    Brilliant, easily the best description I've seen and I've seen many. Your basic and honest approach has helped me enormously. Thank you.

    Thank you so much for this video. I bought a VW LT35 LWB 2005 a few days ago. The previous owner had it a couple of weeks knows less than me and I know almost nothing. Anyhow the system is Identical to yours a Sargent only I seem to have an MPPT box also. The wiring is all connected to the devices but not to anything else. So the Sargent just has cables coming out unconnected as do all the other devices. After watching your vid I can see that I need to have a 12v side and a 240v side. Again thank you so much...Ray

      Hi Ray, glad you found the video helpful! :) And we hope you're well on the way to understanding campervan wiring. The MPPT box will work well with solar panels. Hope that helps! :)

    Thank you for sharing this video. Could you please explain how to earth the 240v hook up I'm currently installing to my van.

    Perfectly clear and comprehensive. Thank you! Can you include a charging station hook up installation?

      Hi Mike, do mean charging your leisure battery from the 240v hook up?

    Really useful video thank you!
    I'm wiring up my first van, I've followed tutorial videos including yours, plus advice from Rayne Automotive. I'm confident I've wired it correctly, but I'm just a little nervous about reconnecting the batteries.
    Should I connect the leisure battery first, positive then negative and then finally reconnect the vehicle battery negative?
    Thank you!

    Magic thanks. All that has. been done in our camper except the fridge! So if I put a 240 v to 12v transformer in as it is now, it would run the fridge plus it would be connected to the leisure battery. That worries me. Can you have that leisure battery connected to 12v all the time or would that mess it up please?

    Very well explained. However can you advise if the 240v shore power inlet needs to be earthed. If it does how does it interact with the 12v earthing? Thanks.

    • @justkampers
      @justkampers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Andrew, all 240V inlets should be earth bonded to the chassis as long as the correct breaker units are used in the consumer unit. This does not effect the 12v circuit. Hope that helps. 😀

      On the 230V AC 50 hz inlet from EHU can you explain why you bond this to the chassis ?

    Thank you for this video, I'm a little daunted at the thought of wiring my Boxer, but this has reassured me. Th8s set up is almost exactly what we would like. Before i get this kit, may I ask if the setup you've demonstrated here would work with the addition of an inverter so that we can have off grid 240v power ( I'll need more batteries which I will house in the rear garage) Any other advice would be appreciated before I order from yourselves. Thank-you

      @justkampers  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, sorry for the late reply! We're glad the video helps, wiring can be daunting. We would suggest running the off grid 240v as a completely separate system with separate 240v sockets. As the Sargent unit it designed to just run from your 240v inlet from a campsite. Hope that helps :)

    Do you have a Code for the Sargent box to use in purchasing the box? For you to get a credit for advertising the product and I get a discount on it if I purchase it? It’s in my basket now but I’ll wait for you to respond before I close the sale. 😊😊

    Hi, great video, but I don't really understand the switch panel. Do your wires all run from the Sarjent unit, to the panel and then to the component off that switch? Or is there another way?

    • @justkampers
      @justkampers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Chris, all the wiring runs from the Sargent unit to the components ie lights, fans etc. The panel only plugs into the Sargent unit, which in turn controls the power. Hope that helps!

    Hey, any chance of showing where an inverter goes on your wiring plan. I’m installing an ac unit on my van conversion and want to be able to run it when I don’t have access to a 240v source. I know that an inverter is required but not sure where on the diagram that fits in. Any help would be awesome

    Ive got the Sargent unit great bit of kit.

      Hi Bobby, the heater we fitted was 2k, which is perfect for that size campervan, it gets up to temperature really quickly! Hope that helps :)

    Thats really helpful, I have a Sargent unit and I'm looking to add solar and a MPPT, so good to know I can add along to the system. On your set up there, how would you add an Inverter into the 240v system on the Sargent? Thanks

    • @justkampers
      @justkampers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Andy, you will need to add a inverter to your leisure battery system and run a separate 240v output from there and not add it to the Sargent Unit. As the Sargent unit only gets it's 240v from the shore power inlet only. Hope that helps!

    Thanks Adam

      Hi Adam, we used the Smart Alternator DC CTEK Split Charging System. Hope that helps! Link here - www.justkampers.com/smart-alternator-dc-ctek-split-charging-system-for-vw-t6-and-bluemotion-t5.html

    Does the Sargent unit take the place of an Inverter, for when you're Off-grid?
    Meaning, does it convert the 12volt power from the battery to 240volt, to run those particular 240volt appliances?

    • @justkampers
      @justkampers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, no the Sargent unit is a 240v hook up and 12v system, not an inverter. It's just an easier way of combining both together. Hope that helps :)

    Will this act as a split charge system from start battery to leisure ? I have a euro 5 transporter and heard that euro 5 and 6 isn’t compatible?

    • @justkampers
      @justkampers  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Kyle, for Euro 5 you can use a simple split charge relay to charge your leisure battery, saving you the expense of the DC to DC charger as used on Euro 6 (smart charge alternator). Hope that helps!

    So will this run off grid

    • @justkampers
      @justkampers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, all the 12v appliances will be able to run off grid. Especially with the solar pannels on the roof topping the battery up. With this set up, to use the 240v you'll need to be plugged into the 240v mains.

    hi dose the sergent unit do away with the need for a splitter unit to be fitted between van battery and leisure battery
