Yes! Your approach got my printer working again! You talked about the ink not going through the tubes to the print head and to do a system clean. Very easy to do! I have had trouble getting this printer to print and have tried to get it working off and on for about two to three years -- but never once come across a common sense trouble shooting like you did. I am forever grateful so I don't have to run to a print/copy shop every time I need to print something! it was clear that the ink wasn't being fed to the print heads and that fixed the issue! How simple! Thanks for posting this!

You sir deserve a medal! Thanks for the help! For anyone with Canon G650 printer the same process can be followed from the printer (no PC/laptop required). On the printer go to: setup menu > maintenance > ink flush.
