    Hope ya bet better soon. I'm under the weather too.. I looked into those drills a while back. Sorry it's been a pain in the neck for ya! You could knock a link or two off the chain and see how that does for tension.

      I hope you didn't buy one! Taking a link out of the chain will be the first thing I try- next will be some sort of tension block I think. Feel better 🙂

    I have heard some counties throughout the US have no tills drills that you can rent. We need to overseed this fall and I'm going to check into that option.

      I think our county does have one available for rent. I have never had good luck with renting things as they seem to have issues. And unfortunately it is about a 2 hour round trip to get it. Might be a good option for you though. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    I would have broadcasted all of it & passed on the drill regardless. It's just faster. That's me though. Hope you get well soon!!

      I wish I had passed on using the drill 😆 Thanks!!

    I hope you feel better soon ! That drill is annoying. No chart.
    We had a blender. A galvanized drum with a offset shaft of a frame. Boys got to rotate it.
    I've never seen another one like it.
    Thank you Chris.

      It sure is! That blender sounds like a neat tool. Thanks Bryce 🙂

    Dang! Always something. We broadcast all of our seed. I figure it it works for weeds...

    Well Mr Chris the seed is out, that's the main thing!! I know you have had a few battles with the drill but seems to hang in there though! Hopefully the rain set everything in motion for ya!! Don't feel bad at all, you should see my oats from the drill issues I had 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Hopefully you are feeling better and things are looking up for hay cutting soon!! Thank you sir for bringing us along, look fwd to more!! 👍👍😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

      I sure hope the rate the seed got applied was enough to thicken the hay stand. Hopefully be cutting hay in 2-3 weeks. I am better- this video was filmed about 4 weeks ago 🙃 I need to catch up on editing. Thanks Nelson!!

    Good morning Chris ☕☕☕
    Anything can have issues... Just some things are worse than others..
    Little tip, 1/2 gallon plastic bleach bottles make great scoops for cleaning out small seed boxes.

      It seems like all of my stuff, new or old, likes to have issues 😆 A plastic bottle would make a good scooper. Thanks again Ed!!

    Hi Chris, great video with the New Holland and Super Steer in action, to bad the planter does not work up to your satisfaction, may be a replacement for the long run will be worth the money👌👌👍👍

      Thank you Jan! Yes, I have my eyes open for an older International drill with grass boxes on it.

    Amazing those seeds can grow in all of that!

      I sure hope they can! We'll see what happens later in the season. Thanks 🙂

    Don't feel too bad about the metering flutes not being set evenly, even the expensive green ones aren't set up the same... But by the looks of it, yours is a lot easier to adjust.. I'm sure you can figure out an idler for the chains. Good oak block would probably work fine.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An oak block might work- good idea! Thanks Ed 🙂

      @@dehavenfamilyfarm might need to use 2, but it looks like there's slots to bolt them to. All the old combines used oak blocks cut in a half moon with the hole offset so it could be adjusted. Good luck!

    Can you tell us where you got the drill, or what the brand is? Thank you

    It's too bad it's being so finicky. The seed that's in the groves should germinate.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is- but it's just a cheap drill so I guess it's par for the course 😁 Hopefully something will grow! Thank you Pete!!
