Yep the old "Barn Tin" sprocket, as one old Cat Skinner described them to me - so dull that they have the same rounded rolling profile as the old tin roofing from back in the day lol 😂 When you find sprockets worn that bad, the final drive is usually ruined too because the track has been slipping on them for so long that the shock loads start tearing up the gears. Thanks for getting these on video 👍
Interesting. I once bought a 1970 John Deere 350 dozer with a 6 way blade that had been sitting for many years. It had the tracks and finals, and steering clutches removed. The original owner had everything torn apart and in boxes. I ended up totally rebuilding the rear of that tractor… shafts, bushings, bolts, clutches, modern oil filled top and bottom rollers etc… it was a pretty big project. That’s tractor only had a couple thousand original hours and it was super straight with good original paint. But, I probably should’ve passed on it looking back. That little tractor sorta nickel and dimed me. Every hoses ended up being replaced, repacked all the cylinders. I got pretty deep into it money wise. It’s always tempting to snag those type projects, but they can end up costing some money to resurrect. Especially since their cat and parts are pretty expensive. And I’m a definite caterpillar fan. I was a heavy equipment field mechanic with my own service truck, but it still got expensive for what it was and what it was actually worth. I should’ve just waited and bought a later model 450 with wet clutches, I probably would’ve been money ahead finding one in tip top shape to begin with.
@@stanpatterson5033 I'm not sure. It's too far from where I live for me to easily aquire. There is no house nearby. Not sure who they belong to. I hope they don't get scrapped

Any chance these will be, or could be rescued, before they accumulate more graffiti and slowly rust away?
