Welcome to Unguided, where I'm trying to complete every quest in old school runescape without using a guide, wiki or plugins. I'll only be using my limited knowledge and in-game learnings. Full rules below.

RULES
- No use of OSRS wiki (or any equivalent) for anything - this includes looking up item spawns, quest guides, boss guides, anything
- No use of any other quest helper sites
- No use of quest helper plugin
- Essentially no use of any outside-game assistance
CAVEATS
- I love OSRS TH-cam, I might inadvertently learn something I don't know by watching my favourite content creators, but I'm not going to stop watching them so that's just a risk I'm willing to take + it's unlikely going to be relevant for me
- I may use some QoL plugins, but only a few. Loot tracker to prove grinds, ground items so I don't miss drops (and to add cool loot beams lol) and left click to use bones. Nothing that will give me info I didn't previously have
- I'm going to try and avoid any spoiler comments. If you can, please try not to help me if there's an episode where I'm stuck on something. I appreciate the sentiment but telling me an item spawn or quest step could spoil the fun :)

This quest actually has a small easter egg for people that use guides. In the section where he requests 8 ropes, if you already have them in your inventory (because a guide told you to bring them), he will accuse you of being a witch, to which your character amusingly replies that they are a ropes salesperson.
So let me get this straight. In-universe your character would have bought the rope from Ned who bought the rope from these isles and now youbare selling the rope back to them.

The mildly concerned "oh my cat's dying" gets me every time.
just build a nice spot for the pets in your house, and they can eat from the thing. Then you alch in the meantime.

Hopefully you keep going even after questing. Unguided bossing and some other adventures would be greatly appreciated. I like that you're using gear you actually like and not just rocking the most optimal stuff. Thats what is most fun for me!
Also glad to see people doing something else than the most efficient things since I do view it as a bit of a downfall of the gaming culture.

He has over a hundred quests stoll to go by my count, it's been around a quest per week so at least a few more years until he runs out. Maybe he will try out RS3 after that, for the quests that don't exist in OS, unguided of course. We'll see

I remember asking on a very early video and he confirmed planning to do exactly that in the future. I think that that was the barrows first boss thing was about during the intro

It's like watching a DnD campaign. Watching these quests I've done a long time ago through your lense is so fun, never really followed the story that much until later, so it is very entertaining. Keep it up!
it 100% funny because he could of just look at magic skill and seen the level requirement to know the spell is real or not. never change alien, you truly are every kid 1st time play time of the game and it bring back so many memories.
The best part of that is he demonstrated that he could have done that for magic when he did it for construction. Can't wait to see him get and use lunars

Oh boy we’re working towards Lunar Diplomacy. I’ve been excited for that one. It is a personal favorite ever since childhood. It’s also appropriate to tackle it next to Desert Treasure too. Can’t wait.
Hes actually working towards Dream Mentor, which you need to unlock the spell. He is completely unprepared for that fight
He can say Ungadulu perfectly every time in Legends quest but gets stumped on words like Underfed, I love this series :)

Already loved this series, but doing While Guthix Sleep almost entirely blind yesterday gave me a whole new appreciation!
I also tried to do a quest unguided about a week back. The Tribal Totem quest. I got... maybe two steps in before I got stuck.

Only thing I had to look up was the balance dolman near the end. I thought I glitched something. Totally understand how one small detail can send you spiraling for hours. Can’t wait to see him do some harder quest bosses

One important part about the Helm to keep in mind is that it doesn't have any negative attacking bonuses, meaning that if you ever have to swap attacking styles, it works quite well!
Also every 30 prayer bonus is double duration on prayers, so +3 bonus is like 10% longer prayers!

Honestly it’s really easy to say “I can’t believe you didn’t know you could check materials” but I think it’s pretty dope to teach about the game, lil quality of life tips

Nice and straightforward quest for once.
I actually took your series to heart and did the new quest without a guide! I really enjoyed the puzzles more without knowing the solution immediately, and even resorted to using random items on things at one point (I missed something that had some items needed to progress)

Fremminick Isles is actuality pretty funny if you're able to hear what the cat is saying with an amulet from another quest
Also both the window tax and beard tax were real historical taxes
I did just that when I completed the quest, fetched the catspeak amulet whrn the cat started meowing. Iirc the cat is just as much of a douchebag as its owner
I've burst out into a belly laugh three times now. Never did this quest so I didn't know I was missing this gem of a quest.

If I see a cat, and its not in the underground pass, im running to the bank for that amulet lol - OSRS cat lore is second only to the Mahjarrat lore
latest gamejam had an idea for an update with a bestiary ingame that would save monster information forever, hopefully they develop that
I've done this quest so many times but had no fucking clue about the Ned and Rope lore, I regret skipping through this quest text, this genuinely blew my mind
This is the first comment I've seen about that but I found it both hilarious and interesting 😂 the way the character calls ned a fraud made me genuinely laugh out loud
What's really funny is if you show up with rope already in your inventory, the king accuses you of being a witch, you then proceed to try and convince him somewhat successfully that you're just a traveling rope salesman 😂😂😂
I wonder how many times he's going to react to his cat wanting food or attention by saying that it's "about to die" throughout this series.

Alien Food in Gielenor Games Season 5, would be so entertaining seeing how he handles the challenges.
"Do I take you for a fool?! Yes I do!" One of the best lines of any quest, and almost guaranteed to be worn while wearing a jester outfit which is even better.
The Fremenik questline was always one that I have a lot of nostalgia for growing up, so seeing the quests done from your perspective here has been so fun. Cheers!

One of my favorite things about this series is the genuine enthusiasm about the lore. I learned a lot about Fremenik Isle lore in this video and found it really interesting.
I found out that you can click on the construction and spells and stuff within the skill guide when I was pretty early to find out what you need for them. It's been a fundamental part of my account progression since! Glad you found that and showed it here, I don't think a lot of people are aware of it and it's super helpful.

I love how at the start you are at barbarian assault where there are multiple plank spawns behind the bank (you can see the red dots on the minimap, could probably see them if you rotated the camera a bit) and you're saying you dont know a good way to get planks. 😂 Loving the series mate. It's not really that many I think. Maybe 3? I know it's a meme that you always get people drunk but it doesn't happen that often (you give beers as gift in many quests but not for the purpose of getting them drunk)

That's why you can wear a cat speak amulet for this quest and see what the cat says
Loved that you used Norse Code during your backstory explanation of the war on the isles. The gimmick is that it spells out Runescape in morse code. Kind of goofy, but I love stuff like that about the game.

If you’re wearing an amulet of Catspeak while talking to the first king, the cat actually has dialog other than meowing away
Fun fact about window taxes. That's actually a thing that the Brits did to the America's.
If u go to Boston MA they have several old history buildings with bricked up windows. Because people couldn't afford all the damn taxes so they boarded/bricked their windows there by avoiding the tax
Apparently the idea was that wealthier people would have more windows and so they could pay more taxes, which is dubious logic. IDK why Britain didn't just tax based on income. Maybe the king just hated windows XD

The window tax was first put into place in England and Wales. It wasn't only done to the colonies!

Some people struggle with the end battle because they bring their own PVE gear, by keeping on the yak armor and fremenik shield you actualy take way less damage in the final battle
