holy cow i played and finished this game multiple times when i was a wee lad. I somewhat really liked this game back then. Not sure if i have the same feeling if i played it now but it does bring a smile on my face when i saw this one popping up from my notification.
Man, seeing this game again makes me want to play it so bad that I am going to. My next suggestion for quirkily mediocre mid-2000s shooter is the Wanted movie-tie-in game; Wanted: Weapons of Fate.
This game's development is something. Atari was originally publishing it and it had some big name actors like Dennis Quaid and Michael Ironside. The story seemed more serious in the 2005 version of the game. At some point things changed and they rewrote the story for some reason when Vivendi acquired it. It's still possible to find an older demo of the game with the original story and some of the missions as well.
I'll be honest, I thought all of the cement themed jokes were done and the "concrete answer" joke caught me off guard. But it's really cemented in my mind now
Have you ever heard of a game called Fracture? It was another one of those incredibly mediocre PS3 generation third person shooters with “crazy gaming technology” where you could adapt the terrain to your advantage. And yet somehow Red Faction did it much better years beforehand.
oh my god he actually did it! He played Timeshift! Fuckin love timeshift, the guns and setting are cool as fuck. My favorite weapon hands down was the Hellfire: Incendiary machine pistol with an under barrel flamethrower.
Good to see this game get some attention! I remember getting the Demo Disc in an Xbox Magazine at the grocery store as a child and being really intrigued by it, this was back before I was on the internet as a kid so I had only magazines and word of mouth / G4 TV
I actually loved this game when it came out and got every non multiplayer achievement on the 360. I think THQ owns the rights now so maybe we can get a sequel.
Thanks for the little nostalgia trip. This game was definitely of its time, and had some pretty fun mechanics. I loved these types of game on my Xbox 360, which is still my favourite console.
Your singularity video reminded me of time shift and threw me into a rabid hole of watching videos about it. Now you upload one yourself Absolut mad lad
I remember I really wanted modern warfare 2 when it came out, but it was too expensive so my parents bought me this used. I really enjoyed this game. This brought back a lot of memories.
I remember playing a demo for the first build of this game and it was meh, so they delayed the game another 18 months and basically remade the game. Would have been interesting to see more of the original build.
I used to remember reading about this in Hyper, an Australian game magazine. It had been in their "Previews" section for ages. I was too young for the controversy about Duke Nukem and Prey so this was my first exposure to "development hell". If I'm remembering correctly they completely shifted the aesthetic half way through development after a LOT had been previewed and demonstrated (to pretty negative reception if I must say). Like I'm pretty sure the main character used to look like Nathan Drake or some other square jawed dude. I never got around to playing it so thanks for playing it so I don't have to.
I JUST REALIZED. It bothered me the first time I saw this video, that the second guy who didn't fire on Oboe looked familiar. His facial model is RIDICULOUSLY similar to the one used for the Captain Norton in Deadspace 3.
Am i the only one noticing the end shifting back to the beginning of the video that has the end shifting back to the beginning of the video that has the end shifting back to the beginning of the video?
I'm proud to say I had the chance to play the multiplayer side of this game on xbox and I actually liked it. This was one of the first games I ever owned
What's funny is that I saw a poster of TimeShift in a teacher's classroom in my Highschool who I forgot the name of because I was never assigned to his class. I was only in his room because I was an IT Computer Student that needed to fix his old office pc. I was thinking the whole time how fucken cool his helmet was but I sadly I had no time to chat as I needed to fix half the schools computers that day. If I were one of his students I would ask bruh do you really like this game? That single poster has been there for so many years and it still may be up there till this day. Rarely do I see teachers express their appreciation for gaming so that was kind weird for me.
I like timeshift I like it that some people are remembering this game this released the same year is Call Of Duty Modern Warfare so that means it wasn't trying to copy Call of Duty at the time
Damn, you also mentioned Haze, i really miss all these weird ass fps each based on some kind of different mechanic. They were all so mediocre but so much fun.
Hey! Developer here! We put lots of cement mixers in the game to help lay the foundations to a sequel.
So do you just prowl youtube occasionally looking for videos on games you worked on or are you just coincidentally subbed to Oboe
WHERE IS IT???? GIVE ME THE SEQUEL
@@Syouran1 He’s not a dev, he was just making another cement mixer joke..
badum tss

"One of the game ever made" couldn't have said it better myself
It sure is
Wanna play this game too
I saw that as well. Did a double take. It was definitely a game that was made. He is right.
I feel the joke is way overused recently.
Bc you're not creative
I remember playing the demo for this alot as a kid. Never got around to playing the full game but geez did this wake up a memory in me
same
Its actually pretty good and worth a play through
I remember that time were some demos were pretty fun and even had multiplayers
I think I still have that OXM demo disc lol
Yes I had a demo disc from a magazine that had this on it. Played it tons of times
I genuinly loved this game a long time ago. Stopping time and blasting a dude with a shotgun never got old. The explosive crossbow too.
@yes fucking bot under my own comment.
holy cow i played and finished this game multiple times when i was a wee lad. I somewhat really liked this game back then. Not sure if i have the same feeling if i played it now but it does bring a smile on my face when i saw this one popping up from my notification.

B-But that's a good game...
@@PresidentFunnyValentine I was just going to say I actually really liked that game
The Bourne Conspiracy
Ps3 game
John Woo's Stranglehold is a good one on 360
Short game but that curve mechanic was cool
Aw yeah, this game was my jam. Time powers were so mindblowing for lil me. Shame it never got a sequel.
Thank you for the video!
I still absolutely love this game. It’s Half Life with time control and it’s fucking rad.
It also has the same particle effects that were used in F.E.A.R so gunfights indoors can get hectic
Singularity?
This game's development is something. Atari was originally publishing it and it had some big name actors like Dennis Quaid and Michael Ironside. "We probably won't get a concrete answer."
Perfection. *Chef's kiss*
Lighting and particle effects (especially the rain) are still amazing to look at, nearly 15 years after release.
One of the games EVER MADE
I'll be honest, I thought all of the cement themed jokes were done and the "concrete answer" joke caught me off guard. But it's really cemented in my mind now
Yet another 360 era shooter everyone forgot about. Which also happens to be my favorite genre
The atmosphere in the first level with the rain is actually amazing. They should have made the entire game like the first level.
They don't make games like 00s games anymore. I miss them.
Not AAA, but you can find indie/AA devs making games like Timeshift and FEAR.
Gotta wade through a lot of 90s Doom/Quake clones though to find them.
“I get this confused with Haze and Singularity. “
Honestly my head cannon is these games are all in the same universe
Singularity man is Krone's father, Haze's Protagonist is the anonymous TimeShift Protagonist's descendant
Except Singularity and Timeshift are Actually good games unlike Haze
You have a cannon on your head? That's pretty OP
@@slynt_ Hell yeah I do. BOOM!
Have you ever heard of a game called Fracture? It was another one of those incredibly mediocre PS3 generation third person shooters with “crazy gaming technology” where you could adapt the terrain to your advantage. And yet somehow Red Faction did it much better years beforehand.
Yo I loved fracture! I remember there were a couple missions you could just completely break if you got creative with the terrain manipulation lmao
This game is not incredibly mediocre
3:12 the chair wheels on a grate does ruin my suspension of disbelief
I've synced my phone's framerate to this video and all that happened is you earned another fan.
Wow. You took the fun out of playing this game for those who haven't found this yet.
i loved this game when i was a kid, never forgot about it. the time manipulation was what sold me. the multiplayer was so fun too!
The office chair on the grate is somehow the most realistic thing about this game
oh my god he actually did it! He played Timeshift! Fuckin love timeshift, the guns and setting are cool as fuck. My favorite weapon hands down was the Hellfire: Incendiary machine pistol with an under barrel flamethrower.
"you know the drill by now" at the start make sense. Brilliant editing!
Dude, how do you not have over a million followers? You are an absolute comedy genius! Thank you so much for consistantly making my day.^^

Me Too But What Makes You Think That THQ Own The Right To TimeShift
Daniels doesn't even hit the fan blades, he just explodes on impact with the ground.
One of my favorite things to do in multiplayer was to bait snipers into shooting me while I’m in a reverse bubble rebounding the shot back into them.
That game is nostalgic to me
I played it a lot back when PS3 was released
Still have the cd
That star citizen joke legitimately made me cough up my water lmao
You have been going through the games i used to rent at blockbuster way back in the day, the nostalgia is real haha
Goddamnit. This channel is so great. I love this shit. You make my life less stressful, man. Thank you so much. I laugh so much watching your channel.
Thanks for the little nostalgia trip. This game was definitely of its time, and had some pretty fun mechanics. I loved these types of game on my Xbox 360, which is still my favourite console.
Since you're on the trend of old mid 2000s shooters, can we please get Turok from 2006? I actually love the game and remember it very fondly.
The mad lad did it. The holy trinity of generic FPS games has been completed🙌🙌
No, there is another....probably.
Your singularity video reminded me of time shift and threw me into a rabid hole of watching videos about it.
Now you upload one yourself
Absolut mad lad
My favorite thing to do was in the multiplayer, throw down a reverse time grenade then jump on top of it, it sends you FLYING
I remember I really wanted modern warfare 2 when it came out, but it was too expensive so my parents bought me this used. I really enjoyed this game. This brought back a lot of memories.
your uploads keep me alive
no pressure
Best game ever made.
Uhh n-nahh
It's the game ever made.
Ok
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who always mixes up a lot of these 7th gen shooters 😂
I remember playing a demo for the first build of this game and it was meh, so they delayed the game another 18 months and basically remade the game. Would have been interesting to see more of the original build.
This game is one of the first LPs I watched on early YT lol
I love how he just domes the main villain with no nonsense.
Man, this sure brings some memories. I found this game inside a Rumble Roses XX disc box that dad bought for me when I was a wee lad. Fun time
You know your fan base is great when half of the comments tell you how underrated you are
when you played the music at 4:20 I immediately recognized it from the crane part in the highway 17 chapter of half life 2
2:37 Fuck it, I'll do it again

Finally getting around to play this. Really reminds me of the first fear. Really cool game.
the cement joke was on point
This game was lit, and left with a nasty cliffhanger.
Best demo on the PS3, free multiplayer game as a broke kid, lol.
actively groaned with your cascade of cement mixing jokes .. love it
I remember this was the only game I wanted when I got my 360 I played the demo like 20 times and when I finally got it I made it to level 2
I remember playing this and it seemed like literally no one had ever heard of it
I JUST REALIZED. It bothered me the first time I saw this video, that the second guy who didn't fire on Oboe looked familiar. His facial model is RIDICULOUSLY similar to the one used for the Captain Norton in Deadspace 3.
That laser dodge was impressive
My memory of this game is listening to the metal music video in settings
Am i the only one noticing the end shifting back to the beginning of the video that has the end shifting back to the beginning of the video that has the end shifting back to the beginning of the video?
"one of the games ever made" lmfao the thumbnail for this is just *chef's kiss*
I misread this as TimeSplitters for some reason, man Oboes you should really play TimeSplitters 1 & 2
Genuinely loved it, so original, played it like hell. I wish it had better shooting

This game is freaking awesome. The graphics are damn good. Gameplay is aswesome. Hidden gem for sure.
This game was a pleasant surprise back then. Played it through at least 2 times.
literally yesterday I was wondering if you had ever made a video on this game, now I know lol
The only friend
I ever had in high school traded a game I had with this, and I loved it
I'm proud to say I had the chance to play the multiplayer side of this game on xbox and I actually liked it. This was one of the first games I ever owned
What even is game sound? It wasn’t invented back when they travelled in time to record this video.
Maybe all the cement mixers are for repairing the constant damage from the Scarab things walking around.
beating the laser wall without timeshifting, should be achievement

I think thats on the box
You should give F.E.A.R 1 and it's expansions a chance man.

Your "wow" sounds incredibly similar to Owen Wilson's and it makes me chuckle
Chair wheel getting stuck in that grate huh? Not if he TIME SHIFTS!
This and Quake 4 are my guilty pleasures.
Concrete answer… wow… subbed
I like timeshift I like it that some people are remembering this game this released the same year is Call Of Duty Modern Warfare so that means it wasn't trying to copy Call of Duty at the time
I suggest either Battlefield Bad Company (the original) or Army of Two TFD for your next in 2010-ish FPS games that people vaguely recall.
Man I used to love this freaking game.
I've been waiting for this for a long time
I love this game top 10 for me
wouldnt touching fire while time is stopped still burn you
idk, go make an experiment
Oh man you did it
Thanks for reminding me how I liked the weird multiplayers no one remembers lol

They shift now? They shift now...
I remember renting this thinking it was Singularity. Played all the way through. None of this is ringing any bells lol
