses13 The movie EVIL DEAD... :-)
No, it was another horror movie, took place in a movie theatre, girl put on this mask that cut her face and became the undead, then the rest of it was predicitable.
I don't think its Evil Dead
+stoneroses13 It was "Demons" (1985) directed by Lamberto Bava, produced by Dario Argento.
