@@pedullastudio I like woodworking but I only wish I had your amount of love and dedication to take on such an undertaking. This is incredible and you sir are a creative genius.
My wife is ticked! But she went to bed already. That gives me another few hours to watch and learn master level skills of a humble, furniture designer and maker at his craft! So greatful for finding your channel!!! Signing up for patreon tomorrow! Just have to woo the wife, lol! Signing up no matter what! She'll be psyched for me, I was kidding earlier. That's what I tell myself anyway, lol! Seriously, we'll both be happy! You will be my first patreon ever. I'm a hard sell, as I've been in this business for a long time. You actually got me during your "bench build". Freaking Beautiful!!! As far as "planning", I'm completely greatful parts of your life have been committed to "show and tell". Your on an Awesome trajectory! Your skills in design and execution leave only wonder and bewilderment! Folks, this is for real!!! Thank you! 66carpenter
There are plenty of TH-camrs who are experts at what they do (I'm talking about the skill they are sharing, not their content creating skills, though there are experts in that as well), but I think this has got to be the single greatest demonstration I've seen of a truly elite craftsman showing us how he does it. Before TH-cam, if I saw this bench, I might have thought it was made by a wizard, or it was an illusion. I'm exaggerating, of course, but it's just tremendously generous of you to show us how you did it. Amazing.
You asked the question at the end EXACTLY how I was asking it myself: “What on earth did I just watch?” Halfway through the video, I was about to say that this was just far too much work for a bench! But as an artist, I realized that this isnt just a “bench,” it is creative- artistry at its finest, which you can’t put a time-limit on, or quantify the amount of work involved. Simply brilliant! Bravo! 👏🏾
It reminds me of a girl I dated who made business cards out of distressed wood on one side and gorgeous letterpress on the other. I couldn't imagine how they could be "affordable" ... and it wasn't until much later that I realized ... the point is hardly about being affordable or economical ... or perfunctory, as my little brain likes. No. It was a statement of what you get with this person. The detail, the care, the acumen, and the love.
The level of artistry displayed in this piece is truly remarkable. Even the mere thought of attempting such a project seems overwhelming, but you've executed it flawlessly. Your craftsmanship is nothing short of amazing!
Incredible imagination, talent and passion. Each video is a real gem. I dare to say that they are by far the most professional and best videos in this field, and it is particularly enjoyable that there is no narration during the video, the images and movements speak for themselves. Flowing calmness, satisfaction and outstanding music, all stress goes away. Nick, thank you! I believe that soon there will be millions of views on the channel, the whole world needs to see this.
I am so impressed by the craftsmanship shown , when I first saw the finished piece, I thought it was a sculpture, well not made out of wood... it is really a piece of art. I am so grateful you have these videos available to all and more detailed ones as well. I wish you many years of success and many apprentices to follow your steps. All the best!!
Usually this kind of highly technical processes are used by aviation engineers to laminate complex CAD finite element structures. Seeing this in furniture design is absolutely rare. And the way you master those techniques is an absolute delight and joy to watch. Thank you for letting us watch it in your videos. By the way, the filming is also very satisfying.
I thought the last video was incredible but this one is insane ! your workmanship is beyond I have seen in all the woodworking videos over the years 👍🏼
I watched this video now the 3. Time and it still takes my breath. In my point of view it is one of the 10 nicest furniture builds on TH-cam. Please more of that
This was absolutely fascinating to watch...a work of art...I have worked with acrylic plastic for 50 years...and done some "impossible" pieces myself...and I have collaborated with many artists over the years...but this is genius...
You never cease to mesmerize us. When you lined up the laser and I then saw the saw, my toes cringed but then I realized you had to cut the base. This piece should be in a museum or at the least a competition as it would win. Nick, I only wish I had a quarter of your talent
I’m delighted to know that someone else’s toes cringed. I thought I was the only person who experienced that sensation. And I agree with everything else that you said.
I've been speechless for the whole video. I'm so thankful to be able to watch such a creative prodigy turning ideas into a piece of art. This bench looks like it's been brought back from a dream...
That was a lot of effort but worth it, one of the most unique piece I have seen made. The idea and method coupled with your skill set is what makes this so remarkable.
This is one of the most beautiful and challenging piece of furniture to make. Having had the pleasure of making many bespoke/free standing pieces of furniture I truly appreciate the amount of skill and knowledge required to create such a master piece. The whole video was amazing to watch but the sound of the bespoke shave was something else Thank you for sharing and well done
I agree with everyone but am still more impressed with what you have done over time to acquire your shop, machinery, tools, and materials. It all adds up to a small fortune and indicates a lengthy time period of demonstrated success aligning ever increasing quality with capable buyers. This can be multi generational ....and still is highly commendable. Markets are not simple to crack open wide enough to insert one's reputation into. Regardless of product skill, another skill set is required to turn the product into value, which is subjective and must be properly and confidently promoted without fear of turning down bids that fall under the level of master quality YET not amass a warehouse of unsold pieces that tie up capital to the point of drowning in the red. That in itself is a special art! Far beyond me on all accounts! Hats off to you, Sir, ....and Bravo!!
Iconic build. Just an epic amount of vacu-seal work that is not shown. I am interested in hearing the total clock time on this one. Truly a one of a kind build!
Pfffffff Man, this is just fantastic! Been in the industry for a while and it's easy to say that bench is astonishing. But there is something else that I mostly think about watching your videos, the level of proudness must be immeasurable, especially when the client sees the final result for the first time.
That, my friend, is a gorgeous example of a man at the very peak of his craft. A genuine example of modern art that could be auctioned for thousands of dollars, and the finished result is stunning. I happened across this video by chance, and do not at all regret spending 20 minutes watching a master at work.
Wow - this is a masterpiece that belongs in a museum. There are so many challenges to fit into the final design, and you make them all line up to perfection. Absolutely love your work ❤️❤️❤️
Perspective is an interesting facet of human nature...To some he is an artist ...to others a clever carpenter...Just watching in silence is to me a pleasure of seeing an amazing collection of experience and talent.....Thank you for sharing mate...
Sir, I say this with the utmost respect. I have been a craftsman for over thirty five years and not a big fan of wood crafting channels, even by some of the leaders in the industry. I find them to be solely money driven, Braggadocious and actually reduce the overall quality of the trade. True lovers of the craft do it for nothing more than the love of wood, in my personal opinion. That’s not to say all, but I do tend to find most of the channels I’ve come across to be that way. That being said you would be nothing like the forementioned, your ability is beyond impressive, I for one enjoy the fact that you do not speak through the whole video and allow viewers to enjoy the process. I just happened to run across your channel by complete accident, but glad that I did. Now that I have I’m a fan, and a subscriber. It is a true pleasure to watch master at work.
I am just flabbergasted at this work of art. I simply cannot fathom all the ingenuity involved in your work. Amazing - I am so happy that you are sharing this with us: thank you.
Wow. I am totally amazed by the technique and the final product. I have zero woodworking knowledge and skills and I’m not even capable of conceiving of a finished product such as this. I am totally in awe of the imagination behind all of this work.
This is the first time I've seen one of your videos and I just wanted to say how impressed I am, not only with your craftsmanship but also the design. There's a lot of great woodworkers out there, but very few are also exceptional designers. Thanks for all your hard work putting content like this together. I'm sure, as a new subscriber, I have plenty to look forward to and to look back at.
When I saw you sanding the bottom of the curve to get it level, I knew then, you are next level. Absolute respect to you. The patience and focus required to be maintained at every point of the construction, errors only pilling up, and to continue to move forward to the finished piece is the greatest tool you have.
Absolutely incredible piece. The immense skill it takes to pull off such a design is only part of the equation, the design itself is mesmerizing and takes a huge amount of vision to conceptualize. Very impressive work and entertaining video.
Amazing work! I just want to say how much I love TH-cam’s algorithm. I would’ve never known about you channel if it wasn’t for the algorithm. While I absolutely love woodworking. And I dabbled in it for a little bit, such as I’ve made a bench and a laundry folding table with a granite top, wainscoting, wooden spring loaded baseball pitching contraption for my sons, and I even tried Japanese kumiko. I never went all the way with it. I never had a work area for my projects. But thank you so much for reigniting that passion again in my life to give it a chance again. Oh last thing that rasp file you used, that tool deserves slot of respect. So many times it drew blood from me. 😂
Just found this channel, and I *need* to state how much incredible precision and forethought is present in the way you build things, and being able to plan and create such massive, stunning projects as a one-man team is awe-inspiring. You've earned yourself a remarkable level of skill and it truly shows in how beautiful your finished pieces are.
Absolutely blown away by your work! In the age of shaper origins and CNCs it is awesome to see someone truly build a piece completely by hand. As a side note, you really stressed me out with that inner piece when it wouldn’t come off the form! 😅
In 1980, when I was 20, at the Denver art museum I saw a show called Craft Today. It blew my mind, and was so exciting, I thought at the time I wanted to be a woodworker, and I wish I had... That aspect of my interest in art didn't develop into a profession, but I still have interest in the art as a medium. This is worthy of that show. It belongs,, and likely sooner or later will be in a museum. This man, Mr. Pedulla, is unusual to say the least. I think he's a visionary. Wow!
The attention to detail and sense of proportion, form, light and materiality is evident throughout this - even the way it is presented at the end. Bravo
I am absolutely speechless. This bench is amazing! From the ideation of the bench, to figuring out to process to build it, to the craftsmanship to bring it to life. Amazing work Nick! Trully beautiful and inspiring.
ive been doing very high end cabinetry and woodworking for 37 years and your skills and knowledge are extraordinary. You have had some great teachers. Bravo!
OK, I absolutely hate TH-cam videos that just start working on something and only show you at the end (when you can decide you didn't want to learn how to do that at all). YOU break the mold by letting us see this beautiful thing and we really want to know how you did it. Wonderful.
I like how at all the other woodworkers videos the comments are full of advice of how to do it better. And in his videos the builds are so well executed and so difficult and require extreme level of knowledge patience and creativity that nobody can say anything !!!
Wow, your creative vision and steadfast patience and courage is off the charts my friend! After watching many of your build videos and seeing you deliver incredible pieces each uniquely their own, each exquisite, one after another I believe there must be some inner voice that saying let’s test your limits and each time you respond nope haven’t reached it yet! Clearly, you are cruising at a rare altitude few have ever seen.
You made it look easy. Masterful job. My cousin willed me his vacuum pump that he used with the bags to do lamination. I will have to search around and see if the bags and hookups are also in the lot. I also inherited thousands of dollars of laminate. I was fortunate to have rented shop space in an old mill that housed multiple wood shops. I am familiar with a lot of your techniques if only as by aquaintance to them. The shop had its share of genius workers.
When I had an idea as a home builder, I had to build the structure or project in my mind before I could even commit it to paper. I would make changes and adjustments as I was drawing. Then make real world adjustments as I was building it. As amazing as your skills are, and as amazing as your finished pieces are, what boggles my mind his that this piece actually started as a thought, an idea. The best and most important tool in your shop is your mind. Remarkable!
I have been quietly following your videos for some time thank you. This piece is stunning and among the finest examples of craftsmanship I have had the pleasure of seeing. I think an exhibition of your work is thoroughly deserved
Wow......not just the mental twist to envision but the Technical ability to produce........makes me glad that yt exists as in previous times this kind of talent would never see the public
The whole world needs you and peace, I thought I’m very knowledgeable and creative person but I think I was wrong you are gifted person indeed. Love from Sydney-Australia
I’m lost for words! Stunning doesn’t even come close. To come up with that concept and then execute it so immaculately - your brain works in a completely different way from the rest of us mere mortals. But thank God it does!!
well, that just slightly blew my mind a little.. thanks! =) hehe. also from the bottom of my heart, a huge and giant thank you for not only allowing us to join you in your experience through such a beautifully filmed piece, but also in helping all other people named Nick feel better about ourselves knowing we have such talented representatives past and present =) happy holidays and cheers! I'm finally inspired to finish my much less amazing attempt at a wood bench restora-hab-uild.
This is INSANE. And I mean that with the utmost respect. Every bit of this piece is miles beyond anything I've ever seen. Fuck going to a museum - this table is MEANT to be used!
My father was a cabinetmaker and all my childhood and part of my youth I have seen him work with wood (fundamentally in cedar and mahogany), he really loved his work.....I am an electronic engineer but I have always been passionate about woodworking. Really seeing you make this work of art I can only congratulate you for the brilliance with which you execute your work. really extraordinary 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Wow! That is the most intricate peice of furniture I've ever seen. Structurally it doesn't even seem possible. Conceptually it's as artistic and visually interesting as some of the greatest architectural sculptures. It really is a museum quality piece of art!
I seriously have no clue about wood or wood-working. I came here by pure coincidence and was mesmerized by the way you did this. I watched the whole thing in awe of your craftsmanship.
I was so mesmerized, watched it again. The end result can only happen when a fine artist, a carpenter, an engineer and a genius dwell in the same body. That piece belongs to a modern art museum.
An excellent demonstration of this technique. Beautiful results. :D One friend from the local workshop used a similar system to create the new gunwhales for his boat. :D Three separate curves, one from bow to stern on the horizontal axis, and a different shape of curve on the vertical axis. He was able to create the third curve across the beam by using the shaping of the other 2 curves. :D
I used to think I was meticulous until I watched your videos. I’m amazed and inspired by your work, patience, work ethic and workshop. I could watch these well crafted works and videos all day long. My only criticism is I’m saddened that you’re not a U2 fan. Seriously!!! 😢😊
Fine Woodworking magazine has a gallery page where this could be a submission. I read the magazine each month but don't recall seeing this. I like the fact that he shows himself actually sitting on the construction. Other thought was applications for audio speaker acoustic designs. All thumbs up.
I have to say something but don't know what. this is masterful, when he put the laser beam on it and cut the piece out, I was thinking there is no way I would have it in me to cut into that piece. BRAVO my friend.
I think I am more impressed with the planning and forward thinking than the actual techniques which you already have mastered, a great project and thank you for sharing.
(I could not even watch the whole thing from start to finish wish I was looking away) I spent the day celebrating last week after I'd saved up enough money to buy my fifth clamp! But I still cannot believe what you still need just showed us >>> thank you thank you thank you so much!!!! I had no idea anything like this was possible! Just wish I knew how I could ever afford some of the tools you're working with! I am overwhelmed with a burning passion for woodworking put making a simple birdhouse is the most I can afford I wish I knew how you were able to get to where you are now!
Not gonna lie, I caught myself in the very beginning of the video (when I saw that beast of a table saw) being one of those annoying people that's like "yea that's easy cause you have all that equipment" then realized very quickly that you have some serious skills, and that's what matters. This is my first time stumbling on your channel, can't wait to check out more of your videos.
You Sir are a never ending source of amazement. You first invent/create a piece of art/furniture in your mind. Second you need to invent/create a way to build it. And then the shaping/sculpting. And finally the finishing. How hard it must be to let it go in the end to the customer. It would have to feel like you were selling a piece of your soul or putting a child up for adoption. You must really love your clients. God must really love you to have put so much of himself in you. Art from Ohio
I am absolutely "LOVING" this video 😁😁❤❤👍👍I stumbled upon your channel by mistake but am really glad I did 👍 WoW you're a genius in my opinion 🙏 So I have just subscribed to your channel and given you a HUGE thumbs up 😁👍 By the way I LOVE your workshop ❤and by coinsidence as of yesterday we started work on converting our barn into a large workshop 😁 I'm really happy and excited because it's not everyone who has such a large and spacious workshop, compare this to the place I was working in and it's the difference between heaven and hell 😲😄👍 Greetings from a Brit living in Poland 👍
And I thought my glue-ups were stressful. I also assumed that I was a world-class artisan, being able to hand-cut dovetail joints. 😉 Astonishing and I hope it was sold for a sufficient fee! Cheers and thank you from Sydney, Dave (quite envious of your workshop...).
I am ecstatic that I ran across your genius! Wonderful work. Beautiful results. I want to duplicate the one leg. The one where you stacked wood to create that beautiful curve. The remainder of what I watched was mesmerizing. And, your shop is beautiful! Thank you for the 19 minute joy ride!!! Joy. Pgh, PA
Somebody will love this item for its uniqueness but not me I'm afraid, HOWEVER, I have witnessed today a true craftsman at work with several pieces of ASH? To form a wood sculpture , it was wonderful to see somebody use a spokeshave so proficiently your skills are to be applauded. 👍👍👍

Absolutely incredible piece. The immense skill it takes to pull off such a design is only part of the equation, the design itself is mesmerizing and takes a huge amount of vision to conceptualize. Very impressive work and entertaining video.
Thanks so much
Amazing work!
This is pure artwork. Just thinking about trying to attempt something like this stresses me out lol. Amazing work!
I have no words to describe your project. It's just amazing. Absolutely crazy
Thanks so much
Absolutely blown away by your work! In the age of shaper origins and CNCs it is awesome to see someone truly build a piece completely by hand. As a side note, you really stressed me out with that inner piece when it wouldn’t come off the form! 😅
You were stressed out!! The great thing about editing video is I can cut out all the swear words 😂
Bravo
Honestly, this level of woodworking and design you don't find very often on TH-cam.
Definitely insanely creative. Question, have you tried forcing air into the bag to get it to come off easier?
Это что-то невероятное! Каждый раз этот человек творит что-то невообразимое!
thanks
Never in my life did I think I'd see wood make a calligraphic swirl that curls around a bench like in an 18th century drawing.
Skill! Bravo!
I am absolutely speechless. This bench is amazing! From the ideation of the bench, to figuring out to process to build it, to the craftsmanship to bring it to life. Amazing work Nick! Trully beautiful and inspiring.
Absolutely not in my wheelhouse of style but man, this is impressive! What an amazing piece of work.
Thank you
Must have taken inspiration from Joseph Walsh Studio?
ive been doing very high end cabinetry and woodworking for 37 years and your skills and knowledge are extraordinary. You have had some great teachers. Bravo!
Thank you
Anyone who says "craftsmanship is dying to to mechanical fabrication" needs to see this. Most AMAZING talent I have ever seen in woodworking. Bravo.
Extremely innovative and beautiful furniture piece. Craftsmanship and professionalism. Very well done, a joy to watch.
This artist is from other planet!!! Thanks for your visit!!
I know it's already been said in many comments already, but it's worth repeating. This is simply incredible artistry. Well done
Thank yoju
Absolutely brilliant friend! It must be seen in person. Patients Patients and more patients required.
Thank you
Amazing shop. The light is so dim. It stuns me. Yes, your vision and your ability to bring it to life are phenomenal.
I was so mesmerized, watched it again. The end result can only happen when a fine artist, a carpenter, an engineer and a genius dwell in the same body. That piece belongs to a modern art museum.
You're a true artist ! I thought I had pretty good spatial abilities, but your spatial sense is off the charts.
An excellent demonstration of this technique. Beautiful results. :D
One friend from the local workshop used a similar system to create the new gunwhales for his boat. :D
Three separate curves, one from bow to stern on the horizontal axis, and a different shape of curve on the vertical axis.
The imagination, patience and skill is next level! Love The Shop!
Fine Woodworking magazine has a gallery page where this could be a submission. I read the magazine each month but don't recall seeing this. I like the fact that he shows himself actually sitting on the construction. Other thought was applications for audio speaker acoustic designs. All thumbs up.
O man! This is not a furniture. This is piece of art. You are real master. Thank you for sharing your craft skills perfection.
(I could not even watch the whole thing from start to finish wish I was looking away)
I spent the day celebrating last week after I'd saved up enough money to buy my fifth clamp!
But I still cannot believe what you still need just showed us >>> thank you thank you thank you so much!!!!
I had no idea anything like this was possible!
Just wish I knew how I could ever afford some of the tools you're working with!
I am overwhelmed with a burning passion for woodworking put making a simple birdhouse is the most I can afford
I wish I knew how you were able to get to where you are now!
This is the most beautiful piece of functional art I've seen in a long friggin' time! You are simply fantastic at what you do.
Absolutely stunning... all of it... the video... the process... the craftsmanship... the engineering and of course the final product. Incredible!
That is one of the most awesome creative pieces of woodworking I have ever seen. Marvelous.
Twenty minutes of concentrated inspiration! Fantastic! Thank you, thank you thank you!
This piece of furniture does belong in a museum you guys are right. BEAUTIFULLY Done 😎
I can’t believe how incredibly beautiful that is. I can’t wait to explore the rest of your site.
I am absolutely "LOVING" this video 😁😁❤❤👍👍I stumbled upon your channel by mistake but am really glad I did 👍 WoW you're a genius in my opinion 🙏 So I have just subscribed to your channel and given you a HUGE thumbs up 😁👍
By the way I LOVE your workshop ❤and by coinsidence as of yesterday we started work on converting our barn into a large workshop 😁 I'm really happy and excited because it's not everyone who has such a large and spacious workshop, compare this to the place I was working in and it's the difference between heaven and hell 😲😄👍
Greetings from a Brit living in Poland 👍
That may be the most beautiful piece of furniture that I have ever seen. Just brilliant and so generous of you to share the process. wow.
What you do is beautiful art mixed with great technical knowledge.
You prove there are are not miracles, but will and dedication are the power.
I am left speechless! Your design is amazing and the execution is flawless. A museum piece for sure! Thank you for sharing!
Not sure I can add any more comments that haven't already been said. This the most beautiful wood project I have seen. Thanks for sharing.
Joy. Pgh, PA
Wow. I certainly hope to see that piece in a museum...it's simply incredible.
