As many times as they have re-released Skyrim i’m surprised they have never remastered Oblivion. It’s one of the best games ever made and from a business perspective it’s a for-sure win.
@Gamer Ghost Just incase you misunderstood the previous reply, there is a group of modders that have been completely remaking Oblivion from scratch with the same engine that Skyrim is on. It looks phenomenal, they've been working on it for years. It's in the closing stages, and best of all it is free in the sense they do not charge for it, though you will have to own Skyrim special edition and Oblivion. It will only be available on PC for the foreseeable future. But judging how money hungry and lazy Bethesda is I wouldn't be surprised if when it takes off they license it and bring it to console
@@_Mugman420 I would love it if they took it to console. There are so many fans that aren’t able to play on pc and we want everyone possible to play Skyblivion ❤️
@@Racecar2024 I hope so too, quality PCs are very expensive. I wouldn't put it past Bethesda to do some sort of collaboration. The Skyblivion team is literally doing all that hard work for free, from the ground up, redesigning everything, fixing the mechanics, adding cool looking enchantments, making the special weapons/daedric artifacts actually unique. I'm really impressed
My first playthrough when the base game came out, I hadn't played anything like it and didn't realize fast travel was a function. I played through the entire campaign walking everywhere I went. My athletics and acrobatics were 100 before I finished 1/3 of the game lmao. I don't regret it at all. It meant I discovered pretty much everything on my own and eventually knew the map like the back of my hand. Was pretty immersive too.
Yo same, I was like 12 or 13. I remember the first time I slept and I leveled up, I jumped from level 1 to level 20 or so because I had already been playing for 100+ hours. My mind was blown when I saw all the new armor.
The first time I played Oblivion, I got out of the Sewers and was in pure awe. The map marker was telling me to go one way to Weynon Priory, but as I realised I didn't HAVE to, and could go any way I wanted. The constant feeling of "I wonder what's in here?" When coming across every cave, ruin and building. Skyrim was amazing, but just didn't hit the same.
I love that in oblivion you can cast magic with a button. Not having to equip in in your hand and lose the ability of using a sword shield and magic. Or using two handed and magic. 10/10.
They should bring back touch spells that can be used in close quarters combat, even if you already have a melee or ranged weapon equiped, in fact the rune spells in Skyrim are a good example of this they could fuse the two and allow us to manipulate them at will by making a rune spell into a touch spell, want to give someone a micro dose of mana than touch them with magic want to super charge that touch spell and turn it into a rune trap that you can place on a wall, a sealing or the ground than energize that shit.
Never a better time to ask it, but Oblivion Builds would be absolutely amazing. No one else makes them. Or at least no one I could find in months of searching, and no one would be better suited to make them then the Fudgemuppet themselves. I don't know how popular they'd be compared to Skyrim, but I'm sure they'd draw in a bunch of people to Oblivion who otherwise may never play it. As well, I don't necessarily want build videos just for very powerful Builds. I think the Skyrim route would be great, where you pick stats, gear, race, etc. on roleplay, not functionality.
Definitely recommend the High-Elf Atronach build. You can regain your magicka by creating a telekinesis spell on self, and having the largest magic pool in the game allows for creating custom spells that other builds wouldn't be able to cast.
Building a good Oblivion character is way harder (When I say this, I mean that even the best of players will find it hard as you need to count how much you level each skill between level ups and keep the right track and level them in exact amounts, making efficient playtrough....not so fun...) and he seemed bothered about it and didnt explain correctly why we misplace the major skills....
There are build videos by Pacific , Mythic Dwellers and others but as ABH ABH said, you have to play the build. You can't just pick your 7 favorite skilz as Majors or you will never get +5 to a Attribute and you will be constantly surprised with level-ups. If you change a few names the system starts to make sense. Think of those 7 skilz as "Leveling Skills" and the 14 minor skilz as "Working Skills". Here's my build, Male Breton Apprentice Stealth Strength & Endurance. Armorer, Block, Blunt, Hand to Hand, Heavy Armor, Mysticism, Speechcraft Choose a Offensive skill; Blade, Conjuration, Marksman or Destruction. Play the game using this minor skill and wear light armor. When both these skills raise 10 times, start wearing heavy armor and repairing things until you level up. Rinse & Repeat. Do NOT use Blunt, Hand to Hand, Mysticism or Speechcraft until after your Endurance reaches 100. Run up Illusion. The 2nd most important thing is to get +5 to Endurance on every level until it is at 100 so I use Heavy Armor and Armorer to get that. At Lvl 9 they are 75 and 65 with the other majors untouched. While I'm playing, I keep a speed meter. I wear the brotherhood armor and run often so I can raise Light armor and Athletics. When those 2 are raised a combination of 10 levels or better; I start looking at my offensive skill. This will ensure I get a +5 to Speed. I like Destruction as a offensive skill and because all 3 Willpower skills are minors, I can run it up a bit ( roasting everscamps ). +5 to Willpower. I don't raise Personality so I spam Illusion and Mercantile.
@@thatoneguy8146 there’s a display in the room with the ghosts to put up your unlocks as a little treat, to get to look at your hard work Putting the armor on and taking it off changes the stats to scale to your level.
Please do some builds for Oblivion as well that'd be great I've been trying to get into Oblivion now but I just stopped a few steps in because I'm so used to the cut and dry quest lines of Skyrim sometimes
I have to agree. And it would be much more indepth due to the more intricate level system that oblivion has. Wow Morrowind builds would be fantastic too but either way though keep them coming guys
@@DoeSwiftandBond I love to play Oblivion and I still do it's just that I always just give up Midway and just start over because I don't know what I'm doing right or wrong
Finished Skyrim first and loved it. Spent something like 400 hours doing everything. Then during the pandemic I decided to give oblivion a second chance after I couldn't figure out locks years ago. Once I figured out how the game worked I quickly loved it more than skyrim for many reasons. Should have played it when it released but it looked kinda cheesy but hey retrospect is funny like that. Also how funny is 100% chameleon armour 😆
If you haven't played the Oblivion total conversion Nehrim, then I highly recommend you give it a try. Like Oblivion, it is the oddball of a series of total conversions for the TES games, has a quirky charm, and some pretty good side quests. The SureAI team have squeezed out all of the potential Oblivion has left by the wayside.
It's more immersive than Skyrim, everything, the personality of NPCs, what they do, how they interact with you and one another + the world. The game is more colourful, more fun, vibrant, combat for me is also better with the ability to use magic and weapon at the same time. I prefer the whole vibe of it despite having played Skyrim way more. I started Oblivion again recently and am enjoying it way more than Skyrim on PC having completed it on Xbox 360 originally probably about 15 years ago.
There is something about the writing of Oblivions minor quests that keeps bringing me back to it for D&D inspiration. There are so many quests that feel perfect for a general type fantasy setting.
I appreciate the casual nature of the video, so many videos on oblivion are the hardcore retrospectives (which I do love) but they are almost always min maxers who take chunks of time to complain about the leveling and it’s always nice to hear someone just suggest having fun. I just started my first real playthrough of oblivion, after playing a little as an Atronach mage, I decided to maybe put that on hold and started as a custom spell blade type class and am having a great time
YES!!! Literally just bought the game and was researching the best start when I saw this. Oblivion builds would be awesome! Thank you for all your hard work on this!
This video got me into trying Oblivion after putting 400 hours into Skyrim. To be honest, the first 7-8 hours were very rough, but once I figured it out, I can safely say that I prefer Oblivion over Skyrim (80 hours spent so far). Will definitely have to check out Morrowind in the future. Thank you for the amazing video!
Just learn the leveling system and you'll be golden. It takes more grinding of specific skills than Skyrim, but the story and all the odd quirks of the game make it worth it
Lmao ye pretty much, but it is pretty aids to do properly without commiting grade 4 autism (like i do every single time i start a new character) i hate it and love it in the same amounts
It's not worth it, just makes the game a micramagement hell. I'd advice avoiding learning the leveling system, ignorance is bliss. Just play naturally and use the difficulty slider a bit
if you're on PC one should definitely get the "+5 to all on level up"-mod. If on console either learn the level up system and min-max the shit out of it with exploitable (but unnecessary) skills or abuse the exploits/mechanics the game has to offer. Difficulty slider helps but only so far.
Oblivion has a special place in my heart as one of the first RPGs I ever played (Fable being the actual first). Aside from Arena (which I'm still trying to figure out the trick to), I found something fun and enjoyable about every Elder Scrolls game. Skyrim is a game that I can sit down and have fun while playing. Morrowind had my favourite story and guild questlines that can actually clash with each other, which I found really cool and I really appreciated the creativity of making your own spells. I didn't think I'd like Daggerfall but I ended up really enjoying it. My first character was a khajiit rogue that ended up being more of a nightblade. I liked the special advantages/disadvantages and the game-generated backgrounds.
I think a good start for more Oblivion content would 3 videos for builds, one focused on melee, one on magic, and one on stealth and how to work the leveling system to your advantage in each build. I know personally, the leveling system is what held me back from going from Skyrim to Oblivion.
Better to just ignore it and change the difficulty. Either that or if you’re pc install a mod that fixes leveling. +5 to all attributes I think it’s called.
Oblivion blew my small mind when I first played it. I remember going to Gamestop and asking the employee for a good game that allows you to customize my character. That was literally my only want from a game to get me to play it back then. That employee got a big smirk on his face and asked if my mom would be ok with Oblivion. She had bought me GTA: SA so this wasnt a big deal at all. I put that game in and started playing and it literally changed everything I thought a game could be. I didn't know games could be so deep, so huge, so customizable, and so long! It changed the type of gamer I was and still am. These days I will not even look at a game if you can't create your own character, or at the very least 30 hours minimum of play time. I played Oblivion in 2007 and it tool me a whole to beat it with one character, but fallout 3 came out the next year and it blew my mind again. That's the Bethesda I remember and loved, but i have a different love for them these days. Skyrim and Fallout 4 are my favorite games of all time, and I appreciate Bethesda for providing the base for decades of modding that I partake in all the time. Bethesda has given me the best games I've ever played and will always hold a special place in my heart because of it 💯💯💯
Yeah man, I remember seeing a review of Morrowind and thought it looked cool. It waas amazing, open world, charcter creation, and factions. Playing TES for the first time is a truly magical experience.
@@FrogeFella yes I do enjoy it but theres times where I want to just exist I'm a world and not always have to fight and interact with it which is why I like Oblivion and Skyrim better. They can be as action packed as you want, but then can be just as peaceful
You’ve gotta be joking. “Let us know if you want some builds for Oblivion.” Hell yes I do. I feel like that’s something that’s been asked about for a long time.
I'm basically trying to play fudge Muppets Skyrim battle mage in Oblivion I could definitely use some pointers says it's my first time playing Oblivion LOL
I've actually spent more hours in Oblivion than in Skyrim. :) The world was so vibrant and beautiful. And Skingrad is easily the best city in Tamriel. You can make any video about Oblivion you wish, I'll watch.
When I first started playing Oblivion I had no idea how to level up. My character was level 10 when I realized that you need to sleep for it! No wonder why was my character's life soo hard. Great video by the way!
One thing you got slightly wrong and one thing you forgot. Stamina: When reaches zero has a chance to go negative, when that happens. You faint, you can use magic or enchanted weapon to drain/absorb enemies stamina doing the same to them. Higher level npc: it is far worse then just large hp, it's their abilities that will piss you off. I fought enemies that either made my drop my weapon or kept hitting me, making me fly backwards
Build videos would be very cool, My first time playing I used a High elf with a battle mage build, used umbra armor and clavicus vile mask. If I find a cool build I might start a second playthrough again.
I remember being 15 years old when this game first came out. I still find myself coming back to play this game every now and again just because this is such a fun and memorable game
Was 16 when the game released. Finished it at 18, full completion. Childhood game, will always come back to it, every couple of years, even if I don't have time now to put 700 plus hours like that playthrough. Don't think any game captivated me into it's world as much as this one.
I just started a Oblivion playthrough on my twitch channel. This will make getting started and I fumble less and make content more a LOT easier, or will at least point me in the right direction. Thank you!
Hey @Fudgemuppet how about this build: - Redguard - dual swords ( *curved swords* of course) - Alteration spells such as paralysis and ebony flesh - NO ARMOR for roleplay and challenge - Or the red guard armor from the anniversary edition - speech until merchant perk Besides your Champion of Hircine build this is the most fun build I ever played. Roleplay idea: My one was a merchant and soldier of fortune. He made his way adventuring through Skyrim always looking for coin and gems he sells for lots of money. He wears traditional clothes and shining jewellery - but he is no easy prey for bandits, thanks to some magic tricks and his fast blades
Oblivion is a true masterpiece, one of the greatest games of all time. I truly hope when they remaster it, which I think is either happening in 2024, or 2025, they release it on either the switch, ps4, or both, so I can grab it💖
There is your build guys: Khajiit Vampire + the Steed + focus on athletics and acrobatics and dark brotherhood stuff and you will soon be able to jump everywhere. No need to walk, run or ride. You can basically jump at the roof of every house xD I had soooo much fun back then... I recommed just play the game. I did it, too, when YT wasn't invented.
Oblivion making a comeback! Between this video, Major Slacks play through and SorcerDaves let’s play I’m itchin to dig out my oblivion discs and start a new game!
I’m so happy you made this video! I have been avoiding anything starfield and I do some stuff for Beyond Skyrim so I’ve been actively avoiding your new videos for a while. But this, I’m ready to start watching some FudgeMuppet again!
I can't even tell you how long I spent going through the book that came with it every time I started a new character, lol! Yes, I would love to see some builds, especially a magic user!
I would love for yall to do some Oblivion builds! I love this game, but often don't stick with characters into the higher levels because of the leveling system. I don't have fun micromanaging my level ups so any over powered builds that would remain viable without efficient leveling would be a godsend.
yes please do some builds , I personally appreciate the builds you have done in skyrim and wouldn't mind your help and advise in a new chapter on a old/new game im starting
I'd love to see a couple of oblivion builds here and there if even just for the fun of it, but doing the full thing. Not just "How to make a strong mage" but the Fudgemuppet kind of build we all know and love
The problem I had with Oblivion was the timer on the main quest. In Skyrim, if you don't go to Bleak Falls Barrows and get the dragon stone, you never have to deal with dragons if you don't want to. But Oblivion, in 30 game hours (or is it days?), random portals pop up and force you to deal with the Oblivion crisis, usually before you are ready for it. Want to learn the combat system? Want to join the Arcane University? Want to join the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves' guild? You had better do it fast, because that clock is ticking. And when the countdown begins, you have to deal with it or pretend to be a sociopath. I only got halfway through the Mage Guild quest line before the main quest started interfering with my playthrough.
About the Atronach sign: You all have eyes and can do the quickmaths when 1+1 is presented to you on a silver platter. Meaning: If the Atronach sign sounds juicy for exactly your taste (spell absorption and things and the challenging effect, that denies you any normal magicka regeneration), then take a look at the stats of the Bretons. You'll love the bretons for mage characters, trust me. And although the Highelves seem to be absolute power houses, they're not as good as Gigachad Breton with 100% Spell absorption, meaning you can't get damaged by magic at all. And the bretons get a little part of that, right at the beginning of the game and then can add more to that, up to 100% Other races don't have the beginning advantage against magic and magic is frikkin awesome in Oblivion and a good alternative to the archer build. ...Yes you can also go stealth archer build, but in Oblivion other builds actually are interesting options instead of weaknesses to Gigachad Stealth Archer build from Skyrim, which everyone despises but also everyone picks at some point. And yes, you can also cheese Oblivion until it breaks. Be aware about modding it though, because Oblivion tends to be more fragile (according to my own experience with this game) than Skyrim and we all know how bitchy Skyrim gets, when modded. And if you've played the hell out of Oblivion (pun not intended) and feel like the next step would be Morrowind... Argonians and Khajiit can't wear boots in Morrowind and Levitation is a thing, Cliffracers are fucking annoying and also another pro tip: Don't give gold to beggars, especially the ones from DLCs and especially when they are woodelf and are named "Gaenor"... Stay the fuck away from Gaenor, unless you want a challenge, comparable to Halo Combat Evolved's Library level on legendary difficulty. Or in other words: Gaenor is the "One Winged Angel" of Morrowind.
The most op thing in the early game you can do in Oblivion is to create custom spell with drain 100 life for 1sec on Target. Cost of the spell is ridiculously low. In the early game most of the targets have under 100 life and the 1 sec drain just instantly kills them. So you basically nonstop cast your homemade "avada kedavra" spell killing anything on single hit :D. Loved this as a teen. Btw the Dark Brotherhood storyline in this game is imho the best guild story ever released in the TES and yet not surpassed by anything. It was totally iconic. DB in Skyrim was just a former shadow of the DB in Oblivion.
I played oblivion during 2020 after several playthroughs of skyrim and after having done so I can confidently say its an amazing game. Skyrim isn't a bad game and I think it sets the mood amazingly with how dark the world is especially in the aftermath of oblivion and morrowind, so please don't take my next points as saying skyrim is bad, they're just parts in oblivion that I think we're done better and we're more enjoyable in comparison. Skyrim does things better than oblivion in some cases too, but these are the good points for oblivion. You're in for a completely different vibe compared to skyrim, the colours are more saturated and bright making the game feel more like fairytale fantasy. Even with that feel it still manages to be dark in its storytelling when it needs to be and make your skin crawl with fear. I think it also enhances how dark and dank the caves are when you enter as its such a high contrast to the overworld. I really enjoyed the questlines and it definitely felt more impactful on the world as a whole whilst making your way through the main questline. How the citizens are all affected by it and most mention the current oblivion crisis happenings. This is far better than skyrim where it's mostly just the guards and a few npcs who ever mention anything to do with dragons etc outside of the npcs actually involved in the quests. The cities are all unique and feel alive with so many more npcs (at least it feels like there's more npcs, either way that's a good thing for me) with every single place having a rich backstory and their own problems and intertwining with other cities/towns across Cyrodiil which is another thing that skyrim doesn't get right. The npcs also talk more and have better things to say which helps the world feel so connected. The guilds and side questlines are really great too, with most being more fleshed out and varied compared to skyrim's. Overall its a great game with a great set of different game mechanics, along with a more connected world and story. It's certainly very different to skyrim even within the rpg game type itself and I highly recommend playing it even despite its age.
Would love an ultimate warrior, mage, thief character build guide for oblivion. The leveling system always throws me off when I haven’t played it for a long time. Would really appreciate it if they could be aimed for every race and not just the ones that are optimal for that kind of build.
I started my love of TES with Oblivion, I loved this video, it brought the nostalgia back of the mechanics of such a legendary game. Loved watching this and just hearing RPG elements that were balanced between too complex and too simple.
How to break Oblivion Sheogorath-style: Sigilstones randomize on pickup. Quicksave before you take them and reload until you get the effect you want. The effect you want is chameleon. Enchant your gear for free and troll dagon into submission.
Or just go in and close all the Oblivion gates and you'll get multiple of every type of sigil stone. You don't even have to fight enemies, just run past them all and get to the stone. And you'll occasionally get super valuable loot from the pods.
Just started O this week, bought the game with Fallout 3 (just started too) I’ve beat lots of games etc. Fallout 4 Just Cause 4, Farcry 4,5,new dawn, primal, 6. Etc. I love gaming. I’m a full time Dad and work full time so my time is limited, that’s why I love watching videos for a little help. Thx world. Have a great weekend
My first experience with the elder scrolls was Skyrim and I adore it. One of my favorite games ever. I have tried oblivion many times but never got a good grip on it. This is definitely going to be a great help
Buying this for myself for Christmas. Husband leaves town Thursday for 5 days so I'm not starting till then so I can really dive in. Coming from hundreds of hours in Sykim and I'm wicked excited.
Played and finished Skyrim for the first time a little over a year ago. Was going to ask for Oblivion as a Bday/Christmas gift this year and saw It's $5 on steam today!!! Now im here and looking at modding suggestions lol. Can't wait to get started.
Dunno if it was mentioned, but apparently on console, there’s a thing known as the A-bomb glitch. There’s a counter that records frames, and once it hits a certain number of frames, it screws your game up really badly and basically garbages that save file. You never know when it’s coming, but I’ve read people say they only get anywhere from 200-500 hours out of a save file.
First time playing Morrowind 2004, completed all main and faction quests. Good for the variation in spells and weapons. First time playing Oblivion 2006, completed every quest. Good for the immersion, atmosphere, quests and interesting characters. First time playing Skyrim 2012, completed all main and side quests. Good for the levelling, combat, and control systems. We can all agree, they all have great soundtracks.
This was perfect to watch for me as I am starting a new playthrough on Thursday and have never beaten it yet but I've seen so much good stuff on it. Thanks for the video
This was the guide I was looking for. FudgeMuppet is my go-to for anything concerning Elder Scrolls. I just started playing Oblivion after playing through Skyrim.
I'm a big fan of Skyrim. Haven't seen the video and haven't read any comments yet, but I will later when my current first playthrough of Oblivion is finished. I didn't NEED to know anything since my goal was to experience Oblivion "blind". I did read the manual, though, and the loading tips (whenever they don't disappear too fast...). Been having a blast with the game.
Just started playing oblivion for the first time. I know I'm extremely late to the party but better late than never right? I was 4 years old when it came out and didn't know anything about games. I'm in love with Skyrim and am quickly falling in love with Oblivion. It definitely shows its age but in my opinion, that just adds to its charm. Also knowing the lore of the Elder Scrolls certainly helps with the appeal factor. After I get through with Oblivion, I'm going to give Morrowind a try!
The idea of Oblivion builds in 2022, sounds like a joke someone would ask, but I would love that, you don't see them around unless your looking for a God build
Came back to watch again. There's a mod for Skyrim SE called Spell Research. Its really great for spell crafting and breaking enchanted items down and studying them. It even plays an animation where your character writes stuff down in a journal.
Two reaaaaaly good tips a allways follow 1 allways have a cure disease option on hand….you dont wanna get caught in the middle of nowhere turn in to vampire and cant get any where because you exited a oblivion portal and keep dying over and over…….not like that happend to me or anything….. 2….dont over level speed…..smacking in to everything and missing a doorway by a mile becuase you took one step and now you are in bruma and you started in anvil
Just started this game, played 3houra straight. And it still looks amazing for how old it is. I made a beast pc, but im going back in time to play the masterpieces that nowdays are so scarce Oblivion, skyrim after, witcher 3, mass efeext legendary 2023, 2024 are full Nice video man!
A few quality of life and stability mods go a long way with Oblivion, I'll say that. Add in a few more modern appearance mods like fixing the NPCs awful potato faces and it really is quite a great game.
This has me so excited for Skyblivion. I've tried re-playing Oblivion with and without mods and can never seem to get it to run for more than 30 min on my system without it CTD.
As a seasoned player im really glad this guide gives a fair take on the game's leveling system and not mentioning the use of any mods. For all new players mod-wise i will only recommend the Unofficial Patches since any gameplay mod greatly changes the overall experience and can leave the wrong impressions. As for the game itself, like the man said, common sense, the game gives you more than enough tools to make the character you want without min/maxing, simply play the game and it will all click.
Very well put together video. As someone who has put hundreds upon hundreds of hours into skyrim and only maybe 20 or 30 hours into oblivion, this is very very useful. It's shocking though to see how developed and in-depth the magic system is in oblivion compared to skyrim. Skyrim, visually, was cool.. but not even CLOSE to oblivion's depth. Not sure how you work backwards like that.. but Bethesda has been doing so for years unfortunately.
I discovered Elder Scrolls Arena years ago, 10 MINUTES INTO THE GAME i WAS HOOKED FOR LIFE. elder Scrolls is an amazingly addictive computer drug. Hopefully Elder Scrolls 6 will be out before I die, I am not young and have had 4 strokes, please hurry with that !!! Oblivion builds would be wonderful, thank you ever so much !
In the meantime recommend you to play Enderal right now. Which is a total conversion mod of Skyrim. It's AAA quality in my opinion better than Skyrim. And in 2025 you can play Skyblivion as it has been announced with release date recently.
Since it's Oblivion i feel it's obligatory to mention for new players that the custom spell system is amazing and you should definitely spend a lot of time abusing it, it gets crazy broken if you figure out certain "exploits". Speaking of exploits, there are a ton of them in Oblivion and you shouldn't feel too bad abusing them either, especially if you're planning on playing on a high difficulty. God i love this game.
Interesting you guys came out with this as I have seen tons of Skyrim players that have about had it with AE's shenanigans switching over to Oblivion in droves. I had my game modded to perfection and woke up one day with a complete disaster getting worse with every update. I have just recently downloaded a fresh copy of Oblivion and a mod pack and started playing for the first time. Lots to learn. Thanks for this vid!
I've been enjoying the crap out of dragons dogma but I just found this vid and always wanted to play oblivion but was to Intimidated like he said but I have installed on my series x... I might start it today
Back when I didn’t have internet oblivion was huge learning experience for me. But when I saw the oblivion gates I got scared and didn’t want to go in. Then I realized that I could cloak my robes with chameleon 100% and fire resistant. I could just walk in swim in the lava and take the orbs without any worry of dying I always thought it was funny that the demons didn’t know what happened because they couldn’t see me. Oblivion is awesome
My first ES game was Morrowind when it came out on X-Box. When Oblivion came out it was literally the first game that was mind blowing. Full voice acting, facial movements, better visuals, etc. Then Skyrim came out and I get to go through it all over again lol. I can't imagine how mind blowing ES6 is going to be.
Yes Michael, I surely need to watch this video! I haven't been already playing oblivion for 3 hours this morning, I definitely need this! Please excuse me while I watch this video while stalking the townspeople of Skingrad, on the request of a paranoid wood elf
The footage for this video was very well matched up, lads, great work. I even learned a thing or two and I played this in a similar fashion to how you introduced the game in the beginning!
Just started oblivion. Everyone was talking about skyrim so I tried it and it has by far been my favourite game ever. Let's see if oblivion lives up to its name as well.
I'm up for Oblivion builds. I have it on steam and wanted to start getting into it. Modded and unmodded builds, plus the best mods for today. As long as you are still going strong we're still here for the ride with you. Fudgemuppet at the wheel and we all riding shotgun.

It meant I discovered pretty much everything on my own and eventually knew the map like the back of my hand. Was pretty immersive too.
Happened to me in my first playthrough too but i figured it out when i accidentally fast traveled to kvatch
My dad did that at first too. I showed him fast travel later and he didn’t want to use it, for immersion. He only caved for subsequent playthroughs.
Yo same, I was like 12 or 13. I remember the first time I slept and I leveled up, I jumped from level 1 to level 20 or so because I had already been playing for 100+ hours. My mind was blown when I saw all the new armor.
I did this as well
The first time I played Oblivion, I got out of the Sewers and was in pure awe.
I think it would be cool if equipping it in your hand made it more powerful but still allow you to do a weaker blast otherwise
Because they put shouts on that button instead.
Well mods fix that in Skyrim
So the power button in skyrim, got it. If only skyrim had something similar!
I just started oblivion for the first time as a 42 year old, so far I want to keep playing it. I am loving all the npc’s.
I first played it when I was 35 but not for long, now I started it again as a 48 yo. In many aspects It has more charm than Skyrim
I think its the best game in the series, but does have a bit of a learning curve to understand the way leveling works.
Don't be afraid to break it
Check out general Sam's oblivion videos hilarious quests highlighted
Never a better time to ask it, but Oblivion Builds would be absolutely amazing. No one else makes them. Or at least no one I could find in months of searching, and no one would be better suited to make them then the Fudgemuppet themselves. I don't know how popular they'd be compared to Skyrim, but I'm sure they'd draw in a bunch of people to Oblivion who otherwise may never play it.
As well, I don't necessarily want build videos just for very powerful Builds. I think the Skyrim route would be great, where you pick stats, gear, race, etc. on roleplay, not functionality.
That's a positively great idea. Plus it could give some ideas to people who've already played Oblivion.
Armorer, Block, Blunt, Hand to Hand, Heavy Armor, Mysticism, Speechcraft
Choose a Offensive skill; Blade, Conjuration, Marksman or Destruction.
I really liked FudgeMuppet's Skyrim builds.
You can actually upgrade crusader's relics to your level by placing them on the altar in the priory
What explain, I’m always afraid of starting because of the leveling scale

Please do some builds for Oblivion as well that'd be great I've been trying to get into Oblivion now but I just stopped a few steps in because I'm so used to the cut and dry quest lines of Skyrim sometimes
I have to agree. And it would be much more indepth due to the more intricate level system that oblivion has. Wow Morrowind builds would be fantastic too but either way though keep them coming guys
Oblivion is a beautiful game. Feel free to jump right in and let wonder and curiosity guide you! Its all in your hands.
@@DoeSwiftandBond I love to play Oblivion and I still do it's just that I always just give up Midway and just start over because I don't know what I'm doing right or wrong
@@DoeSwiftandBond agreed. I still play oblivion all the time. Such a great game.
@@oterosantiago42005 that’s the beauty of it my friend
@@rissaarei5336 I'll have to look into this. Thank you kind person of the internet!
@@crabbuckets7506 Always happy to spread the word 😁👍
@@rissaarei5336 Enderal is also the sequel to Nehrim which could be cool for those that have played it.
Thanks for the support! Glad you liked it
This video got me into trying Oblivion after putting 400 hours into Skyrim.
It takes more grinding of specific skills than Skyrim, but the story and all the odd quirks of the game make it worth it
You're absolutely right, plus it's actually much easier than most people think it's just that it is not as casual as skyrim's.
@@ZingoBananaa i regret doing that shit so much, just don't
I suppose i was lucky in that respect then as i was the other way around
@@Juxxize I honestly preferred oblivion over Skyrim’s system so I’m lucky it was the same way for myself too!
Bethesda has given me the best games I've ever played and will always hold a special place in my heart because of it 💯💯💯
Yes, my first RPG game... nowdays....I cant really enjoy a game if it isnt rpg. At least it needs to be heavy fantasy.
Yeah man, I remember seeing a review of Morrowind and thought it looked cool. It waas amazing, open world, charcter creation, and factions. Playing TES for the first time is a truly magical experience.
This is random but do you like Elden Ring? Asking because it has 30 hours of game play and a character customizer

Oblivion was always the odd one out in the series for me when it comes to learning how to play.
This is immensely useful, thanks!
It and especially shivering isles is the best. Way better than Skyrim.
Thank you!
I would love to see some Oblivion builds for sure, more Oblivion content, the better. My absolute favourite video game of all time, no contest.
Hey @Fudgemuppet how about this build:
- Redguard
- dual swords ( *curved swords* of course)
- Alteration spells such as paralysis and ebony flesh
- NO ARMOR for roleplay and challenge
- Or the red guard armor from the anniversary edition
- speech until merchant perk
Besides your Champion of Hircine build this is the most fun build I ever played.
Oblivion's Leveling system still gets me.
I'd like to restart and try again, thank you for this video.
I’m quite familiar with Oblivion just came to show some love for the algorithm. Great video mate 🖤
I think it would be very refreshing to make some roleplay builds for oblivion since the lore is so well known from that time now.
The lockpicking mechanic is maddening after playing Skyrim but outside that this game is an experience all fantasy fans should give a try.
I would love for yall to do some Oblivion builds! I love this game, but often don't stick with characters into the higher levels because of the leveling system. I don't have fun micromanaging my level ups so any over powered builds that would remain viable without efficient leveling would be a godsend.
There has to be a deleveling mod for Oblivion right?
@@ChadKakashi ...not on xbox 😁

I'd love to see a couple of oblivion builds here and there if even just for the fun of it, but doing the full thing. Not just "How to make a strong mage" but the Fudgemuppet kind of build we all know and love
I really hope y’all do another one of these for Morrowind! It’s one Gamepass now, I just downloaded it onto my Xbox!
I have little interest in Playing Oblivion (again), but I would absolutely watch Oblivion build videos you put together.
Wish I had a video like this prior to picking up Oblivion a couple years back. I was lost with the leveling and all that.
About the Atronach sign:
You all have eyes and can do the quickmaths when 1+1 is presented to you on a silver platter.
And the bretons get a little part of that, right at the beginning of the game and then can add more to that, up to 100%
Other races don't have the beginning advantage against magic and magic is frikkin awesome in Oblivion and a good alternative to the archer build.
...Yes you can also go stealth archer build, but in Oblivion other builds actually are interesting options instead of weaknesses to Gigachad Stealth Archer build from Skyrim, which everyone despises but also everyone picks at some point.
Argonians and Khajiit can't wear boots in Morrowind and Levitation is a thing, Cliffracers are fucking annoying and also another pro tip:
Don't give gold to beggars, especially the ones from DLCs and especially when they are woodelf and are named "Gaenor"...
Stay the fuck away from Gaenor, unless you want a challenge, comparable to Halo Combat Evolved's Library level on legendary difficulty. Or in other words: Gaenor is the "One Winged Angel" of Morrowind.
The nostalgia hit hard with this, would love any oblivion content that comes

Dunno if it was mentioned, but apparently on console, there’s a thing known as the A-bomb glitch. There’s a counter that records frames, and once it hits a certain number of frames, it screws your game up really badly and basically garbages that save file. You never know when it’s coming, but I’ve read people say they only get anywhere from 200-500 hours out of a save file.
big tip do all mages guilds as quickly as possible so you can enchant stuff and make spells. even for a no mage built. enchantments save lives.
We need builds and play throughs. Oblivion is the new skyrim!

I love the build videos you all do. Hell yeah we want more
Came back to watch again. There's a mod for Skyrim SE called Spell Research. Its really great for spell crafting and breaking enchanted items down and studying them. It even plays an animation where your character writes stuff down in a journal.
The archery footage around 10:00-10:35 demonstrates why I love Amber arrows - if you miss, they're SO much easier to find in the dark! 😁
Alright, I'll play Oblivion again. Would be awesome to see builds for it from you guys!
My biggest complaints with Oblivion are; the levelling system and lockpicking as both are extremely frustrating when compared to Morrowind and Skyrim

A few quality of life and stability mods go a long way with Oblivion, I'll say that. Add in a few more modern appearance mods like fixing the NPCs awful potato faces and it really is quite a great game.
I love this game so much, its one of my favourites, just watching this to see what you're saying 😂
This has me so excited for Skyblivion. I've tried re-playing Oblivion with and without mods and can never seem to get it to run for more than 30 min on my system without it CTD.
Thank you so much. I just purchased it. I have only played Skyrim.
Man I love the video. It's amazing, but I tried playing morrowind, and it's so much different than even oblivion
I can’t figure out how to break it, seems those don’t work for me on Xbox One, but I still love the spellmaking.
Really great guide. Thx my dude
I've been enjoying the crap out of dragons dogma but I just found this vid and always wanted to play oblivion but was to Intimidated like he said but I have installed on my series x... I might start it today
Then here I am playing Arena for the first time, absolutely in awe to see how years ago Tamriel actually had streetlights in every city.
I'd like love if you guys made builds for the other games
Same that and KOTOR got me into RPGs
Yes Michael, I surely need to watch this video! I haven't been already playing oblivion for 3 hours this morning, I definitely need this!
Please excuse me while I watch this video while stalking the townspeople of Skingrad, on the request of a paranoid wood elf
I like how oblivion has a spell to aviod every mini game like speachcraft has the charm spell, or lock picking has an unlock spell,
The footage for this video was very well matched up, lads, great work. I even learned a thing or two and I played this in a similar fashion to how you introduced the game in the beginning!
I still play Oblivion regularly. It had some of the best story and THE best DLC (Shivering Isles) ever.
23:26 There is a reanimation spell you can obtain in Shivering Isles, by collecting all of the skulls for the hidden Hill of Suicides quest.
Me watching this even though I’ve already played Skyrim and Oblivion a dozen times.
Oblivion builds would be awesome
I’d even love to see Morrowind builds
Just started oblivion. Everyone was talking about skyrim so I tried it and it has by far been my favourite game ever. Let's see if oblivion lives up to its name as well.
I'm up for Oblivion builds. I have it on steam and wanted to start getting into it. Modded and unmodded builds, plus the best mods for today. As long as you are still going strong we're still here for the ride with you. Fudgemuppet at the wheel and we all riding shotgun.
