This solo is on the list of top 5 things make me wanna play. Blows me away I could play this along with the record once upon a time. The speed of that ending is just no joke.
I've been playing like 25 years, and usually I can play just about anything I want to - aside you know from crazy Yngwie and Petrucci stuff ofc. But that pentatonic shredding part you're talking about at the end I literally had to develop that technique for several months before I could sound anything like that at the same speed! Totally worth it!
god bless you for being such a patient man. if you have children, they will love their dad. we are your kids and we appreciate what your doing for us. this will probably take me months to learn, but its worth it. god bless you, and thank you from canada!
+Wooblidoo It would also be awesome if you put a difficulty scale on some of these. You make Megadeth solos look easy and sometimes it's hard to tell if trying to learn the solo is worth the effort. Cheers
As always AMAZING playing amd spot on tone as well Chris! Along with Carl Brown , Ben Eller , Marty Shwartz your channel is one of the best for most accuracy for how to play technical passages
Wow! First time I’ve seen one of your videos, but within the first couple minutes I realized your method of instruction is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I like how things move along quickly. I think when other folks teach songs and solos they may forget that we have the ability to pause, skip back, and do slow-motion, so they spend so much time explaining minor details that I lose interest quickly. I realize we can skip forward also, but that gets to be a pain since you don’t know how long they’ll be talking about what you’re trying to skip, and you end up just going back and forth. In my opinion, if you are up to the challenge of learning solos like this one, you probably don’t need extended explanations on things like how to tune the guitar and basic chord shapes. The camera angle is perfect to see exactly what you’re doing, and the clear and concise explanations of what is happening makes it easy to follow. Plus I knew when you said “slidey phrase” that you were speaking in terms I can relate to. I feel like it does nothing to encourage the kids trying to use TH-cam to learn how to play an instrument when some of these guys just use their “instructional” videos as a platform to show off and talk in all the super-technical music theory terms they know. Keep up the great work! Can’t wait to check out more of your videos!
Great vids! Love your teaching style. A lot of guys will show how to play, but not talk through the bends, positioning and such. Very super helpful to talk through the stuff. I don't have to go back, rewind, and put my face an inch from the screen trying to see exactly what is being fretted.
@@chriszoupa7898 yes your lessons are 👍 . One question, on those bend and release licks, especially on the g and b strings, how do you keep the string below your bend quiet on the release/ pull off? I know people say you gotta work on using both hands for muting the string below but on fast licks, its super difficult and that advice is too generic. Can you give some specific advice on how to work on that?
Just discovered your channel Chris! Fierce playing, great instruction and the chance to re-live my teens learning my favourite solos! Cheers man! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks for this, very clear lesson and very well explained. That transition to the last two legato positions gets me, but I'm going to practice it until I bleed !
I can play the bit at 9m21s exactly along at slow speeds, and also play it a lot faster, but I'll be *damned* if I can do it along with the full-speed play in the intro at 0m57s. Even at 50% I can't match the notes and I'm legitimately wondering if the two plays are the same. Oh well. Setting it down for a bit. The video definitely got me through everything but that!
YOU are no doubt the best soloist instructor on YT. Something I have noticed my friend. That GNR banner behind you can make it appear that you have giant ears. If you watch, you should see what I mean. LOL Love your work !!
Chris you are the man! Phenomenal playing! Love these video and love how you break down all the classic solos section by section and make them so easy to learn. One suggestion, if possible, might be to break up the video where the tablature sections start and mark those with a timestamp underneath the video! Either way I'm definitely a huge fan and will support you and your future projects as much as possible!
You are amazing, Chris. I started playing a month ago and I learned the solo to You Shook Me All Night Long with your video. It was extremely gratifying, thank you, you're a great teacher! (Also you did an *amazing* job on the Painkiller solo and I was wondering if you could do Freewheel Burning! No worries if you've got other stuff on your mind, cheers!)
I love this guitar! I do not know if you remember, but I asked you about it and your opinion helped me buy her decision. Today I have one and also recommend!
I like the hair cut man. I appreciate your videos. Even if it's songs I don't care to learn I stop to watch anyway. Also I would love to hear your input on positive grids bias.
Chris Zoupa I don’t have a band mate I’m just a novice bedroom player at best but hopefully one day I’ll be good enough to atleast play in a cover band 🤘
Hi Chris i have a little different question. I' m playing with an s540 ibanez with a really comfortable neck, BUT I'm looking from a quite different style of guitar. I'm looking for a PRS SE custom 24. How could you describe instrument's neck profile, I'm talking about the wide thin version. Is it a little bit thinner than modern C. And finally what about instrument's frets (jumbo-medium jumbo) and fretboard radius (is it at least 12) ? Thank you and keep up the good work Cheers Panagiotis (greek - difficult - name)
Once again Chris, AWESOME. I started playing last year and I've come along way so far. I really enjoy your attitude and knowledge you display in your tutorials. Give me some insight on your artillery (PRS Guitars). I've collected both a couple electric guitars and a couple acoustics. I have a Blackstar amp but no guitar effect equipment, what do you suggest as far as effects. Thanks and solo on...
Any chance you could do another spending a little more time talking about the alt picked 6 note part towards the end? Or do you offer private zoom lessons? Id happily pay to have you help me develop the proper technique for that part
Oh God do I love simple detuning in Nerual DSP.. Drop D with a hard-tail and then one-click 1/2 step detune.. Without things like this I would rarely learn detuned songs.
This solo is on the list of top 5 things make me wanna play. Blows me away I could play this along with the record once upon a time. The speed of that ending is just no joke.

Totally worth it!
Never before had I ever had to think about pick slanting and actually learning the pentatonic shape lol
@@8KilgoreTrout4Did you pick all the 13-10 bits or use pull offs? Been obsessed with that for several years!
MOST UNDERRATED GUITAR TEACHER AND PLAYER ON TH-cam, PERFECT TONE AND LESSONS EVERY VIDEO!
You ain't lying. The way it's broken down, it's like going over to your buddy's house and learning it. SOLD! I'm subscribing.
His teachings are so great ! Specially solos his floods breakdown video is the greatest lesson on YT in my opinion!
Yes! My favourite Zakk Wylde Zolo!
He does not compare, Chris is THE guitar teacher man. So damn good
One of my favorite solos and this is definitely the best lesson I’ve seen for it!
You have a video for every solo I've wanted to learn.
Thank you for all you do. There’s you and a few others that made me a much better player . Been chasing this solo for a long time. Got it finally
god bless you for being such a patient man. if you have children, they will love their dad. we are your kids and we appreciate what your doing for us. this will probably take me months to learn, but its worth it. god bless you, and thank you from canada!
Damn, this guy is not even trying to be fast. It's like he still has some room for doing it faster. Insane!!! Keep on rocking Sir!
Ive been giving guitar lesson for 20 years and let me tell you...you're great ...nice learning speed ...you show the solo in the way tha we can learn

+Wooblidoo It would also be awesome if you put a difficulty scale on some of these. You make Megadeth solos look easy and sometimes it's hard to tell if trying to learn the solo is worth the effort. Cheers

Phrasing is everything in that solo, you nailed it Cheers
As always AMAZING playing amd spot on tone as well Chris! Along with Carl Brown , Ben Eller , Marty Shwartz your channel is one of the best for most accuracy for how to play technical passages
Uncle Ben will always be the best, in my opinion

Yeah, very well done. Who would of thought it would be this freaking easy!!! just need to practice it more for fluidity...thanks man!
better teaching style than anything I see on youbute. Thanks!

Do "shot in the dark"!!!!
that song is the bane of my existence
awesome as usual
I never allow myself to become fully excited before the tunning has been disclosed. Been burnt before.
That’s probably the closest I’ve ever heard that to the studio solo. Nice job man.

Great lesson chris but can you please do a surfing with the alien lesson?
You are an awesome guitarist. How long have you been playing and is that all you do?
I just realized you were picking with your fingernail and not a pick, thats amazing.
How do you remember all of that?
I torture myself till it's memory then forget it a week later
Oh God do I love simple detuning in Nerual DSP.. Drop D with a hard-tail and then one-click 1/2 step detune.. Without things like this I would rarely learn detuned songs.
no more headshave
Very good.
Can't tell what's better, the beard or the guitar
