Why do you have to cut the connector though? Couldn´t you have made an adapter cable? Doesn´t seem right. Also, cutting cables will void your warranty so that´s not good. Does anyone here know if the R&G plate holder does the same?

Try it patiently until you acquire adjust the holes to introduce the screw.
