I find it so strange that so much fruit & veg is prepackaged in plastic in the UK! I live in Canada and here our grocery stores just have all the fruit and veg out so you can take as much or as little as your want and can choose whether or not to put it in the plastic bags they provide. Even things that come in plastic often come in recyclable plastics. The herbs you bought for example most likely would have been in a recyclable plastic container. I wonder why this is? I would think it would save them time and effort not to wrap things up! I really appreciate that you do what you can to reduce and you are constantly aware of the packaging on what you're purchasing. Btw, loving vlogmas, I look so forward to your videos and get so excited when I see one in my subscription box!!
Kyra S shes had several vlogs before where she has stated how much she dislikes buying it and I remember her not buying certain things in the store because it was packed like that. Sometimes its unavoidable.
RoisinV yes I know! My comment was entirely about the way the uk packages produce. I know she does her best to avoid it and yes it’s obviously unavoidable if the uk packages everything this way. I was just drawing a parallel to the way Canada does it because I think it’s weird that the uk packages the way they do. I said in my comment that i appreciate that she does what she can to reduce plastics.

I work for an energy company and old appliances, specifically fridges and freezers, account for a lot of your energy use. Sometimes the long run cheaper option is to buy something newer that’s more efficient to run.

Love the mirror too, I am in a real wood/rattan phase right now in things I am liking too. I love how Delilah is dressed exactly like the things that I buy for my granddaughter as a heartfelt rebellion against the pink/purple/sparkling/ruffled/TV character styling that is so prevalent in children’s clothing these days. I have exactly the same outfit as Delilah, except I have top-bun envy and I’m 54 years old!! Love the Vlogs. You seem so much more chilled these days, maybe all the worry about the house purchase these last months has affected you more than you know. I am a retired military wife and we have moved dozens of times in our lives, even internationally, and I find it incredibly stressful and I have been doing it since I was a baby. So I know how much the worry about uprooting, even if it is a delightful and wished for move, can unsettle you. I am a creature of nesting, I like my home to be my sanctuary and it takes me a while to settle into a new home til it is my nest. I have been in this house just over a year and I am now finally fully nested, hopefully to stay forever here. I feel you are much happier since the move and it is lovely to see, I hope this continues and positively affects your health and well being. Us old timer moms know how hard it is to care well for a child, and you are doing an amazing job! Sorry if I am sounding weird and gushy. But your vlogs bring a lot of us a lot of joy in a hectic and not always nice world, so thank you for that, and I hope this Christmas is especially wonderful for all of your family and for the rest of us viewers. Cheers!

Would a small chest freezer not be more suitable? They fit a good bit of food in them
you already probably know this but, if you take a spoon and under cold water with your hands and rub it with your hands it will get rid of the onion or what ever smell.

When you say it pains you that all the herbs come in packets, I feel your pain. Have you ever looked into Eco Bricks? My boss told me about them and we’ve now started one in our office for everyone to use!

i dont know whether you saw my comment on your vlog the other day but i asked whether you're getting blinds or anything for your kitchen? :) as surely your neighbours can see through when its dark outside, and me personally wouldnt would as comfortable and cosy without blinds as id feel exposed haha x
Our neighbours have blinds in their kitchen so no ones looking in and in our bedroom, we have no one looking over us. We want to form of blind/curtain in there but waiting to find some I like :)
