    I'm Thai. I've watched your vdo once. I might not understand every sentence but I read comments and would like to help more suggestions. Please avoid places like for tourist only. It's really expensive foods and some not original taste (but original is spicy for you guys). I'm honest to say Pad Thai at Khaosarn rd. is not Pad Thai. It's fried noodle. If you stay near office area. You can follow where the salary men eat. If you stay near university. You can find inexpensive foods at canteen. If you stay at some condos, walk around your condo. There are Thai shops cook whatever you order (we called A-harn Tam Sang shop) and you also can tell them "please less spicy - Ped noynoy"
    I took tuktuk just few times in my life. About taxi, avoid to ask them at tourist place, please use BTS and MRT or Grab, if you really need. (Thais use Line app also. I call taxi from Line taxi usually bcoz there are many promotions for discount)
    I hope these help. Enjoy !!!
    Edit: Thank you guys for 300+ LIKES!! 😍

      And yes, price of foods is higher each year. But after I came back from Luangprabang, Lao. I feel Thai foods are cheap lol

    • @nich_nichacha
      @nich_nichacha 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Alex Croton It's true. Every Thais who have been there said the same thing. Lao has many local vegetables but imported ingredient products from Thailand. Ppl there cook at home, don't eat outside. The cost of living is higher than Thailand. I really tried to find local foods. It's start from 15k kep or 60B ($2) for papaya salad at market. (It starts 35-40B in Thailand) So it will be very expensive in restaurant. I spent 100+B/meal there. I really missed Thai foods while I was travelling there lol but I love local ppl so much !

    • @schwartzenheimer1
      @schwartzenheimer1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is much cheaper if you live like a Lao person. As a tourist in a tourist trap like Loungprabang, you have ATM written on your forehead that only Lao people can read...

    • @nich_nichacha
      @nich_nichacha 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@schwartzenheimer1 Thanks for your opinion. Yes, it's similar tourist places in Thailand. I had some nice meals with Laotian manager at guesthouse also (own cooking.) I just wonder why there has high cost of living than Thailand. I searched info after my trip and understood Lao situation more. Anyway I like ppl there. I'm planing to visit again next month :)

    Great advice in this video. As a person who likes to live in BKK for long stretches I agree with all this. However I would still recommend Khao San Road for the vibe. If you go looking for a genuine Thai experience, you won't find it here and don't just stay around this area as the city has much to explore, but for an evening, it has a great vibe, a decent bit of shopping and you get to meet people from all across the world. Also, grabbing an insect snack here is a good way to drum up a conversation. ;)

    I have been to Bangkok twice and I think I have been pretty smart to avoid scammers. I've avoided Khao San Road and any shady areas at night plus I don't drink alcohol anyway. I agree that use the MRT because that is what I did without much fuss. The only time I've booked a taxi was for transfers between airport and hotel but it was still reasonably priced. But never user taxis or tuk tuks in the city itself

    Well done! First vlog that ever mentions that Bangkok (and the same apply to other Thailand's touristy destinations) is indeed expensive. Accommodation, booze, entertainment, food and shopping are more or less on par with other Asian megacities. I would add a No. 9, namely pollution. This is now a serious health issue across Thailand, from Petchaburi (South Bangkok) all the way up to Mae Sai (the Northernmost city in the Kingdom).

    A little suggestion for new farangs visiting Bangkok, Pattaya, Phucket, Chang Mai or any of the other party destinations in Thailand. Get a Thai girl or guy which ever floats your boat online, maybe for dating or friends, she or he will be a good guide and a cheap tag a long. I am very lucky to have a Thai wife that warns me about bad, and gets excited about the good fun things. Your video was very good and will help newbies have a safe fun experience. Good job man!

    - I agree that Khao San Road is good only for begginers or if you want cheao accomodation.
    - Yes, transport is best to take the BTS from 1500 onwards unless its a place you have to get by cab. In that case I'd suggest taking a cab from the nearest BTS to your destination
    - For beer you can go to 7-11s or go to bars during happy hour.

    I have lived in Thailand about 18 months. Khao San road is a dump. It's infested with rats and smells bad. Walk around there at sunrise and you'll see them everywhere. Taxi drivers are the worst, most of them drive like maniacs. Besides that, I've enjoyed living here.

      I will never forget the smell of Khao san road and how dirty it was but in saying that once the sun went down and the drinks start flowing then it alot more tolerable haha

    Hi Nomad Nik, I am curious as you say this video is Bangkok Travel Guide 2019 and you have lived in Bangkok in January 2019 but you have uploaded this video in Dec 2018. How can you upload a video you say you shot in 2019 in 2018?

    Some good advice but seems more directed to people on a very very tight budget... More on minor money saving tips rather then scams

    Khao San road is an institution it would be like visiting Vegas and not entering a Casino or traveling to Egypt but not visiting the pyramids.

      Well the video is subjective and in my opinion I think it's not worth a visit anymore. But thanks for your feedback! :)
