@@Elizabeth-up4ym Oh wow, what ad? I am curious if we all see the same ads? I saw one on Native (deodorant- which I have), Sarani blankets (which I love and will buy one someday), Smile Train, which I used to donate to and need to do again. I watched it a few times now and it seems that each time I watch, I get different ads. I got two medical ads, one about plasma and one about vein treatment. LOL. Fascinating.

Inappropriate is different for everyone and I doubt she needs to concern herself with that right now if at all. I've never seen any adds on this channel that I thought were inappropriate.

I love your huge list of names! There aren't a ton out there that are rapid fire like that! We named our 2 month old daughter Galilee because my name is Cana. (If you know the Bible, you get it.) My mom named me Cana because I was her first child aka miracle. And Jesus performed His first miracle in Cana and most of the rest in Galilee as a whole. Galilee is my first miracle. And especially since she was born with the umbilical cord around her neck 3 times and not breathing, she truly is a miracle!!!

Me too!! I have a list of probably 85 baby names I love, all have meaning… my husband likes only 2 of them 😆😆 we have 3 kids right now -Alethia (Ah-Lay-ThE-uh) which means truth, Ivan which means God is Gracious, and Adrian which means rich water. Our next names on each list are for a boy Manoah which means peace and for a girl Tauriel (TOR-EE-EL)which means daughter of the forest.

That definitely goes both ways gorgeous girls too. For example McKenna sounds cute for a child but juvenile and childish once she's an adult. Whichever the gender you've always got to seriously consider how it sounds both ways as a child and an adult. There are so many kids these days with cute trendy names that are going to sound absolutely ridiculous in about 20 years, lol. I also keep a list on my phone which I have been updating as of lately since I am currently expecting.

I hear what you’re saying about students’ names!! My first year teaching, I had Kaden, Caden, and Kaidhyn (a girl!), Jaden, Jalen, 2 Joshes, Jon,…and it goes on! But, now, I teach in Poland! If you don’t know anything about names in Poland, there are only a select set of names parents can choose. So, this means you could end up with multiple students with the same name: Ola, Ela, Ewa, Michalina, Maja, Kasia, Asia, Mateusz, Stas, Dawid…..it’s kind of funny that it was challenging in the US, but it’s completely normal here in Poland!
As for President’s names for girls, I had a Kennedy and a Reagan, who were girls, in my class!!
Naming my own children was kind of the same as you-I wanted my girls to have unique names. For my oldest, I had met actress Nia Peeples (from the TV show “Fame”) when I was 17 and she was SO nice to me that I decided I would name my first daughter after here. My daughter’s middle name is Jessica, which means “wealth”. My second daughter was going to be Amanda Ruth, but the night before we had her, my husband said, “By this time tomorrow, we’ll have a Krystyna Ellyse or a Dax.” And So, we went with that for her name…not knowing then that her name was the POLISH spelling of Christina! (My husband and I are now empty-nesters, living as missionaries in Poland, where I am also a school teacher!). OUr son’s name was always going to be a family name. My husband’s Scottish heritage has the name “Patrick” in it, so this was gong to be used. And his middle name, James, is a tribute to my MIL’s father and my FIL’s brother ho passed away as a baby.
Finally, my son’s nickname that I call him is Sonny! I used to call him Sonny Boy, which morphed into “Boy”…but, as he got older, that didn’t work so much anymore. So, I started calling him “Sonny”. ❤️

Our kids have very uncommon names as well, but our criteria was that it also had to be a Biblical name with a significant meaning.
So our daughter is named Tirzah (teer-zah) which means she is my delight. And our son is Thaddeus (thadd-ee-us) which means he praises from the heart . I can't wait to hear what you name this new little bundle of joy!

I love the name Palmer. Id use it but i live in Alaska and its a pretty commonly known city here, but if I ever moved I'd use it! I always loved the name Bentley, even years before getting pregnant. When I moved here there is a very sad and tiny mall named the Bentley mall and a few street names with Bentley in them. We decided to go ahead and name my first son Bentley because we were moving to Texas as soon as he was born. Little did I know we would move back to Alaska. Its fun for him now though to see his name on street signs and buildings, especially now that he's starting to read.

Jacob is almost always on the most popular baby names of whatever year list, and Jacob was not a biblical man of great character, either. Only by the grace of God did he become what he became, which I guess is true for all of us who turn to Him no matter what our name. Maybe that's why people like the name Jacob?

I was named for my grandmother Ethel who was named for her grandmother. That would have been okay BUT when I was in high school Ray Stevens came out with the song The Streak. Here are some if the lyrics. "Ethel, Is that you get your clothes on. Oh yes they call her the streak." When I would walk into the school gym for an event someone would yell out that first line and that would be the start of what felt like everyone singing the chorus." Did I mention there were 1000 people in my high school? So I am glad you are careful. I love my name and incredibly proud and blessed to be named after my grandma who was like a mother to me. However since then I have gone by Lynne. When I tell this story the vast majority of people STILL know this song.🤣🤣

This was so much fun to watch! You are incredibly creative- several of these names I had not heard of and that is hard to do these days!
I work on a dairy farm where every cow has a name. Many of these are part of our herd! (I will have to send you something soon). Prayers for your family as you welcome you new little boy.

An idea would be to take Dakota and shorten it to Koa. Koa Fox. Sweet, short, and simple…but unique. 😊 Other names I love are Oakley/Oakes/Oaklan or boy or Oaklyn for girl, Skylar, Royal, Flynn, Carson, Callie-Hope, Cove, Meadow, Cassidy, Addy, Piper, Eden, Ivy, Arabella, Sierra, Sutton, River, Emory, McKenna or Makena, Noa, Summer, Sailor, Elliott, Avani, Arkham, Breck, Sawyer, Rafe or Reef, Kade, Tobias, Cedric, Atlas, Axel, Arrow, Cru or Cruz, Shepherd, Canyon, Creed, Anton, Shiloh, and Adrian.

I've been noticing two big fads among some Mennonites in their baby names. Last names for first names for either boys or girls and boys names ending with -ER. So instead of a classroom with lots of Jessica's and Amy's, there will soon be a classroom full of gender neutral last names and names ending in -er's!

You mention Maraceli is Spanish. I don’t know anyone with that name but Araceli does exist (for girls that is).
I personally don’t like surnames as first names but I know it’s all very personal. For girls, I love flower names. Boys are harder to name but I like traditional ones.

Wow, Megan; a lot of the names you mentioned sounded masculine to me, but you indicated you liked them for a girl and kind of vice-versa. I guess the older names are more gender distinctive; where names now a day can be used either way. How interesting, but I like all the names you have been listing. I also like your thinking, methods, and reasoning for name you like or don’t like, too. You are very analytical and thoughtful.

When naming my son, I was trying to find a first name that wouldn’t clash with Dover. In the long run it didn’t matter. They still called him Ben in elementary school. Luckily he has great since of humor and laughed right along with them. His friends still call him Ben to this day.

We were going name our son Matthew. When I was 5 months pregnant I had a dream about the name. Our last name is Dorer (door-er) and I just KNEW the kids in school would call him Door Matt....and refused to name him that. So, we named him Travis Vaughn.

I'm with the more unique names♡ our names we want to have special meanings. Both our girl's meanings are meaningful for the place we were in our life, things we were going through. My oldest is Britta Elease (Strength&Happiness and God's Promises) and my 2nd is Aniya Rayne (Merciful-Counselor) we have scriptures for their names as well that fit with where our life was at their birth and also go with their name. We also do not want any dumb sounding nice names so thats always something we go over with a name be4 we choose it. You have some cute names meghan!! We love the boy name Winston Forest ;) but we are using Judson Wayde. We like historical names that are meaningful name to us and earthy sounding names. My father n law passed away right after we married and he was a J.W. and so is my husband, so our 1st boy will be a J.W. as well... judson wayde together means Praise and At The River Crossing.
For our next baby girl we are using Ziva Hope and her names together will mean Bright-Hope. We have scriptures for that as well. We also love Mallory Sage together! My husband and I love the same names and have never struggled with a name at all♡ We always reveal baby's gender and name together soon as we find out gender. My thinking is so our name doesn't get stollen lol because I am usually pregnant same time as other friends (almost always! But its so fun!) So I figure if I announce our name then if it gets taken then I will still use it anyway since everyone knew we had already chose it lol it just takes a stress off that I think would really bother me too much! Non of my siblings tell til birth tho and most of my friends don't either! That way is fun as well!
