He didn't buy him instead of a striker, he bought him to replace Xhaka. They probably thought it was a good deal because he can play 3 positions, but he isn't particularly good at any of them. It was just a bad buy.

@@pimpstar15 Don't think anyone expects him to take every opportunity, just to do better with them. He's a senior squad member with a great deal of experience making things look trickier than they are a lot of the time. To be fair to him all 3 of our forwards were poor.
